George R. Walter Sr., 71, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Jacksonville.
Born in Walter Chapel, Allegheny County, March 14, 1932, he was the son of Clifford and Ida Mae Graham Walter.
Mr. Walter had been a laboratory technician at Alcoa in New Kensington and Union Carbide in Parma, Ohio, and retired in 1994 from Magnetics in East Butler.
Surviving are a son, George R. Walters Jr. of Butler; five daughters, Mrs. Richard (Susan) Jefferson of Portersville, Mrs. Randall (Loraine) Plair of Jacksonville, Mrs. Brian (Jessie) Ray of Butler, Mrs. John (Teresa) Walthen of Sturbridge, Mass.; and Patricia McKain of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a sister, Ruth McEmeel of California. Eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
His wife, Betty Huselton Walter, whom he married Aug. 9, 1951, died Dec. 7, 2001.
Twelve brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Lillian C. Miller
Lillian C. Miller, 66, of Saxonburg died at 7:14 p.m. Sunday as the result of an auto accident.
Born April 20, 1937, in Carnegie, she was the daughter of Dominic and Dora Julian.
She was a homemaker and a former volunteer at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Miller, whom she married June 6, 1963; six daughters, Mrs. William (Deborah) Allison of Renfrew, Lynne Lukasik of Lake Placid, Fla., Mrs. Randy (Donna) Stephenson of Butler, Mrs. Tony (Kimberly) Lechner and Mrs. Tracy (Leslie) Reedy, both of Cocoa, Fla., and Mrs. Andrew (Susan) Miller-Griest of Mars; two sisters, Suzanne Morasca of Pittsburgh and Elizabeth Digiacomo of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Three brothers preceded her in death.

Jeanette C. Lang
Jeanette C. Lang, 99, of Saxonburg, formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday at Saxony Health Center.
Born in Leechburg, April 12, 1904, she was the daughter of John and Florence Lessig Johnston.
She was a retired telephone operator and a member of the Sarver Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Virginia Sosovicka of Sarver; and a number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lang, who died in 1969; two brothers and four sisters.
LANG - Friends of Jeanette C. Lang, who died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Guy Bonetti
Guy Bonetti, 79, of Clintonville since 1960, formerly of Boyers, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday at UPMC Northwest, Franklin, after a long illness.
Born in Boyers, April 15, 1924, he was the son of James and Minnie “Diane” Bonetti.
He had attended public school in Boyers and retired from U.S. Steel, where he worked out of Boyers. He later worked for Witherup Fabrication and Erection in Kennerdell and also had worked at National Underground Storage in Boyers.
Mr. Bonetti was affiliated with the Grace United Methodist Church in Clintonville and was a member of the American Legion Post 0852 and the VFW Post, both of Harrisville, and the Boyers Sportsmen’s Association.
From 1943 to 1945, he served with the Army in China, Burma and India. He enjoyed gardening, especially working in his yard, and hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, June Witherup Bonetti, whom he married Sept. 24, 1952; three daughters, Kathy Cochran of Franklin, Beverly Hovis of Butler and Karen Ashbaugh of Warren, Pa.; and eight grandchildren. Two sisters, Virginia Hockenberry of Harrisville and Carmella Critchlow of Butler; five brothers, Joseph and James Bonetti, both of Boyers, Eugene Bonetti of Butler and Furrie and Albert Bonetti, both of Slippery Rock; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
BONETTI - Friends of Guy Bonetti, who died Monday, July 28, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at LARRY E. McKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Thompson, pastor of Clintonville Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Clintonville Methodist Cemetery .

John E. ‘Jack’ Young
John E. “Jack” Young, 75, of Butler died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
Born May 1, 1928, in Fairview Township, he was the son of John Joseph and Emma Dorothy Kiser Young.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America and was involved in missionary work for years.
Mr. Young was a graduate of Karns City High School and served with the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 7876 and the American Legion Post 642 in Chicora.
He retired from the maintenance department at Armco-Butler works after 43 years. He was one of the organizers of Little League in Chicora and also helped with Pony League and American Legion Baseball for years.
Surviving are his wife, Dorine Marie Andre Young, whom he married June 15, 1950; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis L. (Cindy) Craig of Chicora; and four grandchildren, Corey L. Craig of Butler, Alissa M. Craig of Lansdale, and Eric and Tiffany Aites, both of Warsaw, Ind. A sister, Dorothy Grace Ryan of Chicora; a brother, Walter A. Young of Texas; two stepsisters; a stepbrother; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Serafine.

Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Harvey, his church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
The Chicora VFW and American Legion posts will conduct services at 6:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Gerard C. Stein
The Rev. Gerard C. Stein, 84, of 106 Arlington Ave. in the Highfield area of Butler died today at the Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 17, 1918, in Butler, he was a son of John and Mary McGuire Stein.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant on May 31, 1961, having served more than 20 years. He was a World War II veteran and was a life member of the VFW Post 249 in Butler.
Following his military service, he was an elementary school English and science teacher in the Butler School District for 18 years.
The Rev. Stein was ordained deacon for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh on June 8, 1974, with assignment at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He is survived by two sons, Gerald Stein of Butler and Thomas Stein of Michigan; a daughter, Catherine McDonnell of Butler; three brothers, Gerard and Francis Stein, both of Butler, and Charles Stein of McKeesport; a sister, Mary Loutzenhiser of Butler; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
STEIN - Friends of the Rev. Gerald Stein, who died Thursday, July 31, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery .
St. Paul’s Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at the church to recite the Rosary.
Audrey Joan Roxbury
Audrey Joan Roxbury, 70, of Prospect died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born in Slippery Rock, June 12, 1933, she was the daughter of Harry and Mildred Redmond Snyder.
She was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Roxbury worked at the former Critchlow Store and then worked at the Prospect Corner Store for 24 years.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Daniel and Karen Roxbury of South Euclid, Ohio; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jackie and Herb Nicklas, Pamela Roxbury, Karen and Marty Hoover and Connie and Bud Sarver Jr., all of Prospect; six grandchildren, Brian Nicklas of Butler, Jarrett Hoover of Butler, Gena Hoover and Zachary and Travis Sarver, all of Prospect and Grace Roxbury of South Euclid; and three great-grandchildren, Destan Hoover and Ashton and Cameron Schmidt, all of Butler. Two brothers, Paul Snyder of Sunnyview Nursing Home and Tedora Snyder of Butler, also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Roxbury, who died Nov. 19, 1984; two brothers; and a sister.

Alice M. Lamb
Alice M. Lamb, gracefully bowed from this earth July 10, 2003, at her home in Rohnert Park, Calif. As was her wish, she was surrounded by the loving arms of her daughters.
Born in New York, N.Y,, Aug. 17, 1922, the younger of two children, she was preceded in death by her brother, the Rev. Robert T. Dunn, who died in 2001.
In 1944, she married Johnny Mannino and was widowed soon thereafter. She then met Kenneth S. Lamb and flew to Cairo, Egypt, where he worked and where they were married March 1, 1947.
Then the true odyssey of her life began. She loved to tell the story of her drying lingerie blowing off of the balcony as camel drivers were bringing fresh water into the city. They then moved to Iran.
Their travels took them back to New York to deliver their first daughter, Carole. They had a total of seven daughters, and Carole died in 1972 at the age of 23. After 24 years in the Mars area, where she thrived, raising their daughters and caring for Carole’s one-year-old daughter, Heather Hoehle Marburger, they moved to Placentia, Calif.
Tragedy struck again when Ken died in 1979 on American Airlines Flight 191 crash in Chicago. Her incredible strength took her forward once again. She reestablished a new life with her family in Rohnert Park. She became a Eucharistic minister at St. Elizabeth Seton Church and worked relentlessly to ensure a well-stocked food pantry at St. Vincent de Paul.
Alice was an extraordinary mother and then became a true friend to her surviving daughters, Laurel Colonello of Mars and Susan Lamb Carr, Janet Anne Hodge, Barbara Lamb, Allison Lamb Regan and Tricia Lamb, all of California. They all traveled, laughed and cried together and the family grew to include a wonderful circle of friends. The loss of Mom to her children, sons-in-law, 13 grandchildren and a great-grandson is immeasurable. Her magnanimity and lust for life was an exceptional gift. We will hold her in our hearts if not in our arms. Please remember her in your prayers.
A private funeral Mass was held at her home on July 10.
Lon Leslie Kemege
Lon Leslie Kemege, 47, of Houston, Texas, died Monday at his home of natural causes. He had been a diabetic since he was 8 years old.
Born in Butler, Oct. 13, 1955, he was the son of Patty V. Hopper Kemege and the late John H. “Jack” Kemege.
He was a Protestant.
A 1973 graduate of Karns City High School, he was a lathe programmer in Houston. He also was a self-taught lens grinder and enjoyed grinding lens for his telescopes.
He is survived by his mother of the Bruin area; two brothers, J. Keven Kemege of Wichita, Kan., and Vance E. Kemege of Seattle, Wash.; three nephews; and a niece.
A brother preceded him in death.

Michael J. Zolocsik
Michael J. Zolocsik, 62, of West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, died Thursday at his home.
Born Oct. 28, 1940, in NuMine, Armstrong County, he was the son of the late John and Victoria Rusnica Zolocsik.
He retired from Specialty Tires in Indiana, Pa., and was an Army veteran.
Mr. Zolocsik was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Waratuke, whom he married July 6, 1962; a son, Michael Zolocsik of Worthington; four daughters, Vicky Keys of Adrian, Karen McLafferty of Butler, Elizabeth Waratuke of Gainesville, Fla., and Susan Kenny of Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren. A brother, John Zolocsik of Dayton, Armstrong County; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A sister preceded him in death.
