Amelia Ann "Minnie" (Butler) Vogel, age 78, died at 2:14 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born in Butler on September 21, 1931 she was the daughter of Ann Douglas Munro Butler and Edgar Houserman Butler.
She was marriage on December 12, 1953 to Arthur Joseph Vogel, who passed away February 21, 2003.
Amelia was a Registered Nurse and a 1952 graduate of Butler County Memorial Hospital. She worked at the Butler Memorial Hospital until retirement in 1991. She was a member of the Butler County Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association. She was very active in children's organizations and enjoyed sewing and camping.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur William (Bill) Vogel of Butler; Timothy Joseph (Tim) Vogel and his wife, Patricia Kradel Vogel, of West Sunbury; a granddaughter, April Ann Vogel, of West Sunbury; a sister, Mary Josephine (Jody) Johnston, of Butler; a brother, Grant M. Butler, of Plantation, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Loveina M. Butler and Catherine Sampson, a brother, Eddie H. Butler and a daughter-in-law, Pamela George Vogel, all preceded her in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Ginger Ditulio officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Harry P. Rumbaugh
July 25, 1932 ~ June 15, 2010
Harry P. Rumbaugh, age 77 of Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, died June 15, 2010 at 8:59 p.m. in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Born July 25, 1932 in Kaylor, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Wilbur P. Rumbaugh and Helen McElhaney Rumbaugh.
Mr. Rumbaugh was a manager of Ames-Murphy Stores retiring after 47 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and also attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in America in Butler, Pennsylvania. Mr. Rumbaugh was a member of the V.F.W. Post #249 and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Rumbaugh is survived by his wife, Rachel Snyder Rumbaugh whom he marriage on February 14, 1958, and also by one daughter, Sharon Morgan and her husband Michael of Circleville, Ohio; one son, David B Rumbaugh of Butler, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Matthew and Melissa Morgan and Deleana Rumbaugh and one great grandson, Keith Morgan.
Also surviving are eight brothers; Walt Rumbugh and his wife Emiley from Harrisville, Pennsylvania, Lee Rumbaugh and his wife Cheryl of Cabot, Pennsylvania, Richard Rumbaugh and his wife Rose from Chicora, Pennsylvania, Bernard Rumbaugh and his wife Diane from Chicora, Pennsylvania, Robert Rumbaugh and his wife Dolly from Chicora, Pennsylvania, Alvin Rumbaugh and his wife Tanya from Chicora, Pennsylvania, Jack Rumbaugh and his wife Cathy from Cabot, Pennsylvania, Dennis Rumbaugh and his wife Leann from Butler, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Virginia Rumbaugh and Lois Rumbaugh from East Brady, Pennsylvania, and Maxine Smith and her husband William from East Brady, Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Walt Coopersmith of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Officers and members of the American Legion Post #778 and the VFW Post #249 will conduct a graveside military service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ruth A. Kniess Sutton
January 14, 1916 ~ June 15, 2010
Ruth A. Kniess Sutton age 94, of Naples, Florida formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania died unexpectedly on, June 15, 2010 at 10:28 a.m. from Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Florida.
Ruth A. Kniess Sutton was born in Butler, PA (Center Twp.), January 14, 1916, the daughter of the late Bert W. and Ethel V. McCandless Snyder.
She graduated from Butler High School at the age of 16 in 1932 and graduated from Slippery Rock Normal School in 1934. Mrs. Sutton began her illustrious 48-year teaching career in 1934 at the age of 18. She retired in 1986.
Mrs. Sutton was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Butler where she was a choir member, Board of Christian Education Member and Sunday School teacher. Ruth taught Sunday School for 52 years. In her earlier years, she was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Prospect where she was church clerk for 20 years and a youth leader.
Ruth had a beautiful soprano voice and sang many solos at church, weddings and funerals.
Mrs. Sutton was a life member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees(PASR); a member of the Butler County Association of School Retirees and a member of the GFWC PA Woman's Club of Butler.
Surviving are her daughter, Ilagene F. Ruff (with whom she resided) and one granddaughter, Leann R. Burkholder, both of Naples, Florida. Also surviving are two stepsons, Randall L. Sutton of Houma, LA and Jeffrey A. Sutton of Centreville, Virginia; 3 stepdaughters, Mrs. James(Debora) Bright of Butler, Mrs. Donald (Pamela) Drane of Valencia and Mrs. Thomas (Maryann) Maher of Slippery Rock; eight step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ernest L. Kniess who died on August 16, 1962, her second husband John F. Sutton who died on December 9, 1992; two sisters and one brother.
Friends will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Sunday, June 20, 2010 from 12:00 (noon) to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Todd Wentworth from First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Clarence L. "Curly" Timblin

