Gary Richard Molnar, Esq., age 55, of New York City, previously of Gibsonia, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
Born in Pittsburgh on February 25, 1954, he was as 1972 graduate of Richland Senior High
School, a 1976 graduate of Bucknell University and a 1981 graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center of Concord, New Hampshire.
He is survived by his parents, Gabert D. Molnar and Mildred B. (Sahli) Molnar currently of Center Township, Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother, Gabert D. Molnar, Jr. of Broadview Heights, Ohio; one sister, Cynthia M. and her husband Charles A. Kuehn, Jr., of Wixom, Michigan. Also surviving are nephews, Charles A. Kuehn III of East Lansing, Michigan, and Paul D. Kuehn of Wixom, Michigan.
Friends will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dennis W. Molnar of Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Savior at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, 943 Route 910, Cheswick, Pennsylvania.

Dennis Richard "Denny" "Pap" Harp, age 60 of E. Fulton Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001, died July 22, 2009 at 4:54 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 21, 1948 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Carroll Sabold Harp and the late Gladys M. (Place) Harp.
Denny was a Methodist by faith He trained thoroughbred racehorses while residing in Hershey, Pennsylvania; he had also been a manager at Hardic Management Company. Denny was the owner of Dennis Harp Company; worked at Highland Golf Course, and he drove buses. He was a former member of Cubs Asa Hall, American Legion #778, French and Belgium Club, the Elks, Pottstown Quoit Club, Colonie Luxembourgeoise. Denny also enjoyed golfing, swimming, fishing, hunting and watching his grandchildren in all their sports. He was a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Yost) Harp whom he marriage on July 1, 1967; also by one daughter Beth Harp-Snyder and her husband Brian of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren Carrick Harp, Cameron Harp, Conrad Snyder, and Baylin Snyder of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; one great grandchild Keagan Schrecengost. Also surviving are three sisters, Gail DiCuccio of Butler, Pennsylvania, Sandy Horosky and her husband Steve of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and Debi Harp of Boyertown, Pennsylvania, three nieces; five nephews; and three sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 214 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Memorial services will be held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. with Tom Holman officiating.

Mary Ann Covert

Mary Ann Covert, age 73 of Center Drive, Chicora, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 12:45 p.m. in her residence.
Born February 16, 1936 in Butler she was the daughter of the late Elton O. Grabe and the late Elizabeth Welsh Grabe.
Mrs. Covert was a Registered Nurse for Butler Memorial Hospital. She was a member of North Butler Presbyterian Church Mrs. Covert was a Sunday School Teacher, Elder and a member of various committees at North Butler Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Butler Area Senior High School in 1954 and Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1957.
Mrs. Covert is survived by her husband, Lloyd "Snuffy" D. Covert whom she marriage on June 3 1961; by one son, Ivan and his wife Becky Covert; two daughters, Leasa and her husband Glenn Pracht and Paula and her husband Rich Moore; six grandchildren, Travis and Trisha Covert, Gage and Cassidy Moore, Rachel and Kevin Pracht; two brothers, Dutch and his wife Grace Grabe and Tom and his wife Darlene Grabe, two sisters Peggy Peters and Janice and her husband David Faust; thirteen nieces and thirteen nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday July 31, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Saturday August 1, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. with Reverend Doctor Mary Sickels Kitchen of North Butler Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.

Wilbert J. "Bill" Mowry, Sr.

