Shirley H. Turk, age 82, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:05 p.m. at her residence.
Born June 28, 1927 in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank Noel and Stella Noel.
Mrs. Turk was the former co-owner, with her husband, James, of The Hoagie Shop in Butler, until 2005. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and flowers. Shirley's salvation is with Jesus Christ. She found her strength in Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint."
Mrs. Turk is survived by her husband, James A Turk, whom she marriage on September 25, 1950 ; one son, Shannon R. Turk of Butler, one daughter, Sheri Frenchak of Butler, one grandson, Travis Frenchak of Butler, one granddaughter, Andrea Turk of Butler, one great-grandson, Jonathan Turk of Butler, one great-granddaughter, Shannon Rae Turk of Butler, three sisters, Winifred McGarrah, Carol Noel, and Douna Hoag, all of Butler, and three nieces and two nephews.
Mrs. Turk was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Audrey Maxine (Bachman) Richardson

Audrey Maxine (Bachman) Richardson, age 79, of Hidden Meadows Circle, Renfrew, Pennsyvania, died Monday, February 8, 2010 at 1:30 a.m. in her home.
Born June 12, 1930 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Henry John Bachman and Hilda Nellie (Risch) Bachman.
Mrs. Richardson was a graduate of Slippery Rock State University, where she received both her Bachelor's degree and Masters degree. She was an elementary teacher for the Butler Area School District at the Connoquenessing School; she retired in 1992. She was a member of the Butler Area School Retirees, the Pennsylvania Area School Retirees, Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Meridian Area Retired Citizens. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she formerly was a Sunday School teacher, and was an active member and past president of the Women of the Church. Mrs. Richardson enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, and doing crossword puzzles. She also had been a Girl Scout leader.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband, Clyde Richardson, whom she marriage on October 23, 1951, and by two daughters, Beverly Rikal and her husband, Mark, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Gwen Pesci and her husband, Richard, of Butler; four grandchildren, Jarrad Rikal of Goodletsville, Tennessee, Neal Rikal of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Megan Pesci of Slippery Rock, and Chad Pesci of Butler; one brother, William Bachman of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Shirley Stewart of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Phyllis Harper of Palmyra, Pennsylvania; and by seven nieces and twelve nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara, and four brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Services will be held at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Nancy Thompson

Nancy Huth Thompson, age 75 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 12:32 p.m. in the West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Born July 7, 1934 in Butler, she was the daughter of Joseph Francis Huth and Hazel Grace Mellinger.
Mrs. Thompson had worked for Butler Savings and Trust, Friendship Federal, and Landmark Savings, which later became Citizens National Bank, holding several different management positions. She retired on June 30, 1996 as Manager at the Main Street Branch of Citizens National Bank. She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Thompson was treasurer on the Board of Directors of Butler County Jr. Miss for 33 years. She also was on the boards of the Salvation Army and the YWCA. In her early years she was a Sunday school teacher and later a former member of the Board of Deacons at her church. She was a member of the Maqueda Chapter #421 Order of the Eastern Star, the Hill Church 100th anniversary committee, a member of GFWC Intermediate League of Butler. Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1952.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by one brother, Joseph Huth, II and his wife Joann of Butler, Pennsylvania; one sister, Margaret Meeker and her husband, Doug, of Powell, Ohio; two step-sons Robert C. Thompson and his wife Kelli of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Todd A. Thompson and his wife Linda of Bloomington, Indiana; two granddaughters, Erin Deviny and her husband Mark, of Lighthouse Point, Florida, and Alexandra D. Thompson of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandsons, Spencer Thompson of Butler, Pennsylvania, Quintin C. Thompson of Bloomington, Indiana, Adrian J. Thompson of Bloomington, Indiana, Ian R. Thompson of Butler, Pennsylvania, and one niece, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Thompson whom she marriage on May 2, 1970 and who passed away on June 3, 2008.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Hill United Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church and Reverend John Porter of Meridian United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Mary Lou McClymonds

Mary Lou McClymonds, age 76, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 9:06 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia.
Born April 26, 1933 in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Allen H. Locke and Elizabeth I. Dodd Locke.
In her earlier years, Mrs. McClymonds taught in the elementary schools for the Butler Area School District. Later, she was the manager for the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Lyndora. Mrs. McClymonds was a member of Whitestown Road Baptist Church in Butler and she was very active in her church. She was also a member of Tanglewood Senior Center in Lyndora.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Allen and his wife, Selena McClymonds of Butler, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Pam and her husband, John McKivigan of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Linda and her husband, Rick DeSantis of Tampa, Florida; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; three sisters, Darlene Tidball of Robinson Township, Pennsylvania; Ruby and her husband, Don Tidball of Robinson Township, Pennsylvania; and Clover McCullough of Irwin, Pennsylvania; and her sister-in-law, Grace McClymonds of New Castle, Pennsylvania.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. McClymonds, who she marriage in 1957; he died on January 15, 1985.