Clarence L. "Curly" Timblin, age 90 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at 9:12 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Born December 10, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son the late Edward Timblin and Myrtle Thompson Timblin.
Mr. Timblin was a life member of Community Alliance Church and former Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, and Governing Board member. He also was a member of the Church Choir. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army serving in the South Pacific. He retired from Butler Armco Steel Company after 42 years of service.
Mr. Timblin is survived by four daughters, Gloria and her husband Harry Frenchak of San Antonio, Texas, Sandra Amos of San Antonio, Texas, Kerry and her husband Roger Wells of Houston, Texas, and Konny Wellington of San Pablo, California; four sons, Randy and his wife, Patti Timblin of San Antonio, Texas, Rick and his wife, Diane Timblin of State College, Pennsylvania, Jim and his wife Jan Brys of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Ron and his wife Dorothy Brys of Austin, Texas; fifty-four grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Pearl VanScooten of South Pasadena, Florida and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Timblin was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam B. Timblin whom he marriage on November 12, 1971 and passed away on January 9, 2008 and two sisters and two brothers.

Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis L. Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating. Internment will follow in Mount Royal Cemetery.

Beulah Grace Kerestes

Beulah Grace Kerestes, age 98 of Lincolnton, North Carolina, formerly of Carbon Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died June 22, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. in the Levine Dixon Hospice in Huntersville, North Carolina.
Born February 4, 1912 in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. Wayland and Mary Mae (Hadden) Wayland.
Mrs. Kerestes was a homemaker. She had also been employed at Sylvania Electric Products. Mrs. Kerestes has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1946. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting and other handiwork.
Mrs. Kerestes is survived by five daughters, Janet and her husband William of Alvey of Lincolnton, North Carolina with whom she made her home since October, Judy and her husband William Warhola of Westminster, Colorado, Linda and her husband Joseph Varos of Sarasota, Florida, Avanell and her husband Lee Mock of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Mary Ellen and her husband William Thomas of Pembroke, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, four sisters, Edna Jones of DuBois, Pennsylvania, Mary Ruth Larimer of Luthersburg,, Pennsylvania, Helen Heist of Stuart, Florida, and Catherine Ament of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kerestes was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Yonker who passed away in 1935, and also by her second husband, John D. Kerestes who she marriage in 1943 and passed away October 15, 1968. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Yonker, one sister, Velma Broker and one brother, Robert Wayland.

Clifford A. Gallagher

Clifford A. Gallagher, age 85, of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, went home to be with Jesus, at 5:40 p.m. on June 26, 2010 from the VA Medical Center of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Gallagher was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on April 9, 1925 to the late Alvin J. and Helen E. (Snyder) Gallagher.
Mr. Gallagher retired from Pullman Standard. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the European Theatre during WWII. He was a member of Community Alliance Church and lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 249, Butler, Pennsylvania. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing, and playing pool.
Mr. Gallagher is survived by his loving wife, Jane K. (Miller) Gallagher, whom he marriage June 8, 1955. He is also survived by two sons, Clifford A. (Julie) Gallagher, Jr. of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Kevin L. Gallagher of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Phyllis Bentley of Butler, Pennsylvania and Nancy (Eric) Bogan also of Butler, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gallagher is preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, Donald and Bernard Gallagher.
