Mrs. Nellie M. Hunt, 95, of New Castle died at 7 a.m. Sunday at Hill View Manor.
Born Aug. 11, 1905, in Slippery Rock Township, she was the daughter of Robert and Jennie VanHorne White.
She worked as a day care worker at the Day Care Center in Butler, as a teacher at the Aiken School in Butler, and was the co-owner and operator of the Grocery Store in Butler.
She is survived by her children, Robert Hunt and C. Everett Hunt, both of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hunt, who died in 1975; and by four brothers.
HUNT - Friends of Nellie M Hunt, who died Sunday, June 10, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at TURNER-MYERS FUNERAL HOME, 208 N. Jefferson St., New Castle. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Hammond, pastor of Faith Country Chapel in New Castle, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery , New Castle.
Oliver G. Hile
Oliver G. Hile, 88, of Karns City died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born June 6, 1913, in East Brady, he was the son of William A. and Margaret Minnie May Crawford Hile.
He was a Protestant.
Mr. Hile was a member of the Pennsylvania Sheriffs Association, Local 6346-25 of the USWA, the Butler County Horseshoe League and Chicora Moose Lodge 962 and a social member of Bradys Bend American Legion Post 488.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes and bowling. He also enjoyed playing softball, and during his younger years had played in various softball leagues, where he earned the reputation of being an excellent pitcher.
He had worked at Koppers, now INDSPEC, in Petrolia for 28 years, and retired as a pipe fitter in 1975.
Surviving are three sons, Robert G. Hile of Karns City, and William J. and Barry L. Hile, both of Chicora; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and A number of nieces and nephews.
His wife, M. Grace McElray Hile, whom he married Sept. 16, 1934, in Karns City, died Sept. 4, 1992. Four brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Chicora Moose Lodge 962 will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rose Yeager Cox
Rose Yeager Cox, 85, formerly of McCandless, died Saturday at her home at Sherwood Oaks Care Community, Cranberry Township.
Born Feb. 19, 1916, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Gottlieb and Rose Bulla Yeager.
Along with her husband, she had owned Twin Oaks Golf Course in McCandless.
Mrs. Cox was a member of the Wexford Community Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, J. Sam Cox, died in 1990.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. A.J. (Ellen) Husak of Pittsburgh and formerly of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Love of Passavant Retirement Center, Zelienople; two nephews; and two grandnieces.
COX - Friends of Rose Yeager Cox, who died Saturday, June 9, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at GLENN-KILDOO CRANBERRY CHAPEL, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. Eugene Russell Arthurs
Eugene Russell Arthurs, 79, of Middlesex Township died Friday at Passavant Hospital.
Born June 13, 1921, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Joseph Ellsworth and Bertha Elizabeth Haskins Arthurs.
He was a retired terminal manager for Helms Express.
He belonged to the Traffic and Transportation Association of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Arthurs was a U.S. veteran, serving in the Navy Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Church and a lifelong member of the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Sovyak Arthurs.
Also surviving are two sons, Dean Arthurs of Middlesex Township and Dale Arthurs of Cabot; a brother, Joseph Ellsworth Arthurs of Charleston, W.Va.; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
ARTHURS - A memorial Mass for Eugene Russell Arthurs, who died Friday, June 8, 2001, will be held at 10 a.m. June 19 at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church. The Rosary will be prayed one-half hour before the service. Father John Maloney will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Sepulcher Church Building Fund, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, Pa., 16002.

John A. Badger
John A. Badger, 69, of Portersville died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born Nov. 21, 1931, in Butler County, he was the son of George Alfred and Elizabeth Carrie Bauder Badger.
He retired in 1985 from the Pennsylvania Game Commission after 27 years.
Mr. Badger was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Portersville and also attended the Portersville Bible Church. He also belonged to Ducks Unlimited and the Masonic Lodge of Harmony.
He was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Frances Stevick Badger, whom he married April 17, 1954; two daughters, Mrs. William (Pamela) Barr and Mrs. Charles (Deanna) Arnett, both of Gaithersburg, Md.; two sons, John Jeffrey Badger of San Francisco, Calif., and Eric Edwin Badger of Portersville; and three grandchildren.
A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
BADGER - A memorial service for John A. Badger, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Portersville Bible Church. The Rev. Michael Charles, church pastor, will officiate. There will be no public visitation, and a private graveside service will be Thursday at the Presbyterian Church of Portersville Cemetery .

