Richard H. Stedman, age 83 of 437 Cherokee Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, January 14, 2005 at Butler Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born December 27, 1921 in Kane, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Richard H. Stedman, Sr. and the late Myrtle Wilson Stedman.
Mr. Stedman was employed in the milk-marketing department for Dairy Lea in Butler, Pennsylvania and for the Carnation Company in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. He was a 1939 graduate of Kane High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force and served during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Stedman is survived by his wife, Mary Maloney Stedman of Butler, Pennsylvania who he marriage on October 17, 1942; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Bonnie) Zemcik of Missouri and Mrs. Gail Moore of Greenville, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday January 16, 2005 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. Monday January 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Michael L. Harvey of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Kane, Pennsylvania.
Mary E. White
October 21, 1914 - January 13, 2005
Mary E. White, age 90 of St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars, Pennsylvania, where she had been a resident for seven years, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 7:20 a.m. in St. John's Specialty Care Center.
Born October 21, 1914 in Clarksburg, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late A.N. Casto and the late Elizabeth Casto.
Mrs. White was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. She had been a licensed practical nurse and she had done private duty nursing for many years.
Mrs. White is survived by a daughter Mrs. Howard (Pearl) Been of Butler, Pennsylvania and a son Clarence A. White of Mission, Texas. In West Virginia she also has a daughter Voie Perine, a son Charles White and a sister Madeline Gregg. Grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive her.
Friends and family of Mary E. White will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday January 15, 2005 from 1-3 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Sunday January 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Hoogerbrugge, chaplain of St. John's Speciality Care Center, officiating.
Graveside committal services will be held on Monday January 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Copelin Cemetery in Jarrisville, West Virginia with the Rev. Dan Cope of Wolf Summit Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating.
Myrtle A. Oesterling
June 26, 1916 - January 11, 2005
Myrtle A. Oesterling, age 88 of Anderson Road, East Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. at her residence.
Born June 26, 1916 in Meridian, Butler County, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John Clyde Barnhart and the late Sadie Schlagel.
Mrs. Oesterling was formerly employed for Woolworth's, A. Penn Oil and American Hardware. She was an alumni of Butler High school, class of 1933. Mrs. Oesterling was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher, and former secretary of the Youth Temperance Council of her church.
Mrs. Oesterling is survived by three sons, Charles L. Oesterling of Lakeland, Florida, Raymond C. Oesterling of Butler, Pennsylvania, Donald R. Oesterling of East Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Jerome (Sue) Weyer of St. Joe, Minnesota, six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two sisters; Mrs. Chester (Janet) Aspelin of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Ethel Turner of Freeport, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Oesterling was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard R. Oesterling who passed away on May 28, 1995, and by three brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, January 13, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. Friday, January 14, 2005 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mary J. Sickles officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Michael Shedio
December 5, 1922 - January 10, 2005
Michael Shedio, age 82 of Kohler Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, January 10, 2005 at 8:10 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 5, 1922 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Michael Shedio and the late Anna Singlair.
Mr. Shedio was a welder for Pullman Standard, retiring in1983 following 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Shedio enjoyed golfing, was in the US Army in the 501st Parachute Infantry. He received a Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal and three Bronze Battle stars. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater.
Mr. Shedio is survived by six sisters, Susan Shedio of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Nicholas (Ann) Vargo of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Michael (Bertha) Stefanko of Cape Coral, Florida, Mr. Andrew (Helen) Varhola of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Irene Shedio of Butler, Pennsylvania, Zella Shedio of Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother, Albert Shedio of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shedio was preceded in death by one brother.
Private visitation and services will be held by the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Albert H. "Pete" McDonald, age 87 of Wiltshire Avenue, formerly of Reo Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, January 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 11, 1917 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Solomon Y. McDonald and the late Bessie Crickenberger.
Mr. McDonald worked at Plant Two in the shipping department at Butler Armco retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. McDonald was a former member of the Butler Elks Lodge #170, a member of the Armco Country Club, and a charter member of the Butler Cubs Club.
Mr. McDonald is survived by a daughter, Linda Sibery of Glendale, AZ; a son, Peter A. McDonald of Butler, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia E. McDonald who passed away on April 22, 1997, and by one daughter, one sister, and seven brothers.

Helen O. Weigle

Helen O. Weigle, age 95 formerly of North Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at 11:52 p.m. in New Haven Court.
Born October 8, 1909 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John Tack and the late Margaret Snyder.
Mrs. Weigle was an Educational Therapist for V.A. Hospital retiring in June 1973. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Grove City College, class of 1931. Mrs. Weigle was a former high school business teacher in Monaca, Pennsylvania and in Hartford, Ohio. Then in 1955 she became a therapist with the V.A. hospital.
Mrs. Weigle is survived by a brother, John C. Tack of Butler, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Weigle was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Weigle who passed away on December 4, 1967, and by a son, Donald Bastress in 1952.
