James Leroy "Jim" Allen, age 81 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 3:15 p.m. at his residence.
Born January 11, 1929 in Center Township, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John L. Allen and Florence Moore Allen.
Mr. Allen was a Brick Layer for Butler Armco where he retired in 1989 after 31 years of service. He enjoyed boating.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Allen whom he marriage on October 9, 1954, one daughter, Mary Lou and husband Denny Thompson of Karns City, Pennsylvania; two sons, Dennis Allen of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Robert Allen of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania; two grand-daughters, Jennifer and her husband Jason Long of Bean Station, Tennessee, and Lauren Davis of Karns City, Pennsylvania; one great-grand-daughter, Madison Long.
There will be no public viewing or funeral services. Interment was in Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville, Pennsylvania.

Mary Lou Choff, age 64, of Miles Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born August 30, 1946, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Clarence Miles and Gladys McCracken Miles.
She was a Homemaker and a member of North Main Street Church of God.
She is survived by her mother, Gladys Miles of Butler, Pennsylvania; one son, Keith A. Choff of Chicora, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Kelly D. Jewart and her husband, Lane of Chicora, Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren, Cassandra Jewart, Darien Jewart and Alex Choff, all of Chicora, Pennsylvania; one sister, Bonnie Bronchak of Butler, Pennsylvania; three nephews, Steven Miles, Joe Bronchak both of Butler, Pennsylvania and Kevin Bronchak of Florida; and her companion, Bill Maurer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Miles and one brother, James Miles.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend David Brown of North Main Street Church Of God officiating. Interment will follow in South Plain Grove Cemetery.

Katherine Mary Emrick, age 59 of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, died September 20, 2010 at 11:55 p.m. at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 9, 1951 in East Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Robert Paul Vandervort and Betty Manny Vandervort.
Katherine worked for Magnetics for sixteen years, following which she owned and operated the Happy Trails Equine Center. She was foster mother, she loved to show quarter horses and was active in the American Quarter Horse Congress. She was a very merciful and giving woman, taking many people in on different occasions.
Katherine is survived by her parents; two sons, Jim and his wife Crissy Emrick of Butler, Pennsylvania, Rocky Emrick of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Kassie Emrick of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren, Jimmy, Justin, Jesse and Dusty; one brother, Paul Vandervort of Dayton, Pennsylvania; one nephew, Joe and his wife Steph Vandervort; one niece, Bobbi Jo Vandervort.
Katherine was preceded in death by one brother, Robert E. Vandervort.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial Services will be held at the Happy Trails Equine Center, 1241 Martin Road, Kittanning, Pennsylvania 16201 on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Applebee of the Alliance Church in Kittanning, officiating.

Betty Genevieve Lauchack, age 88 of Brackenridge, Pennsylvania, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania died September 20, 2010 at 6:59 a.m. at the Applewood Personal Care Home.
Born April 14, 1922 in Westover, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Raymond Edwards and Audrey Ruth Westover Edwards.
Mrs. Lauchack was a Homemaker and a member of Whitestown Road Baptist Church in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Lauchack is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Wanda Kresich of Springdale, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Frances Rae Harrity of Harwick, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lauchack was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Lauchack, who passed away November 10, 1995.

Lois M. Andres, age 90 of Butler, Pennsylvania, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away September 20, 2010 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 18, 1920 in Evans City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Walter Spithaler and Sara Ramsey Spithaler.
Mrs. Andres worked for Castle Rubber in East Butler, Pennsylvania. She was a member of North Main Street Church of God and the Keenagers Class at the church..
She will be deeply missed by all who have known her. Mrs. Andres is survived by her husband, Paul Andres whom she marriage on April 15, 1943; her son, Dean P. and his wife Mona Andres of Butler, Pennsylvania; her daughter, Lynda Andres of Butler, Pennsylvania; her granddaughter, Tami Elliott of El Paso, Texas; her grandson, Terry Andres of Butler, Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn and his wife June Spithaler of Valencia, Pennsylvania, and Ralph and his wife Marie Spithaler of Rochester, Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends and family describe her as being the sweetest person they have ever known. She has always shown unconditional love, serving the Lord at all times.

Margaret Elizabeth Cockroft Baumgart, age 92, passed away at VNA Inpatient Hospice on September 12, 2010 at 2:55 a.m.
She was born April 8, 1918 in Alberta, Canada to the late John Emmett Cockroft and Margaret Robinson Cockroft Collins.
Mrs. Baumgart worked in the food service department for Butler Area School District. She was a member of St. Peters Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, puzzles, cards, and most important, her loving family.
Mrs. Baumgart is survived by son, Norbert J. (Gabriele) Baumgart of Warren, Pennsylvania; daughters, Mary Lou Barnes of Butler, Pennsylvania, Cecilia Kennedy and her husband Thomas of Butler, Pennsylvania, Catherine Kohlmeyer and her husband Gregory of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Carolyn Kudamik and her husband Gregory of New Hill, North Carolina; sister, Grace Fay of Butler, Pennsylvania; Fifteen grandchildren; Twenty two great grandchildren; One great-great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert P. Baumgart, whom she marriage February 6, 1937 and who preceded her in death on March 3, 2001 One son; Thomas Richard Baumgart, her son in-law; Jack Barnes, four brothers; and two sisters.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on Saturday September 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Father Steve Neff officiating.

Allene M. Montag

Allene M. Montag, age 84 of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, died Friday, September 17, 2010 at 2:40 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia.
Born May 5, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Walter J. Montag and Alma F. Bruner Montag.
Miss Montag was a life long member of Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, deaconess and organist. She was a Registered Nurse for Butler Memorial Hospital retiring in 1992. Miss Montag graduated from Presbyterian University School of Nursing in 1947 and received a B.S. in nursing from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953.
Miss Montag is survived by a number of cousins.

Interment will follow in Saxonburg Cemetery.
