Lois Reisch Weber, age 88, formerly of Indiana, Greensburg, Butler, and Erie, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 11:00 p.m in the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, Pennsylvania.
Born July 23, 1921 in Southington, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Otto Reisch and Minnie Weckworth Reisch.
Mrs. Weber was a 1943 Cum Laude graduate of Wagner College. She was a homemaker and assistant to her husband who was the pastor at various Lutheran churches. She was a member of Seaman Memorial Lutheran Church in Zelienople. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, PARC, and in the early seventies she helped bring people into the mainstream from mental facilities. She volunteered for Emmaus Soup Kitchen while in Erie, which helped feed the hungry. She also volunteered at St John's Lutheran Home in Erie. She was a past president of WELCA and was a longtime Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Weber is survived by her husband, Rev. Reinhold(Dutch) Weber, whom she marriage on May 17, 1943; one daughter, Judy Schuster of Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, Mark Weber and his wife, Lynette of Jacksonville, Florida; Rick Weber and his wife, Eleanor of Butler; and Tae Ro and his wife, Linda of Youngstown, Ohio; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Reisch and his wife, Sybil of Westport, New York, and Jack Reisch and his wife, Kathryn of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; and by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 2, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church where Pastor Weber served for 19 years, on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Thomas M. Pierotti of Trinity Lutheran Church and Reverend Wil Goetze and Reverend John Hoogerbrugge of Passavant Retirement Community officiating.

William G. "Bill" McKinney

William G."Bill" McKinney, age 92, of Butler, Pennsylvania, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 2:25 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born September 19, 1917 in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George S. McKinney and Anna Belle Christie McKinney.
Mr. McKinney was an Operator and Furnace Tender in the Anneal and Pickling Department for Armco Steel, retiring in January 1980 after 36 years of service. Mr. McKinney was a member of First Baptist Church of Butler, where he belonged to the Berean Adult Sunday School Class. He belonged to the Armco Veterans Club, National Rifle Association, Pistol and Rifle Association, and the North American Hunting Club.
Mr. McKinney is survived by his beloved wife, Helen G. (Davis) McKinney, whom he marriage on April 8, 1951; two brothers, Fred L. McKinney of Boydstown, Pennsylvania and Donald E. McKinney of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews, and the shared daughters of his life long friend the late John Nichols; Debbie (Sam) Broad, Delores (Dennis) Rood, and Judy (Ron) Hemphill.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Florence L. Hays
March 27, 1914 ~ April 12, 2010
Florence L. Hays, age 96, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:40 a.m. at the Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville, Pennsylvania.
Florence was born March 27, 1914 in Renfrew, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late Clinton Rimer and Mary McClelland Rimer.
Florence was a homemaker and also worked at Troutman's Department Store for many years, and she was a member of Christ Outreach Church in Butler, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by one son, Gerald Hays of California, one daughter, Carol Cyktich of Florida, five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence S. Hays, who passed away on April 29, 1962; one son, one daughter, one grandchild and two brothers.
Florence will be laid to rest next to her husband at Glade Run Cemetery, Middlesex Township. There will be no visitation or funeral services.
The family suggests any memorial donations be sent to the Butler Area Public Library 218 North McKean Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Maurice E. Abbott

Maurice E. Abbott, of Hidden Meadows Circle, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:50 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Tamworth, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late William D. Abbott and Alta Nickerson Abbott.
Mr. Abbott was a member of Meridian Vets Club. He attended Kennett High School in Conway, New Hampshire. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he held the rank of Second Lieutenant, serving during wartime at various Air Force bases in the United States.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Abbott, whom he marriage on May 12, 1951; one son, Steven W. Abbott of Cary, North Carolina; one daughter, Hollis L. Chepponis of Valencia, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Jaclyn Chepponis of Valencia; and one grandson, Tyler Chepponis of Valencia.
Private services are being held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. at the family's convenience. Interment will follow in Chocorua Cemetery, Chocorua, New Hampshire.

Paulette A. (Paula) Zaliponi, age 58, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 5:20 p.m. at her residence.
Born April 12, 1951 in Herrin, Illinois she was the daughter of the Harry E. Daily and Louise A. Simac Daily.
Mrs. Zaliponi was a homemaker and also worked as an Associate at Wal-Mart.
Mrs. Zaliponi is survived by her husband, Rodney D. Zaliponi of Butler, three sons, Christopher Lee and his wife, Selena McMichael; Aaron Matthew Zaliponi, and Trevor Ryan Zaliponi and fiancee, Shawna Smith, all of Butler; one granddaughter, Amelia Rose McMichael; her mother, Louise A. Daily of Butler; one sister, Laura A. Daily of Butler, one brother, Patrick and his wife Patricia Daily of Clifton, Virginia; and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Grace Naomi Leasure

Grace Naomi Leasure, age 87, of Sunnyview Home in Butler died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 7:15 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 17, 1923, in Edinburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Parish and Marie Myers Parish.
Mrs. Leasure was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She retired in June of 1985 from Penn Champ, where she worked on the assembly line. She was active in the Duffy Road Card Club for over fifty years, and in addition to cards, she was an avid bingo player and bowler.
Mrs. Leasure is survived by two sons, Paul W. Leasure and Lawrence R. Leasure, both of Butler; three daughters, Mrs. David "Kathleen" Haunty and Sandra Burke, both of Butler, and Mrs. John "Joanne" Sullivan of Lexington, South Carolina; one brother, Richard Parish of Las Cruces, New Mexico; nineteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Leasure was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Leasure, Sr., who she marriage on January 15, 1942 and who passed away on April 1, 2005; one son, three brothers, two sisters, two granddaughters and one great grandson.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Harris of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Cremation and burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery.

Lois Ruby Oesterling

Lois Ruby Oesterling, a long time Butler resident, died Thursday evening, April 8th in Roanoke, Virginia. She was born in Prospect, Pennsylvania in 1916, and was the daughter of the late Willis E. Ruby and Della Weigle Ruby of Butler.
Lois was a long time member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, The Eastern Star, DAR, and The Butler Country Club, where she was an excellent bridge player and an avid golfer.
Surviving are her three daughters and husbands, Susan and Gilman Smith of Frisco, Colorado; Karen and Michael Taylor of Moneta, Virginia; Betsy and Ralph Grant of Shelton, Connecticut; and one sister, Mrs. John V. (Ruth) Schweppe of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Lois leaves a legacy of nine grandchildren: Kimberly Smith Schorr, Stephanie Smith Salter, David Smith, Eric Taylor, Marc Taylor, Michelle Taylor Gibson, Abigail Grant Brennan, Jessica Grant Stanciu, Andrew Grant, and twenty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, W. Clyde Oesterling, who passed away on January 9, 1994; one sister, Madeline Ruby Bixler; one brother, Eugene Ruby; two granddaughters, Lisa Taylor and Jennifer Taylor, and a great grandson, Nicholas Salter.
Viewing and services will be held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, with Rev. Dr. Alan Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at North Side Cemetery.