Oliver Klaus Euler

Oliver Euler, also known as Klaus Raible, age 25, of Evans City Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 3:24 a.m. at his home.
Born September 9, 1984 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Karl Heinrich Euler and the late Conny Raible, who preceded him in death.
He worked in construction and he was a carpenter for Ja-Mag Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and traveling to Germany. He attended Montessori School in Butler, Portersville Christian Academy, and Butler High School. He won numerous awards for marksmanship skills. He loved his dogs, Nugget and Treu. Klaus had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Klaus is survived by his wife, Amy Albert, his father, Karl Heinrich Euler, his brother Ben and sister, Desiree, all of Germany; his grandmother, "Oma" Gisela Maxwell of Butler, and his great-grandmother, "Oma" Fuchs. He is survived by his Aunt Kathy and Uncle Gerry Galloway, Uncle Mike and Aunt Kathy Raible, in addition to his Great Uncle Raimund and Aunt Cathy Fuchs. He is also survived by his grandparents, Omja Monika and Opa Luey Euler and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Germany and the United States.

Marian E. Campbell
July 20, 1934 ~ February 13, 2010
Marian E. Campbell, age 75, of Highland Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Born July 20, 1934 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Clifford N. Baker and Eleanor M. Dunbar Baker.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, which is now Grace @ Calvary. She was a longtime member of the Leith Sunday School Class at the church and in her earlier years had been involved in all of the church's activities. She was also a longtime supporter of Seneca Hills Bible Camp. Marian had been employed by Mellon Bank in the Personnel and Installment Loan Departments and she was a buyer and manager for the Hallmark Department at Butler Family Drug Store from 1971-1988; she retired from there in 1988.
She was a member of the Butler Women's Club and a leader with the Butler YMCA Teens. She enjoyed the annual vacations at the beach with her family. Marian also enjoyed spending time flower gardening and taking numerous art classes. She also was an avid Hallmark Ornament collector. Marian was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband, Robert F. Campbell; whom she marriage on June 2, 1956; by two sons, David V. Campbell of Mt. Lebanon and Bruce A. Campbell of Butler; one daughter, Karen Lee Harpel and her husband, Jim, of Butler; four grandchildren, Tony Harpel, Samantha Harpel, Jacob Campbell and Christopher Campbell, all of Butler, and one brother, C. Bruce Baker, also of Butler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara J. Swigart.
Friends and family of Marian Campbell will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be from the funeral home on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with family friend and neighbor, David Fox, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Elizabeth "Betty" Lackey
March 17, 1916 ~ February 13, 2010
Elizabeth "Betty" Lackey, formerly of North Monroe Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died on Saturday February 13, 2010 at 8:25 p.m. in Newhaven Assisted Living.
Born on March 17, 1916, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Buchter and Marie Gruber Buchter.
Mrs. Lackey was a pioneering leader in the establishment of developmental and career opportunities to advance the lives of mentally handicapped persons. Because of her love for her son Tommy and broader concerns for all children with mental challenges, Mrs. Lackey became active with the Pennsylvania Association of Retarded Children and was active in leadership of the Butler Chapter of PARC. In 1956 her efforts led to opening of the first Sheltered Workshop on Cunningham Street, and over subsequent years the Workshop occupied several locations. In 1967, through the efforts of Mrs. Lackey and others, the Workshop was awarded permanent space in the former Butler Post Office building, a facility that serves as home to the Sheltered Workshop to this day. In 1966 Mrs. Lackey was elected Secretary of the Pennsylvania Association of Retarded Children, a position she held for two terms. She and her husband, Don Lackey, were marriage in 1955, and both held leadership positions in the Butler Chapter, PARC over a period of more than ten years beginning in 1967. Elizabeth was an avid golfer, swimmer, and bridge player, an activity she continued until recently.
Mrs. Lackey is survived by her daughter Linda Lackey and her husband, Christopher Umble, of Gibsonia; two nieces, Nancy Hanks Burnett of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Elizabeth Buchter Bernhardt of Palo Alto, California; two nephews, John Buchter of Savannah, Georgia, and Denning Buchter of Whiteville, North Carolina; and a sister-in-law Mary Ann Buchter of Wilmington, North Carolina. She is also survived by a great niece, Kristen Bonnet; and three great nephews, Kevin Buchter, Michael Buchter, and John Karl Buchter.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lackey was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Lackey, in 1995, by her son, Thomas Seaburn, a sister, Ann Buchter Hanks, and two brothers, Thomas Buchter and Henry F. C. Buchter.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., and from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
Services will be held at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Father James W. Dolan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