John Dominsky
John Dominsky, 71, of 808 E. Jefferson St. died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Saxonburg, Nov. 3, 1930, he was the son of Joseph and Eva Cherkis Dominsky.
A 1948 graduate of Butler High School, he retired from the City of Butler Sign Department after 30 years and he retired from Walsh Equipment Co. after 25 years.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, and the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Dominsky was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a charter member of the Prospect American Legion Post.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ida DeFrancisis Dominsky; two sons, Larry John Dominsky of Olean, N.Y., and Jeffery James Dominsky at home; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Linda) Musko of Butler; a brother, Michael Dominsky of Prospect; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Panteleo of Aliquippa and Mrs. Virginia Fallecker of Butler; and four grandchildren.

Ashley Nicole Deal
Ashley Nicole Deal, the 2½-year-old daughter of Scott Patrick and Teressa M. Horstman Deal of Hemlock Road, Petrolia, died of leukemia at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday at her home.
She was born in Butler, May 8, 1999.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandparents, Danny and Theresa Kiley Deal of Portersville; and her maternal grandparents, Rick and Shaunee Stewart Horstman of Fenelton. Also surviving are her paternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Sarah Deal of Fairview; her maternal great-grandparents, Mary and Thomas Horstman of Butler and Nancy Olesnevich of Sarver; her maternal great-great-grandmothers, Margaret McMillen of Buffalo, N.Y., and Irene Matson of Meadville; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carol L. Probst Lawver
Carol Louise Probst Lawver, 67, of Zelienople died Tuesday at Passavant Hospital, McCandless.
Born Nov. 5, 1934, in Allison Park, she was the daughter of Rudolph A. and Madalene Wise Probst.
She was a Protestant.
Ms. Lawver was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are three daughters, Leslie D. Lawver of Oveido, Fla., Lynn D. Musthaller of Cranberry Township and Lori D. Climo of Portersville; four sons, Larry D. Lawver of Oveido, Lee D. Lawver of Valencia, Lon D. Lawver, of Cranberry Township and Lyle D. Lawver of Easton, Northampton County; 17 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A brother, Ronald Probst of Arkansas, also survives.
A son and two brothers preceded her in death.

Helen M. Leinenbach
Helen M. Conrad Leinenbach, 94, of 110 Marquis Lane died Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
A lifelong resident of Herman, she was born June 28, 1907, in Summit Township to John W. and Rosalie Neigh Conrad.
She retired as a bread baker at St. Fidelis Seminary in Herman after 20 years.
Mrs. Leinenbach was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church of Herman and the Christian Mothers of the parish.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph R. Leinenbach of San Diego, Calif., J. Bernard Leinenbach of Herman and James A. Leinenbach of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Helen R. Oesterling of Meridian; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
Three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Rose Marie) Grossman of Saxonburg, Mrs. Harry (Mary Ann) Hein of Butler and Mrs. Suzanne Klotz of Lakeworth, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Her husband, Joseph S. Leinenbach, died Oct. 28, 1978. Four brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Herman. The Rev. Lester Knoll, O.F.M. Cap., church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at the church Cemetery .
Members of St. Mary Parish will hold a vigil service at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Annabelle Lee Marte
Annabelle Lee Marte, 60, of 233 Vogel Road died at 10:10 a.m. Monday at her home.
Born in Kellersburg, Armstrong County, July 17, 1940, she was the daughter of Lester Ellsworth and Flossie Margaret Young Sanford.
She was a 1958 graduate of Redbank Valley High School, New Bethlehem, where she had been an All-State basketball champion. She was a 1961 alumna of Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh; received a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1976 from Slippery Rock State College, now Slippery Rock University, and her master’s degree in nursing from Duquesne University in 1977.
Mrs. Marte retired as associate chief of nursing services at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She previously worked at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Butler Memorial Hospital and the Highland Drive Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
She received the Distinguished Liaison Award from LAHEC representing the Butler VA Medical Center.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Pennsylvania and American Nurses associations, the American Red Cross and Sigma Theta Tau honorary nursing fraternity.
She had been a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed crafts, traveling and dancing and belonged to the Butler Two Steppers.
From 1962 to 1968, she served with the U.S. Army in Germany, Fort Dix, N.J., and Hawaii and was a captain.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Jay G. Marte, whom she married Aug. 24, 1967; a daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Jennifer Ann) Patton of Harrisville; a son, Timothy Jay Marte of Spring, Texas; and two granddaughters.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Gale (Elsie) Hopper of Templeton, Mrs. David (Geraldine) Krause of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Gallo of New Bethlehem; and a brother, Paul Sanford of Templeton; and Mrs. Miriam Craig of Callensburg, Mrs. Carl (Barbara) McCall of Parker, and Mrs. James (Sandra) Olson of Seneca, all who provided care during her early life.
An infant brother preceded her in death.
