Albert E. Worsley, Jr., age 79 of, White Oak Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:46 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia surrounded by his loving family.
Al was born and lived his life in the South Hills of Butler, Born May 26, 1931 he was the son of the late Albert E. Worsley Sr.and Anna E. Hawthorne Worsley.
Al graduated Butler High In 1949. Mr. Worsley joined the the United States Air Force in 1950.He was an aircraft and engine mechanic and a propeller specialist. He served in Alaska, and Libya where he spent time recovering downed aircraft during the Korean War
Al drove for Western Auto and Raabe Construction, and was a welder at Pullman Standard. The rest of his working career was spent as the president of Worsley, Inc. in downtown Butler. He was a honorary member of the American Legion. Al had a rare sense of humor and wit that he enjoyed sharing with everyone he met.
Mr. Worsley, Jr. is survived by his wife, Lorraine K. Oesterling Worsley whom he marriage on October 6, 1956, and also by two daughters, Keri Alaine Dolan and her husband, Sean and Cheryl Worsley Simms and her husband Jayme; six grandchildren: Brent Rothen, Cerise Rothen, Michael Simms, Ashton Dolan, Brandon Dolan, and Joshua Lundgren- Dolan, three great grandchildren Zion Opperman, Anthony Buzzelli, Zachary Rothen, one sister, Frances Jean Brackett; Many nieces and nephews. He also survived by his dog Bonkers who he walked faithfully everyday.
Mr. Worsley was preceded in death by one brother, James Worsley.
Al was very proud to be the last person to walk across the South Main Street Viaduct before its demolition. In his own words Al lived an ordinary but good life.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday October 26, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial Will Be Celebrated on Wednesday October 27, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St Paul Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
St. Paul's Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:30 A.M. On October 27, 2010 at the church to recite the Rosary
Members and Officers of American Legion Post #117 will conduct Military Services at the Cemetery.

Phillip David Hilliard

Phillip David Hilliard, age 32 of Cemetary Road, Hilliards, Pennsylvania, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at 6:15 a.m. at his residence.
Born July 11, 1978 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of Randall D. Hilliard and Terri L. Brittner.
Phillip graduated from Moniteau High School in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion #243 in West Sunbury. He was self-employed in excavating and construction. He had a special love for operating heavy equipment that he learned from his Pap, Fred. Phillip loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating; especially riding quads with his son, Austin. He loved animals and had pet horses, dogs and cats. He was so kind-hearted, always happy and smiling and ready to help anyone in need..
Mr. Hilliard is survived by his parents and step-parents, Randall D. and Jennifer L. Hilliard and Terri L. Brittner and her husband Thomas; his companion, Sabrina Maire; one son, Austin Maire-Hilliard; two step-daughters, Britney Maire, Shania Maire; one brother, Michael J. Hilliard; two step-sisters, Holly E. Brittner and Roxanne E. Welter; two step-brothers, Thomas W. Brittner, Jr. and Alexander J. Welter; grandparents, David and Shirley Hilliard; grandfather, Fred McKnight; and a number of Uncles, Aunts and cousins.
Mr. Hilliard was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marion McKnight.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., on October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. J. David Panther of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn.

