Donald P. Hutchison, age 80 of Van Mar Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 9:19 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 12, 1924 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Deurelle L. Hutchison and the late Marie M. Dunn.
Mr. Hutchison retired as the foreman of the press department of Pullman Standard in 1984. Also in his earlier years he worked for Montgomery Wards and Creighton Paul's Appliances in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the St. John's Reformed Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the 11th Airborne 187th medical detachment from 1943 to 1946, serving in the southwest Pacific theater, including New Guinea and the Philippine Islands.
Mr. Hutchison is survived by wife, Mrs. Garnet Wilson Hutchison; a son, D. James Hutchison of Butler, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Kathy) McClaine of Butler, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Timothy (Mary Ann) Miller of New Port Richey, Florida; two grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hutchison was preceded in death by an infant son and one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 30, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, December 31, 2004 11:00 A.M. with Chaplin Henry B. Hall, the chaplin of the VA Medical Center, officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.
Norabel Smith
May 25, 1921 - December 24, 2004
Norabel Ruth Leech Smith, age 83 formerly of Headland Road, Butler, died Friday, December 24, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
Born May 25, 1921 in Hyde Park, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late James Allen Leech and the late Daisy Grinder.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a teacher for Butler School District. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, Pennsylvania, member of the Christian Women's Club and the Cabot Chapter of the Lutheran's for Life.
Mrs. Smith is survived by three sons, Jeffrey P. Smith of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, F. James Smith of Norwich, Ohio, A. Randal Smith of Butler, Pennsylvania, Daughter, Mrs. Robert S. (Lynn Ann) Hageter of Butler, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, sister, Mrs. Mary Grace King of St. Marys, Pennsylvania; brother, James Leech of Leechburg, Pennsylvania; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd J. Smith on September 9, 1991 and by an infant daughter.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Barry Keurulainen officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's R. C. Cemetery.

Frances R. White
May 17, 1915 - December 22, 2004
Frances R. White, age 89 formerly of Butler and Ellwood City, died Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 4:10 p.m. in Britt Haven North Chase Nursing Home.
Born May 17, 1915 in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Harry V. Stone and the late Zolla White.
Mrs. White was a social worker for State of Pennsylvania. She was a member of Wrightsboro United Methodist Church in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Mrs. White is survived by two sons, Donald W. White of Delmar, New York, John J. White, Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, brother, Roland Stone of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania and by Number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, John J. White who passed away on May 3, 1992 and by a daughter, two sisters and three brothers.
Friends will be received at Christ Community United Methodist Church, Duffy Road, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at the Christ Community United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Oden Warman officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Alice Bossard
June 7, 1914 - December 21, 2004
Alice Bossard, age 90, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at her residence.
Born Sunday, June 7, 1914 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln Bossard and the late Caroline Mueller Bossard.
Miss Bossard was self-employed as a cleaning person. She was a life long member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She sang in the church choir for 50 years, she was a member and chairman of the Naomi Circle, King's Daughter Sunday school class, and she was active with the community dinners - Katie's Kitchen, a member of St. Mark’s E.L.C.A.W. and she taught Sunday school for many years as well as volunteered in the church office.
Miss Bossard is survived by her sister, Katherine Bossard of Butler, Pennsylvania
Miss Bossard was preceded in death by three sisters, Clara, Violet and Mathilda Bossard.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 30, 2004 from 2 to 4.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday, December 30, 2004 following visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Philip W. Williams, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.

June 19, 1921 - December 21, 2004
June L. Bash Sherman, age 83 of Chicora Medical Center formerly of North Duffy Road, Butler, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 4:45 p.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born June 19, 1921 in North Braddock, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Clifford Bash and the late Lydia Golighty.
Mrs. Sherman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. She was also a member the Butler and National A.A.R.P. and member of the Tanglewood Senior Center.
Mrs. Sherman is survived by three sons, Roger A. Sherman of Butler, Pennsylvania, Robert W. Sherman of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, Gary L. Sherman of Butler, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sherman was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Sherman who passed away on April 3, 1987, and by six sisters and four brothers.

Irene H. Nichols
January 17, 1920 - December 18, 2004
Irene H. Nichols, age 84 of 160 East Brewster Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 5:14 p.m. at the home of her daughter with whom she resided.
Born January 17, 1920 in Connoquenessing she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Fehl and the late Irene H. Duncan.
Mrs. Nichols was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, member of the Berean Sunday School Class, Woman's Missionary Fellowship and the Church Choir and Church Missions board. She taught J.O.Y. clubs and the primary children's Sunday school class. She enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking and sewing.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Judy A.) Hemphill of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Dennis (Delores I.) Rood of North Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Samuel (Debra J.) Broad of Butler, Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Betty Shields of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Ella Dean of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Diane Fennell of Butler, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nichols marriage her husband, John H. Nichols on March 2, 1940; he preceded her in death on August 15, 1996. She is also preceded in death by two sisters and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, December 20, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, December 21, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church Wednesday, December 22, 2004 1:00 p.m. with Reverend David Maitland officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
