Norma L. (Mauthe) Eng, age 40 of Five Oaks Lane, Hilliards, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 12:35 p.m. in the Allegheny General Hospital Emergency Room.
Born November 7, 1968 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Martin Mauthe and Mary Fair Mauthe.
Mrs. Eng served in the U.S. Army for six years and was a file clerk for National Underground Storage in Boyers for 10 years. She was a member of Salvation Army.
Mrs. Eng is survived by her husband, Bruce Eng whom she marriage on November 1, 1990, by son, Kyle Q Mauthe of Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina; three daughters, Nneka Eng, Kayla Eng, Taylor Eng all at home; by her parents, Martin and Mary (Fair) Mauthe of Karns City, Pennsylvania; her grandfather, William Mauthe, four sisters, Mrs. Randy (Virginia) Neff of Chicora, Pennsylvania, Yolanda Burk of Karns City, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Rick (Shawnee) Neff of Petrolia, Pennsylvania, Noblelee Mauthe of Karns City, Pennsylvania; one brother, Garrett and his wife Michelle Mauthe of Bruin, Pennsylvania; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, February 27, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 8 p.m. with Majors Paul and Virginia Downing of the Salvation Army officiating.
Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery, Hooker, Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors.
Ronald J. Jardin
September 22, 1942 - February 25, 2009
Ronald John Jardin, age 66 of Freeport Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday February 25, 2009 at 7:08 p.m. at his home surrounded by his entire family.
Born September 22, 1942 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Jardin and the late Irene Lowry Jardin.
Mr. Jardin was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked in the Melt Shop Maintenance department at Armco where he retired in 1995, after thirty years of service. He veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Jardin was a member of Butler American Legion Post #117, Loyal Order of the Moose #64, Butler, and the Butler Elks Lodge #170. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
Mr. Jardin is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bauman Jardin whom he marriage on January 24, 1964, by one son, Ronald Jardin, II; three daughters, Rhonda J. Jardin, Rochelle and her husband David Rihel, Renae and her husband Kurt Weaver all of Butler, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, three sisters, Doris Schaeffer of Butler, Pennsylvania, Joyce Black of Cabot, Pennsylvania, Jean Hoagland of Grove City, Pennsylvania and eight nieces and two nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday February 27, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, February 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Chaplain Tom Spiker of Medi Home Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Gruenwald Cemetery.

Helen Benko, age 93, of Penn Avenue, Lyndora, Pennsylvania, died Friday, February 26, 2009 at 8:20 p.m. at her residence.
Born, September 13, 1915 in Lyndora, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Michael Benko and the late Anna Kocan Benko.
Helen Benko was a member of St. John Byzantine Church. She was a floor manager for G.C. Murphy Company.
Helen Benko is survived by, two sisters, Margaret Benko of Lyndora, Pennsylvania and Mrs. John (Dolores) Prokopchak of Washington, DC; two nephews, David Prokopchak and Gregory Prokopchak; one grand niece, Nicole Prokopchak.
The family would like to especially thank her caretakers, Martha Sapar, Tammy Carbin, Sharon Allen and also her caring neighbors, Peter and Doris Hrip.
Helen Benko was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Parastas services will be held at 4:30 p.m.on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the funeral home.

Aida M. Castilyn, age 85, of Sunnyview Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Diamond Street, died Friday, February 27, 2009 at 12:25 a.m. at Sunnyview Home.
Born, March 15, 1923 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Eugene McClelland and the late Sarah Gardiner McClelland.
Mrs. Castilyn was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Castilyn is survived by one daughter, Sandra J. Hays of Prospect, Pennsylvania; one sister, Mrs. Merril (Jane) Moses of Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother, E. A. McClelland of Reading, Pennsylvania; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Castilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Castilyn, who died on October 13, 1985 and also by one sister and three brothers.
There will be no public visistation.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Members of the St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 9:35 a.m.

Isabel L. "Ish" Eichhorn
March 23, 1917 - March 25, 2009
Isabel L. "Ish" Eichhorn, 92, formerly of Butler passed away on March 25, 2009, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, in Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Isabel was born on March 23, 1917 in Leasureville, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Myrtle (Cypher) Hesselgesser.
She graduated from Winfield Township High School in 1936, and attended the Griffin Cosmetology College in Pittsburgh where she graduated in 1937. In 1942 she marriage George B. Eichhorn and they made their home in Butler, where she was a beautician for 20 years. She resided in Butler for 60 years until moving to a Concordia apartment in Cabot, Pennsylvania in 1999.
After the death of her husband, Isabel was a volunteer at the Butler Memorial Hospital. She was also a former member of the hospital auxiliary, a member of the Tanglewood Senior Center, a 60-year member of the United Church of Christ in Butler, and a member of the Golden Circle of that church.
Survivors include her three nieces, Ann Hesselgesser (John) Wagner of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Nancy Hesselgesser (George) Price, of Harlingen, Texas; and Jane Thompson Bures-Hunt, of Sarver, Pennsylvania; two nephews, David G. Murray of Sanders, Arizona; and John (Pat) Hesselgesser of Spokane, Washington. Isabel is also survived by her dear friends, Janice and Bill Hetrick and family of Butler, Pennsylvania, and extended members of her late husband's family.
In addition to her parents, Isabel was preceded in death in 1986 by her husband of 44 years; a brother Harold "Huck" Hesselgesser in 1949; a sister, Mary Hesselgesser Thompson in 2007; and a niece, Susan Hesselgesser Huff in 2000.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 1 to 3 p.m. Immediately following the viewing, services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend Jack Hartman of Concordia Lutheran Ministries officiating. Burial will be private.

Betty E. Fend, age 86 of Sunnyview Home, formerly of East Metzger Avenue, Butler, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 10:50 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born July 6, 1922 in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late James Browne and the late Edith Hutchinson Browne.
Mrs. Fend was a homemaker. She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Fend is survived by one daughter and her husband, Beverly D. and Roy Oesterling of Butler, Pennsylvania; one grand-daughter and her husband, Pamela and Dirk Eckert of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; one grandson, David K. Peters, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; two great-granddaughters, Makenzie Peters, Nash Peters; one sister, Mrs. Norma Brennen of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fend was preceded in death by her husband, John Dave Fend, Jr. who passed away on September 27, 1983, and also by two sisters Beulah Dimun and Donna Birckbichler.

Edward H. Bopp
February 12, 1927 - March 23, 2009
Edward H. Bopp, age 82 of Central Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at 5:25 p.m. in the Butler V A Medical Center.
Born February 12, 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Leo Bopp and the late Helen Archer Bopp.
Mr. Bopp was a mechanic for Chrysler Corporation and following this he worked at Mickey and Bill's Garage located on Holyoke Road until his retirement. He was a member of St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Bopp was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Bopp is survived by his wife Sarah Maxine Varner Bopp, whom he marriage on November 12, 1947, by his two daughters, Kathy Clark and her husband Dennis and Kim McAfee and her husband Kevin, both of Butler, Pennsylvania, by four grandchildren, Sarah McAfee, Emma McAfee, Aaron McAfee, and Cody Clark.
Mr. Bopp was preceded in death by one brother.