Sandra L. "Sandi" Koziar, age 64 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, October 29, 2010 at 2:52 p.m. in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 29, 1946 in New Castle, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Wayne Harmon, and Sarah (Aspinall) Harmon Hallstein.
Mrs. Koziar was a Secretary for Herr-Voss in Callery, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed her family and friends, crocheting as well as playing cards with her card club and watching birds.
She is survived by two sons, David R. John and his wife Lisa and Joseph B. John, both of Butler, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Jodie L. Halin and her husband Joshua of Butler, Pennsylvania and Deana R. Palla and her husband Thomas of Chicora, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Hannah John, Chad Spahn, and Brent Spahn; her mother, Sarah Hallstein and her husband Edward, of Grove City, Pennsylvania; one brother, Douglas Harmon and his wife Cindy of Butler, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Carrie Barr and her husband Jim of Grove City, Pennsylvania, Deborah Jordan and her husband Ron of Callery, Pennsylvania, and Jennifer Harmon of Evans City, Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mary E. Lefever, age 82 formerly of Oakdale Road, Butler, Pennsylvania died November 15, 2010 at Ross Memory Meadows in Leechburg, Pennsylvania. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully entered the gates of heaven.
Born August 18, 1928 in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William B. Risch and Minty Risch.
Mary was a member of Community Alliance Church. She enjoyed quilting, baking, poetry and flower gardening. Mary was an alumni of Butler High School graduating in 1946. She often looked back fondly to reminisce about her family and friends.
Mrs. Lefever is survived by one son, Ronald B. Lefever and his wife, Sandie of Butler, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Carol Bost and her husband, Donald of Irwin, Pennsylvania, Nancy Caliguri and her husband, Frank of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, and Darlene Butera and her husband, Louis of Sarver, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Megan McCartney, Adam Bost, Kelli Fortuna, Christine Schantz, George and Tiffany Hyek, Ashley and Hunter Lefever, and four great-grandchildren and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lefever was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Ronald L. Lefever whom she marriage June 10, 1949 and passed away on August 13, 2003 and also by two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dennis L. Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Florence M. Reed

Florence M. Reed, age 86 of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, formerly of Center Township died Friday, November 26, 2010 at 1:20 a.m. in the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
Born January 4, 1924 on the former Held Farm in Mars, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Arthur H. Held, Sr. and Mary O. Blakeley Held.
Mrs. Reed was honorably discharged in March 1946 from the United States Navy, where she served in the Waves, during World War II and in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Grace/Martin's Secretarial School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a 1 year diploma and was a secretary - stenographer for American Bridge Company. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She belonged to AARP in Mars and enjoyed working and being around horses and the great folks involved with them. She loved bird watching and nature walks in the woods.
Mrs. Reed is survived by one son, Gregory and his wife, Paula Reed of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Nancy Jean and her husband Edward Heintz of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania; one brother, August E. Held of Mt. Home, Arkansas; two sisters, Jean Ella Rapp, of Ohio, Nancy L. McCafferty, of Ohio; seven nieces, nine nephews, and twenty-one great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Reed whom she marriage on December 6, 1946 and whom passed away November 23, 1982; two brothers, her twin Edwin L. Held and Authur H. Held, Jr.
There will be no public visitation. Private Funeral Services were held. Interment took place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Emma M. (Greer) Miller

Emma M. (Greer) Miller, age 94 of, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 6:15 a.m. in the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born October 17, 1916 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John A. Greer and Garnet A. Goughler Greer.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church and a former member of Women of the Moose in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Miller is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. and her husband, George Stevenson of Butler, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Karissa M. Wolfe of Butler, Pennsylvania; two great-grandchildren, Codie Stevenson and Colton Stevenson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. "Pete" Miller whom passed away February 14, 1994; one grandson, Patrick Stevenson; two sisters; and one brother.
There will be no public visitation
A Memorial Service will be held at the First English Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend James W. Dollhopf of First English Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the First English Lutheran Church, 241 North Main Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
James E. Eury
July 27, 1942 ~ November 22, 2010
James E. Eury, age 68, of Beech Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, November 22, 2010 at his residence.
Born July 27, 1942 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Eury and Noreen Weiland Eury.
Mr. Eury was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He retired from AK Steel in 2004, where he was a welder. He was also a member of the National Guard.
Mr. Eury is survived by three brothers, Ronald, Edward and Richard Eury, all of Butler Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Eury was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Mazurick Eury whom he marriage on November 20, 1976 and whom passed away December 9, 2009; one brother, Charles Eury; and one infant son, James Matthew Eury.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Jim Campbell, retired pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church, officiating.