Wilbert J. "Bill" Mowry, Sr., age 94 of Concordia Lutheran Care, Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of Crisswell Road Butler, PA died Monday, July 27, 2009 at 1:14 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born September 13, 1914 in Dravosburg, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John O. Mowry and the late Isabelle (Hurl) Mowry.
Mr. Mowry was a member of Middlesex Presbyterian Church since 1925 serving as a Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, and Elder. He was a Factory Representative for Dealers of Ferguson Tractor. He was a Penn Township Supervisor for 36 years and also an Auditor. Mr. Mowry was the Superintendent of the State Highway Department in Butler County for eight years, and also the Purchasing Agent for Butler County. Mr. Mowry was a Sales Representative for Winters and Fleming Paving Company for 20 years. He was President of the Butler County Association of Township Officials for 16 years. Mr. Mowry served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the State Association of Township Supervisors.
Mr. Mowry is survived by his wife, Louise E. (Dietrich) Mowry whom he marriage on November 11, 1942, by four sons, Wilbert J. "Bert" and Erma Mowry, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania, Robert C. and Ruth Mowry of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Barry D. and Deanne Mowry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Carl D. and Tammy Mowry of Butler, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Todd Mowry and Karen Clay, Greta (Mowry) and Charles Remington, Kris (Mowry) and Robert Callen, Jennifer Mowry, Diane (Mowry) and Ray Halstead, Chad and Amy Mowry, Brandon Mowry and fianc�e Tori Snyder, Kailyn (Mowry) and Andy Manfred, 10 great grandchildren, and one sister, Sara Claypoole of Worthington, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Mowry was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Services will be held at the Middlesex Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Kevin M. Bowen of Middlesex Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Carl Laverne Rettig

Carl Laverne Rettig, age 88, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11:01 P.M. in The Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on September 22, 1920, he was the son of the late Charles Adam Rettig and Mary Protzman Rettig.
He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Rettig was employed as a blacksmith in the forge shop at Butler Armco, retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during World War II. He was a member of the Tri-State Music Association and Tanglewood Senior Center. He was a member of VFW Post # 249 and American Legion Post # 778 Lyndora. He enjoyed camping.
Carl was marriage to Margaret G, Wagner; she preceded him in death on May 16, 1989.
He is survived by one son Jeffrey L. Rettig and his wife Margie of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren: Sarah Lujetic and her husband Tim, and Adam Rettig; one great granddaughter, Olivia Lujetic. One brother survives: Floyd Rettig and his wife Virginia of Butler, Pennsylvania. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Jean M. Murphy

Jean M. Murphy, age 80, of Henricks Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at 1:05 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born October 5, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Paul J. Steigerwald and Mary Conley Steigerwald.
She was Catholic by faith and was a dedicated mother and grandmother - the keeper of all her family's hearts. She loved her family and especially enjoyed watching the family grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband Edward Paul Murphy of Butler, Pennsylvania, whom she marriage on July 7, 1947. Also surviving are five daughters, Patricia Cavanaugh of Butler, Pennsylvania, with whom she made her home, Colleen Halagich of Summit Township, Pennsylvania, Deborah Houlihan and her husband, Dennis, of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, Kathleen Murphy of Ocala, Florida, Jeanne Murphy of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania; one son, Daniel G. Murphy and his wife, Cynthia, of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. Fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy Zoeller of West View, Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen Steigerwald, Catherine Naughton, and Lois Meyer, and one brother, Paul J. Steigerwald II, and a son-in-law, Michael Cavanaugh.
A remembrance service will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001. There will be visitation with the family held one hour prior. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Charles L." Chuck" Kohler

Charles L." Chuck" Kohler, age 88, of Rockenstein Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania passed away Saturday August 1, 2009 at 10:40 P.M. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 6, 1920, he was the son of the late Charles Kohler and Permilla Lippert Kohler.
Mr. Kohler was a member of St Andrew's United Presbyterian Church. He was the owner of Kohler's Mobil Service Station in Troy Hill area of Pittsburgh. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of Milnor Lodge # 287 F.& A.M. in Pittsburgh, the Pope & Young Archery Club International. He was a life member of the Butler County Pilots Association. He was a former director of the Butler Farm Show. He was the former manager of the Butler Farm Show grounds airport for thirty years. He was a sixty-five year member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He enjoyed flying, archery, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II as a captain. He trained with the Royal Air force and served in Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Joanne McDonald of Evans City, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by four nieces and two nephews.
Mr. Kohler was preceded in death by his wives Jayne Kohler, Thelma Hindman Kohler and Thelma Dunker Kohler; one sister, Ernestine Kohler and one brother, Harold Kohler and one sister-in-law, Helen Kohler.
