Helen C. Cousins, 102, formerly of 125 St. Paul's Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 14, 1907 in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William G. Eates and Mona Irene Cartwright Eates.
Mrs. Cousins was a homemaker and a truck driver with her husband. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she had been a member of the Relief Society of the church.
Mrs. Cousins is preceded in death by her son, Harry R. Frazier of Hollywood, California; two stepdaughters, Pauline F. Wazelle of Maumee, Ohio, and Marilyn J. Bradford of Silverton, Oregon; one brother, William F. Eates of Butler, Pennsylvania, her parents and by her husband, Paul B. Cousins, who died in 1978.
Friends will be received at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, 365 Sawmill Run Road Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. with Bishop Kevin Popa of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officiating. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Cemetery.

Ruth V. Graham
October 26, 1924 ~ October 20, 2009
Ruth V. Graham, 84, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at Sunnyview Nursing Home at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Paul L. Graham, and his wife, Betty, of Renfrew, and Dennis L. Graham and his wife, Gloria, of Butler.
Mrs. Graham is also survived by four grandchildren; Dennis L. Graham, Jr. of Butler; Sharon E. Christy, and her husband, Brian, of Butler; Andrew P. Graham and his wife, Laura, of Cabot; and Michele M. Napoletan, and her husband, Robert, of Butler.
Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Jessica A. Graham of Cabot; Travis R. Ritenour of Butler, Troy A. Ritenour of Butler, and Alexandra M. Graham of Cabot; and three step great grandchildren; Breann Christy of Butler, Ryan Christy of Butler, and Nicole Napoletan of Butler. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Graham was a homemaker and was employed at the former Murphy's Store on Main Street in Butler. She was of the Lutheran faith.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, working in her flower gardens, and feeding and watching the birds and animals that came to visit her.
She was a wonderful and caring mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always there to listen to us and help us in anyway she could. Her love deepened even more for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and all those who have been touched by her presence. The love she shared and the great memories she gave us will be forever in our hearts.
Her husband of 56 years, Paul. L. Graham, whom she marriage June 17, 1944, passed away October 1, 2000. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Louise Graham, a sister, Dorothy Mae Wigton, and three brothers, Carl L. Wigton, Clyde E. Wigton, and Dean L. Wigton.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Dollhopf officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
Valjean M. Ross

Valjean M. Ross, age 70, of Cottonwood Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Thursday, December 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ellsworth C. McCandless and Edna M. Timblin McCandless.
Ms. Ross was a Homemaker and a Protestant by faith.
Ms. Ross is survived by her son, John and his wife, Robin Tiedt of Butler, Pennsylvania; her brother, James McCandless of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Valjean Tiedt and Tyler Tiedt of Butler; three sisters, Sally Criley of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, Joan Jacobson of Butler, and Ella Mae Schoentag of Cabot, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Ms.Ross was preceded in death by a brother, Ellsworth McCandless, Jr.

Harry W. "Bill" White

Harry W. "Bill" White, age 68, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at 7:32 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born January 15, 1941 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Carl. E. White and Margaret M. Miller White.
Mr. White was a tool and die maker at Magnetics in East Butler, Pennsylvania, retiring in 1999. He attended Hill United Presbyterian Church. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served nine years. Despite being wheelchair bound, Bill was an inspiration through his many volunteer activities.
He was a life member of the Bantam Marine Corps League, Detachment #743, and was a life member of VFW Post 249. Mr. White was a former president of the Kiwanis, a former board member of the Historical Society, and Site Director of the Heritage Center in Butler. He was a member of the Bartramian Audobon Society, and he volunteered at the VA Medical Center in Butler.
Mr. White is survived by one son, Christopher and his wife, Kelly White of Toledo, Ohio; two daughters, Heather and her husband, Ian Halper of Mars, Pennsylvania; Holly and her husband, Jay Palmer of Chillicothe, Ohio; four grandchildren, Zachary White, Rayna Halper, Ethan Palmer, and Andersen Palmer. He is also survived by his beloved friend and companion, Dixie S. Reimold of Butler, Pennsylvania; his brother, Carl, Jr. and his wife, Lois White, of Chandler, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. White was preceded in death by one brother, Walter White, and one sister, Carrie Stewart.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies located in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. Officers and members of Bantam Marine Corps League, Detachment #743 will conduct military services following the funeral service.

