George E. Doutt

November 13, 1943 - March 8, 2009

George E. Doutt age 65 of Wilkins Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 6:05 a.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on November 13, 1943. He was the son of the late William R. Doutt and Clair Irene Martin Doutt.

George was a graduate of Butler High School and attended St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a member of American Legion Post #117, Butler, Pennsylvania. He was formerly a member of the Nuts Bowling League. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of Laborer's Union Local # 323, and retired in 1999.George enjoyed spending time at his camp in Clarington. He also enjoyed woodworking and traveling. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife, Reba J. Rodgers whom he marriage on October 13, 1994, one son, George E. Doutt, Jr. of Butler, by two daughters, Jean Baker and her husband Travis of Sidney, Nebraska, and Traci Oesterling and her husband Andy Kappler of Butler, two grandchildren, Aura Keefer and Hudson Kappler, by his mother, Clair Irene Martin Doutt of Butler, three brothers, Richard Doutt and his wife Esther, John Doutt, and Gary Doutt all of Butler, one sister, Janet Eileen Graham and her husband Paul of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and by several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his father and three brothers, William Doutt, Jr., Norman Doutt, and Terrance Doutt.

Friends and family of George E. Doutt will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 From 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be from the funeral home on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Western Region, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15205-4620 or to the Hospice program at Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Officers and members of The V.F.W. and The American Legion will perform Military Honors at the Cemetery.

Erma Jean Kaltenbaugh

June 7, 1939 - March 8, 2009

Erma Jean Kaltenbaugh Desmond, age 69, went to be with Jesus on March 8, 2009 at 10:13 p.m. after a courageous battle with cancer.

Erma was born June 7, 1939. She was a beloved mother to Wendy Bunney (Dan), Terri Raabe (Jim), and William Desmond II (Jeanne). She was a grandmother to Andrea Anderson (Travis), Kimberly Boyle (Bob), Danelle Bunney, Cassandra Bunney, Timothy Raabe, Johnathan Raabe, and Marki Raabe. Erma was a great-grandmother to Noah Anderson. She is also survived by five sisters and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Forrest and Ella Mae Kaltenbaugh (Bloom).

Erma was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Butler and taught the nursery class for fifty-two years. She also loved playing piano at the Lowry House. She had a kind, tender, giving and spirited heart. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Wednesday 11, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial service will be at First Baptist Church of Butler on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Youth Pastor Jeff Gwilt officiating. Burial will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church School, 221 West New Castle Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Lois Selfridge

May 16, 1937 - February 6, 2009

Lois Selfridge, age 71 of East Pearl Street, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at 5:10 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 16, 1937 in Butler, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late John Edwin Southworth and the late Florence Linnard Southworth.

Mrs. Selfridge was a nail and facial technician for several different salons in the area, and also a caregiver for area families.

Mrs. Selfridge is survived by four sisters, Jean Campbell of Concordia Lutheran Home, Lillian Shearer of Eau Claire, Pennsylvania, Connie Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Sandra Southworth of Mount Chestnut, Pennsylvania, two brothers, Larry Southworth of Charlotte, North Carolina, Richard Dale Southworth of Emlenton, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Selfridge was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Gerald Selfridge who died in January of 2008, by one brother Jack Southworth, and two sisters Ruth Hilker and Madelyn Gillespie.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend David Bright of Scubgrass Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

John Rippee

March 15, 1931 - April 2, 2009

John Rippee, age 78, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 in his home.

Born Sunday, March 15, 1931 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John J. Rippee and the late Anna Schnitzki Rippee.

Mr. Rippee was a electronic technician for AK Steel, formerly Armco. He was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church. He own and operated Rippee C.B. Radio Sales and Services. He was a life member of VFW #249, life member of Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club and a life member of the National Rifle Association. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Rippee was marriage to Ella C. Dudeck Rippee on October 17, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2006 He is survived by one sister, Patricia Piscaba of Port Orange, Florida; one brother, Eugene Rippee of Butler, Pennsylvania and by three nieces and four nephews.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, April 6, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parastas services will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Tuesday April 7, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Douglas J. Lorance of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will follow in The Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum of the Butler County Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund, 610 Hansen Avenue, Lyndora, Pennsylvania 16045.

