Joseph Alfano Sr., 60, died March 28 in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Aug. 9, 1942, in Aliquippa, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose Alfano.
He was a member of the St. Titus Catholic Church in Aliquippa and a United States veteran, who proudly served in the Navy for four years.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Alfano and wife Gina of Cranberry Township and Frank Alfano of Baltimore, MD; one daughter, Lisa Claus and husband Leland of Butler; one brother, John Alfano and wife Janis of Greenwood, Ind.; two sisters, Rose Riccardi of Lynbrook, NY, and Dina Fayad and husband Jim of Aliquippa; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family were received in the Darroch Memorial Chapel in Aliquippa.
Internment followed at the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery .
Hiles
Wanda Hiles, 62, of Mars and formerly of Sharpsburg, died March 30 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in the Town of McCandless after an illness.
Born in Evans City on March 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Mae Covert Eldridge.
She had been a deli clerk at Food Gallery in Fox Chapel and enjoyed needlecraft and gardening.
Surviving are her friend of 18 years, Louis Panza of Mars; one daughter, Victoria Gallagher of Harmony; one son, William Hiles of Harmony; one brother, Daniel Eldridge of Evans City; and one granddaughter, Sarah Hiles.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Eldridge, and a grandson, Lawrence Hiles.
A memorial service was held April 2 with the Rev. Rosalyn Kummer officiating.
Rupkey
Charles Rupkey, 79, a Middlesex Township resident and formerly of Sharpsburg, died April 4 at his residence.
Born in Quantico, Va., on Feb. 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Charles and Olive Pearl Knight Rupkey.
He was a retired boilermaker, working for the Union as well as various other companies.
He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills.
Mr. Rupkey was also active as a member of the Holy Sepulcher Knights of Columbus Council 10175.
He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Surviving are his companion, Evelyn Bradt; a daughter, Vivian Coward of Valencia; a grandson, Richard Coward of Valencia; two sisters, Peggy Scherer of Key West, Fla., and Shirley Brandt of Laurel, Md.; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn McGivern of Sharpsburg and Dolores Blausen of Russelton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belsito Rupkey, whom he married on Sept. 14, 1945, and who died July 29, 1998, four brothers and one sister.
Friends and family were received April 6 at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted April 7 at Holy Sepulcher Church in Glade Mills.
The Rev. John Mahoney officiated.
Burial was in Northside Catholic Cemetery in Ross Township.
Stepp
Mary Stepp, 90, of Cranberry Township, died May 18 at Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community.
Born Aug. 15, 1912, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Elizabeth Miller Walter.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Sharpski, Gibsonia; a son, Richard Stepp, Sarasota, Fla.; a grandson, Rick Stepp, and his wife Rebecca; a granddaughter, Laurel Stepp; and a great-grandson, Alexander Stepp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Stepp, who died Dec. 28, 1994.
Memorial services were held May 23 at Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community.

Schleich
William Schleich, 78, of Middlesex Township, died May 16 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in the Town of McCandless.
Born in Pittsburgh on May 20, 1924, he was the son of the late William A. and Margaret Vogeler Schleich.
Mr. Schleich was a store manager for the various Pittsburgh area Isaly’s Stores for more than 41 years.
He was an Army veteran of WWII and was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Varga Schleich, whom he married Sept. 29, 1947, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
There was no visitation. A private blessing service was held at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Maloney, pastor of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial was in Mars Cemetery in Adams Township.
Repp
Pauline Hunley Repp, 80, of Akron, Ohio, and formerly of Pine Township, died May 23.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Repp Jr.
Surviving are four sons, Ronald Repp of Silver Lake, Ohio, Dennis Repp of Cranberry Township, Kenneth Repp of Elyria, Ohio, and Gary Repp of Akron, Ohio; one daughter, Donna Dudones of Ravenna, Ohio; two brothers, Paul Hunley of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Lloyd Hunley of Grand Junction, Colo.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Hunley, and a sister, Estelle Johnston.
Friends were received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home May 26.

Bader
Annette Bader, 86, of Gibsonia and formerly of Valencia, died May 29 in St. Barnabas Nursing Home after an illness.
Born in Millvale on May 5, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Clara Scheffler Eckert.
She was a member of the Valencia United Presbyterian Church and the Mars AARP.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bader, and a brother, Nicholas Eckert.
A private entombment was in the Temple of Memories Mausoleum at Allegheny Cemetery in Pittsburgh.

Dunlap
John F. Dunlap, 83, of Monongahela and formerly of Mars, died May 30 at Monongahela Valley Hospital after an illness.
Born in Warrendale on June 21, 1919, he was the son of the late John H. and Janet Ziegler Dunlap.
He was a retired mechanic for Greyhound Bus Company and was a World War II Army veteran.
He belonged to the Mars United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jon Dunlap of Monongahela, and two granddaughters, Nicole Taylor and Natalie Dunlap.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Fred Dunlap.
Friends were received at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home Saturday. Funeral services were Monday. Burial was in Mars Cemetery in Adams Township.
Hespenheide
Bernadine Hespenheide, 84, of Mars, died May 30 at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars after an illness.
Born in Butler County on April 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary VanKampen DeWinter.
Educated through eighth grade in a one-room schoolhouse, she was a 1937 graduate of Mars High School. She married the late Kenneth Hespenheide in 1940, with whom she operated the family farm until 1960.
She later worked for the Mars Area School District, Planet Realty, Turnblacer Realty, Merril Lynch Realty and Prudential Preferred Realty, where she was an award winning sales agent.
A lifelong resident of Mars, she grew up in Treesdale Farms. She was a den mother in Cub Scouts, was a member of Mars American Field Service and, after her retirement, was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Central Blood Bank.
She was a longtime member, elder and trustee of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars, where she was a senior high Sunday school teacher and a member of the church women’s quilting group.
Surviving are a son, Fred Hespenheide, and his wife, Linda, of Mars; a daughter, Linda Shoemaker, and her husband, Bruce, of New Providence; two sisters, Vinnie Ziegler of Pittsburgh and Marion Green of Venice, Fla.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Theodore DeWinter, and two sisters, Ruth Brunermer and Dee Dunn.
A memorial service was held Sunday at St. John Lutheran Church in Mars, with the Rev. Robert Riggs officiating.
Burial was in Mars Cemetery in Adams Township.

McNeely
Katherine McNeely, 87, of Cranberry Township, died June 3 at Mariner Health Care of North Hills in Wexford.
Born Nov. 5, 1915, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Beatrice Lotti Balotti. She was the wife of the late Clarence McNeely.
Mrs. McNeely was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church and served on the funeral committee. She was a member of the Mars chapter of AARP.
She is survived by a daughter, Aleita Wilson of Cranberry Township; two brothers, Elmer Balotti of Confluence and Al Lorenzi of Cannonsburg; two sisters, Rose DiFiore of Robinson Township and Nellie Vigliotti of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Tamara Blazer, Tricia O’Shea and Trent Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Owen Blazer and Shannon O’Shea.
Friends were received Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Cranberry Township with the Rev. Joseph Newell officiating.
Entombment was in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pleasant Hills.
