Robert Hilins, age 48, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania died Monday, August 10, 2009 at 12:35 a.m. in the UPMC Horizon Shenango Hospital.
Born February 24, 1961, he was the son of the late Richard Hilins and the late JoAnn Maxwell.
Robert was actively involved with Special Olympics. Robert attended various outings with his peers at The Alliance, such as picnics, dances, and amusements parks, and he enjoyed van rides. Robert loved chocolate cake, Spiderman and Batman, and Michael Jackson -- he often sang his songs. The Group home staff members were his family since he had been with them since 2002. He will be missed by all his family and friends at The Alliance and the Butler County Mental Health/Mental Rehabilitation and the Center for Community Resources. Before living at the Alliance, Robert was with ARC and will also be missed by the staff there. The staff have many fond memories of Bob when he resided in Butler.
He is survived by his sister Barbara Whipkey.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with L. Michael Winship, retired Presbyterian minister, officiating. Interment will follow in North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.
Gerald L. Roffis

Gerald L. Roffis, age 71 of Magnolia Court, Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at his residence.
Born January 12, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York he was the son of the late Calvin Roffis and the late Pauline Weinstein.
Mr. Roffis worked as a salesman for various places across the United States. He was Jewish by faith. Mr. Roffis served two tours of duty in the United States Navy. He was a past member of the John Roebling Historical Society, and several American Legions and V.F.W. 's in different areas of the country.
Mr. Roffis is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Roffis whom he marriage on October 11, 1958, two sons, Stefan Roffis, and his children, Tara and Brandon, and Samuel Roffis and his daughter, Kara.
Mr. Roffis was preceded in death by one son Michael.
There will be no public visitation.
Graveside services will be held at the Butler County Memorial Park Tuesday August 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rabbi Sara Perman of Congregation Emanu-El Israel officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Russell Trent Miller

Russell Trent Miller, age 89, of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, formerly of North Hills - Pittsburgh area, died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars, Pennsylvania
Born June 14, 1920 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Henry Miller and Mae Schrader Miller.
Before his illness, Mr. Miller enjoyed golf and fishing. He served in the U. S. Army 3rd Infantry Regiment during war time, serving in Germany mainly, and also Northern France during World War II, and he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a real estate broker and salesman in Pittsburgh for many years with Ryan Homes and Eddy Homes before retiring in 1984. He was a member of Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Perry High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1939.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Bernice Elaine (Rhodes) Miller, whom he marriage on October 3, 1964, his sister-in-law, Trudy Miller of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three nephews, Vernon H. Miller, Jr., Brandon R. Miller, and Carter C. Miller; one great niece and one great nephew.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon H. Miller.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Jeff Curtis of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Freda Helen McClaine

Freda Helen McClaine, age 88 of 620 Railroad Street, Marwood, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born Friday, January 21, 1921 in Brady's Bend, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Magee Flowers.
Mrs. McClaine was a homemaker. Mrs. McClaine was raised by her grandmother, Laura Magee. Freda enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Mrs. McClaine is survived by four sons, William John McClaine of Sarver, Pennsylvania; Keith Alan McClaine of Tampa, Florida; Joseph Kent McClaine of Marwood, Pennsylvania; and Arnold Lynn McClaine of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Nancy Emery of Spokane, Washington; Judy Miller of Worthington, Pennsylvania; Sandy Henry of Kenosha, Wisconsin. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a number of great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her beloved cats and her dog, "Ozzy".
Mrs. McClaine was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. McClaine on March 5, 1992. She was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Kenneth P. Tait, age 61 of Brinker Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 8:30 P.M. at his residence.
Born September 10, 1947 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of Robert R. Tait and Phyllis E. Beck Tait.
Mr. Tait was a veteran of the United States Air Force; and he was employed by Armstrong Utilities in the field of construction maintenance.
Mr. Tait is survived by his wife, Pamela J. Cousins Tait, whom he marriage on July 11, 1970, his mother, Phyllis E. Beck Tait of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sons, Christopher Tait and his wife, Shelley, of Littleton, Colorado and Jeffery Tait of Butler, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews, two brothers, Keith D Tait and his wife, Vicki, of Chicago, Illinois, and Daryl R. Tait and his wife, Shirley, of Karns City, Pennsylvania; one sister, Beth Cox and her husband, Ron, of Worthington, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Donna M. Hilderhoff, age 81, of Butler, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 1:10 a.m. at her daughter's residence.
Born August 2, 1928 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Jones and Hazel (Beatty) Jones.
Mrs. Hilderhoff was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Hilderhoff is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Beverly) Klinefelter, of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Dan (Lynette) Hartmann, of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Ron, Jr. and Jeffrey; three granddaughters, Gwen, Becky, and Kim; one great granddaughter, Julia; two great grandsons, Andrew and Spencer; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hilderhoff was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Hilderhoff, who passed away on March 15, 2008; and by two sons and one brother.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the church to recite the rosary.

Maxine L. Gaiser, age 85 of Kennedy Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 6:55 a.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born November 21, 1923 in Worthington, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Elmer G. Gaiser and Bernitta Bowser Gaiser.
Maxine was Protestant by faith. She was a Supervisor of the Laundry Department at Sunnyview Home, retiring after 25 years of service.
Maxine is survived by two brothers, Bill Gaiser of Key West, Florida, Wilfred Gaiser of Butler, Pennsylvania, one sister Louise Zanover of Springdale, Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Gaiser, four sisters, Virginia Brady, Marin Olear, Louise Black, and Geraldine Lipscomb.