Valda Glenn Warren,

July 22, 1919 - April 30, 2009

Valda Glenn Warren, 89, of Butler, Pennsylvania died Thursday April 30, 2009 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 22, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Roy and Estella Young Glenn.

Mrs. Warren was a life long member and past Deacon of St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church in Butler.

Mrs. Warren is survived by her children Sandie L. Swigart of New Bern, North Carolina, Gary G. Warren and his wife Linda of Springfield Virginia and Ronald Q. Warren and his wife Marla of Fairfax, Virginia., and six grandsons: Flint Swigart, Jay Swigart, Chadd Swigart, Eric Warren, Craig Warren, and Jake Warren; and seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews

Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by her husband, Lee H. Warren, her sister, Evelyn Williamson, and two brothers Keith Glenn and Kenneth Glenn.

Friends will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania from 2-4:00 p.m. and 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday May 8th, 2009.

A funeral service will be held at St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church on Saturday May 9th at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Merry H. Meloy of St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park

Edith Gills "Edie" Reddick

November 5, 19195 - April 29, 2009

Edith Gills"Edie" Reddick, age 93 of N. Main Street Extension, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Concordia at the Orchard.

Born November 5, 1915 in McCoytown, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Robert Gills and the late Ella Jean Gills.

Mrs. Reddick was a Bookkeeper for Grove City Limestone. She was a member of Christ's Outreach Church, United Methodist Women and Slippery Rock Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening and ancestry.

Mrs. Reddick is survived by three sons, James and wife Genny Reddick, William Reddick, Richard (Dick) and wife Barbara Reddick; one daughter, Loretta Ann and husband Jack Lee; 10 grandchildren, Dawn and husband Andre' Lo, Mac Reddick, Haley Reddick, Kirby and wife Lisa Lotz, Kim and her husband Michael Pradko, Sean and wife Tracy Dick, Kathy Stolsberg, Greg Reddick, Rochelle and husband Michael Koerbel, Jodi and husband Eric Kierstein; eleven great-grandchildren, Jessica and Nathan Lo, Rachel, Meghan, Joshua, Ben Pradko, Sam and Ali Lotz, Cailin Dick, D. J. Sherman, Jesse Morris, Chase, Asia, Bryce, and Mason Stolsberg, Brent Reddick, Amanda Kaz, Emily, Zachery, Austin Koerbel, Ryan, Avery Kierstein; two great great grandchildren, five nieces and ten nephews, and further survived by three step- grandchildren and eight step- great grandchildren.

Mrs. Reddick was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Roosevelt Reddick and also by one son, three brothers and two sisters, one grandchild, two great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday May 2, 2009 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on May 2, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Ken Palmer of Christ Outreach Church officiating. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Cemetery.

Ronald R. Dubuc,

April 25, 1940 - April 29, 2009

Ronald R. Dubuc, age 69 of The Lowrie House, Butler, Pennsylvania, died at 7:20 A.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at The Lowrie House.

Born Thursday, April 25, 1940 he was the son of the late Marcel Dubuc and the late Betty Greenert Dubuc.

Mr. Dubuc worked for Friedman's for 44 years as a manager in various Friedman's locations. He always considered the Brady Street store as his home base. Mr. Dubuc retired in May of 1999. Mr. Dubuc was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Butler. He was a former member of The Butler Moose and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War in Crete, Greece and at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

Mr. Dubuc is survived by one sister, . Nancy Slear and her husband Carl of Butler; two nieces, Heather Starcher and her husband David of Butler, Gretchen Hunt and her husband Craig of Butler; two nephews, Arthur Slear and his wife Stephanie of Butler, and Joshua Slear of Butler. He is also survived by five grand nieces, Megan, Mandy and Madison Hunt; Taylor and Hannah Starcher of Butler; two grand nephews, Lucas and Zachary Slear of Butler; one uncle, Robert Greenert and his wife Brenda of Butler; and numerous cousins.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday April 30, 2009 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dr J. David Panther of The First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bell Choir of the First United Methodist Church, 200 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
