Armand R. Cingolani, Jr. age 75, born July 2, 1929 of Butler, died October 25, 2004 at 10:50 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Home. He was a prominent trial attorney accomplished in civil, divorce, criminal and appellate litigation. He was a life long member of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Armand graduated from Butler High School in 1947, Georgetown College of Arts and Sciences in 1951 and Georgetown University’s School of Law in 1953. Then he wed the elegant and beautiful Jane Ellen Blissell and was immediately inducted into the United States Army. He performed his service obligation as a military policeman during the Korean War. Armand was admitted to the practice of law in Butler in 1956 and conducted a multi-disciplinary practice until May 26, 1998 when he suffered a traumatic brain injury after over 43 years of practice. He worked with his father A. R. Cingolani, Sr. in the firm of Cingolani and Cingolani which was first established in 1925.
Throughout his school years he was active in theatre, debate, and the arts. Armand excelled in portraiture and painting. He met his wife in high school where both were finalist in the art show. Together the couple traveled the world and especially enjoyed sailing at Lake Arthur, the Chesapeake Bay and the Caribbean Sea. Ellen and Armand were marriage for 43 years until her death on February 26, 1996. Armand enjoyed H.O. model railroading and the Oshkosh Air show. His avocation was the practice of jazz music. He was a gifted pianist and played in several groups throughout his life. He studied advanced jazz piano until the end of his life.
Along with his gentle nature and sense of humor, Armand had an exceptionally acute intellectual ability and a relentless curiosity about the world and humanity. He was a listener and dedicated his life to serving his clients. Bringing together deep reasoning skills with broad learning he was a formidable adversary in a courtroom and an experienced negotiator.
He had three children, Armand R. Cingolani, III, Esquire of Butler, Pennsylvania, Joan Carol Roth of Delray Beach, Florida and Paul W. Cingolani of East Quogue, New York. Armand had five grandchildren, Armand R. Cingolani; III is the father of Armand R. Cingolani, IV, Joan is the mother Kira and Keenan Roth and Paul is the father of Miles and Logan Cingolani.
His father Armand R. Cingolani, Sr. and mother Clare Lucille Cingolani nee Koch predeceased him in May 1983 and February 1996 respectively. Armand was one of four children, and he is survived by his brother Charles L. Cingolani of Hoechenschwand, Germany, John K. Cingolani of Butler, Pennsylvania and Nancy Sofis of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He is survived by four nieces and three nephews.
Friends will be received at Thompson-Miller funeral home on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Butler, Pennsylvania.

Dolores L. Cumberland
June 28, 1926 - October 24, 2004
Dolores Leanore Cumberland, age 78 of Mar-Vel Drive, Butler, Pa, died Sunday, October 24, 2004 at 1:05 p.m. at 125 Mar-Vel Drive.
Born Monday, June 28, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Olney and the late Alice Hobby.
Mrs. Cumberland was a homemaker. She was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church in America. She taught two year olds in Sunday School for 16 years. She attended Houghton College in Houghton, New York.
Mrs. Cumberland is survived by three sons, Robin Cumberland of Ashtabula, Ohio, Christopher Cumberland of Butler, Pennsylvania, Joel Cumberland of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Mrs. George (Deborah) Hoover of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Darryl (Shelley) Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Brad (Colleen) Magill of Melbourne, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, a brother, Parker Olney of Tampa, Florida Number of nieces and nephews;
Mrs. Cumberland was preceded in death by She her husband, Vernon Roy Cumberland and, and by brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on no public visitation.
Services will be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America Tuesday, October 26, 2004 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. H. Curtis McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Ronald Lefever
December 29, 1925 - August 13, 2003
Ronald L. Lefever, 77, of Butler passed peacefully into eternity Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 29, 1925, in Renfrew, he was the son of Floyd and Anna Wachsmuth Lefever.
He had been a millwright in the galvanizing department at Armco-Butler Works for 44 years. He was an avid hunter and gardener and enjoyed woodworking.
Mr. Lefever was a member of the Community Alliance Church, where he was active as a former deacon and trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Risch Lefever, whom he marriage June 10, 1949; a son, Ronald B. Lefever and his wife Sandie of Butler; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Donald Bost of Irwin, Nancy and Frank Caliguri of Lower Burrell and Darlene and Louis Butern of Sarver; nine grandchildren, Megan and Adam Bost, Kelli and Chrissy Caliguri, George and Tiffany Hyek, Vinnie Butera and Ashley and Hunter Lefever; and a great-grandchild, Lauren Roche.
Also surviving are two brothers, James and Larrie Lefever, both of Renfrew; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margie Ifft of Evans City and Doris and Jack Bicehouse of Renfrew; and a number of nieces and nephews.
LEFEVER - Friends of Ronald L. Lefever, who died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Krajacic officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.

Helen R. Murphy
June 24, 1923 - October 23, 2004
Helen Richardson Murphy, age 81 of Bonniebrook Home, formerly of North Duffy Road, Butler, Pa, died Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Sunnyview Home.
Born Sunday, June 24, 1923 in Mount Chestnut, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert Newton Richardson and the late Mary Weitzel Richardson.
Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by two daughters, Diane Murphy, and Mrs. Charles (Karen) Mesner both of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Murphy was marriage to James Murphy, Jr. on September 8, 1948 he preceded her in death on October 26, 1988. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.

Melanie A. Merrison

Melanie A. Merrison, age 57 of Sunnyview Home, formerly of Wallula Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 4:00 a.m. in Sunnyview Home.
Born Friday, December 27, 1946 in Phoenix, Arizona, she was the daughter of the late Newell W. Freeman and the late Dorothy Kilmer Freeman.
Mrs. Merrison was a former nurse's assistant for Passavant Health Care Center in Zelienople, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the former Faith Reformed Church, the Center Avenue PTO where she had held the office of president, and a former member of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Merrison is survived by two daughters, Stacy Lyn Merrison and Nicole Merrison both of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grand-daughters, two brothers, Douglas N. Freeman of Parker, Colorado, and Jeffrey D. Freeman of Missoula, Montana; on sister, Mrs. Graham (Patricia) Clarke of Littleton, Colorado and by many nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation for Mrs. Melanie A. Merrison, her family will announce a memorial service to be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.

Ruth M. Wagner, age 76 of Box 173, Eau Claire, Pa, died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 7:20 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Friday, October 28, 1927 in Millvale, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John W. Allerton and the late Lillian A. Johnson Allerton.
Mrs. Wagner was a homemaker. She was a member of East Unity United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by Husband, Arthur Eugene Wagner; two Daughters, Mrs. Terry (Christine) Irwin of Dover, Ohio, Mrs. Christopher (Patricia) Hortert of Branchton, Pennsylvania; Six Grandchildren, Three Great Grandchildren, one Brother, Dwight Allerton, Florida and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.