John K. Smith, age 48, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at his residence.
Born June 24, 1961 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Francis Smith and Shirley Davis Smith.
Mr. Smith was a Generator Technician for Alternative Power Source of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Smith enjoyed go-kart racing, and he had a kind heart and would help anyone.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Janet Linden Smith, one son, Benjamin Smith of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Natalie Smith of Butler, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Luanne and her husband, Bob Murphy, of Maryland; Debra and her husband, Mark Wagner of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; and Mary Margaret (Peg) and her husband, John Harrington, of West Virginia; three brothers, William and his wife, Meg Smith of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; Jim and his wife, Sandy Smith, of Ohio; and Tom and his wife, Tracey Smith, of Georgia. Also surviving are his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Irene Linden of Economy Borough, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are five nieces and two nephews.

Judith "Judie" Carol Roudybush

Judith " Judie" Carol Roudybush, age 70, of Rushford Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in her home on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 6:15 P.M.
Born October 18, 1938 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Jurysta and Julia Onufrak Jurysta.
Judie was a graduate of Butler High School and attended Butler County Community College. She was a licensed cosmetologist, and was the owner/operator of a styling salon, Styles by Judie, retiring in 1993. She also had worked in the deli department of the former Kroger supermarket and was owner/manager of The Castle Restaurant in Butler.
She was a member of Christ's Outreach Church and The Freedom of Choice in Cancer Therapy Organization.
Judie especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed homemaking, Bible study, researching and practicing alternative medicine and nutritional healing. She also enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, square dancing, and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, H. Gary Roudybush, whom she marriage on August 7, 1990.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Donny Bayne of Butler, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Theresa Ellenberger and her husband, Ronald, of Prospect, Pennsylvania; Colby Imbrie and her husband, Gary Aldrich, of League City, Texas; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Hay of Butler; and one daughter-in-law, Becky Bayne of Butler. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Ronald Ellenberger Jr., Brandy Sarvey, Thomas Bayne, Sarah Bayne, and Erin Imbrie; three step grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hay, Casey Hay, and Kassidy Hay; and two great grandchildren, Matheu Sarvey and Mitchel Sarvey. She is also survived by one brother, Joseph A. Jurysta II, of Butler, and twelve nieces and eighteen nephews.
Mrs. Roudybush was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters; Albert Jurysta, Helen Kelly, Theresa Erkens, Alice Morrow, Irene Holben, and Suella Robb. She was also preceded in death by one nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Christ's Outreach Church.

Barbara L. Crawford Beggs

Barbara L. Crawford Beggs, 67, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot, Pennsylvania after a courageous three and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was the devoted and dearly loved mother of three sons, Timothy and his wife, Lori, and granddaughter, Sarah; Daniel and his wife, Christina, and granddaughter, Lauren -- all of the Butler area; and Mark E. Beggs of Montgomery, Alabama.
Barbara was the daughter of the late J. Delmar and Kaethe Strothman Crawford. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Crawford Frey Gillespie of Sewickley, and her brother, James D. Crawford and his wife, Peggy, of Fort Myers, Florida. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews and many supportive, helpful, and loving friends of long years.
Barbara was a past member of Butler County Mounted Sheriff's Posse, past member of Butler County Soccer Organization, past member of Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels, and a present member of Sandycreek Conservancy Inc. of Franklin, Pennsylvania. Ms. Beggs was a graduate of Perry High School in Pittsburgh, and she also attended Butler County Community College.
Barbara was a wholesale florist supply sales representative for Keystone Ribbon & Floral Supply of Pittsburgh, retiring in 2008.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Butler, Pennsylvania.
We will always remember and honor Barby's cheerfulness and sense of humor, her devotion to her family and friends, her deep love of the outdoors -- gardening of lovely flowers and wonderful homegrown vegetables, her gift for creating magnificent needlework, the great joy she found in cooking and baking for those she loved, and especially for always creating a cozy, welcoming home. A truly, loving heart and soul has returned home to God -- all of us remaining here will never be able to fill the void.
