Hilda C. Morrison, 77, of Butler died Monday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born July 3, 1926, in Butler, she was the daughter of Francis “Pete” and Cecelia C. Geibel Morrison.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and a former member of PARC.
Surviving are a brother, Bernard Morrison of Canfield, Ohio; five sisters, Mary Catherine “Kay” Kienzle, Mrs. Frances O’Neill, Mrs. Harry (Cecelia) Jackson and Mrs. Norberta Mae Duffy, all of Butler, and Mrs. William (Anna) Cranmer of Herman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother.

Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery .
The St Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 12:40 p.m. Thursday at the church.
John W. Miller Jr.
John W. “Jack” Miller Jr., 76, of 104 Fairlane Drive, died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Dec. 24, 1926, he was the son of John W. and Irene F. Freeman Miller Sr.
He had been a life insurance agent for New York Life Insurance Co. for more than 40 years.
Mr. Miller was a founding member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, where he was an elder emeritus for years. He had been a board member and past president of the Seneca Hills Bible Conference for 31 years. He was also a past president of the Life Underwriters Association.
He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Surviving is his wife, Marian Roe Miller. They had been married 51 years.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gerald E. (Karen) Graham of Butler; two sons, Bradley K. Miller of Lynchburg, Va., and Brian D. Miller of Wheeling, W.Va.; a brother, Richard J. Miller of Butler; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
MILLER - There is no visitation for John W. “Jack” Miller Jr., who died Sunday, July 13, 2003. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 420 N. Main St., with the Rev. Warren W. West, pastor emeritus of the church, officiating. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Butler County Memorial Park.

Kenneth W. McConnell
Kenneth W. “Kenny” McConnell, 66, of 211 Blue Grass Drive, died at 8 p.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1936, in Butler Township, he was the son of Harvey M. and Edith Miller McConnell.
He retired as an electrician for IBEW and had also worked for Bronder Technical Service.
An Army veteran, he was a member of St. Andrew’s United Presbyterian Church, the Sons of Italy and a life member of the Butler Elks Lodge 170.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Billman McConnell; two sons, Daniel and Randy McConnell, both of Florida; a daughter, Julie McConnell of Florida; two brothers, Charles McConnell of Florida and James McConnell of Louisiana; two sisters, Mrs. Janet Beier of Florida and Mrs. Donald (Carol) Currie of Fenelton; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A son preceded him in death.
McCONNELL - Friends of Kenneth W. “Kenny” McConnell, who died Sunday, July 13, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. Evelyn Day Ligashewsky
Evelyn Day Ligashewsky, 82, of Butler died at 1 a.m. Tuesday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 24, 1920, in Hilliards, she was a daughter of Albert and Frances Stevens Day.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Crowe of Butler; three grandchildren, John Crowe, Sharon Conti and Angela McCommon; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Dewayne Day of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Ruth Reed of Lyndora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ligashewsky, who died Feb. 7, 2000.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Larry Ligashewsky and a brother, Albert Day Jr.

Audrey Rice Hicks
Audrey G. Heckard Rice Hicks, 88, of Eastvale, died Sunday at Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls.
Born Aug. 21, 1914, in Evans City, she was the daughter of David A. and Laura Alta Rider Heckard.
A member of the College Hill Church of the Nazarene in Beaver Falls, she was involved in a Bible study class at Eastvale Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald L. and Walter L. Rice, both of Evans City, and Robert L. Rice of Port Orange, Fla.; two daughters, Lois A. Barlow of Meadville and Linda S. McGinley of Renfrew; a stepson, Ronald L. Hicks of Rousville; a stepdaughter, Barbara K. Antel of Eastvale; a brother, David A. Heckard of Evans City; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Robert A. Hicks, died Sept. 3, 1987. Two brothers and five sisters also preceded her in death.
HICKS - Friends of Audrey G. Heckard Rice Hicks, who died Sunday, July 13, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at CAMPBELL FUNERAL HOME, 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, Beaver Falls. Opal L. Halin
Opal L. Halin, 82, formerly of Pleasantview Avenue, died Monday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born May 26, 1921, in Butler, she was the daughter of Harry and Mary Scott Manny.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. She also was a member of the French and Belgium Club.
Surviving are three sons, Lucien A. and Daniel D. Halin, both of Butler, and Victor E. Halin of Indiana, Pa.; a brother, Charles Manny of West Sunbury; and three sisters, Mrs. Braden (Gerry) Kaylor and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Reges, both of Butler, and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Vandervort of Dayton, Pa.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the widow of Hubert E. Halin, who died Feb. 7, 1987. She also was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and an infant twin sister.

Alberta C. Sarteschi
Alberta C. Sarteschi, 85, of 416 Preston Drive died Monday evening at St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.
Born in Butler, March 28, 1918, she was the daughter of Albert and Cecelia Steighner Marcellus.
She retired after working as a seamstress at Bobbie Brooks, Spaide Shirt Factory and Jack & Jill Cleaners. She also had worked at Castle Rubber and did reweaving of clothing out of her home.
Surviving are two daughters, Lonna R. Dubyak and Patricia Wogan, both of Butler; two brothers, Thomas Marcellus of Florida and Carl Marcellus of Butler; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Raymond J. Sarteschi, died Nov. 2, 1983. Three brothers also preceded her in death.
SARTESCHI - Friends of Alberta C. Sarteschi, who died Monday, July 14, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen Ogle, pastor of Victory Christian Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery .

Raymond G. Yunk Sr.
Raymond G. Yunk Sr., 72, of Emlenton died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday at his home of natural causes.
Born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 1, 1931, he was the son of Albert Lewis and Minnie Krepley Yunk.
He was a carpenter in the construction industry for years. He later worked as a pipe fitter at H.J. Heinz Co. in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Yunk was the maintenance co-coordinator at the Peaceful Valley Campground near North Washington until his health prevented him from working.
He served in the Marines from 1951 until 1954, when he was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant.
Surviving are his wife, Olive Cook Yunk; two sons, Raymond G. Yunk Jr. and Curt Yunk, both of Pittsburgh; four daughters, Elaine Nichols of North Carolina, and Earlene Faloney, Kimberly Winter and Shelly Taylor, all of Pittsburgh; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters preceded him in death.
YUNK - There will be no public visitation for Raymond G. Yunk Sr., who died Saturday, July 12, 2003. Interment

Gertrude V. "Pete" Younkins
Gertrude V. "Pete" Younkins, 86, of Freeport died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday at the home of her son with whom she lived.
Born Feb. 4, 1917, in South Buffalo Township, she was a daughter of William and Nettie Sutton Lightbody.
She was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Kittanning.
She enjoyed square dancing, traveling and shopping.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Younkins Jr. of South Buffalo Township; James Younkins of Leonardtown, Md.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Younkins Sr., who died in 1975; two sisters; and three brothers.
YOUNKINS - Friends of Gertrude V. "Pete" Younkins, who died Sunday, July 13, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the League of Arts in Kittanning with Lloyd Riggle, lay pastor of the Allegheny Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be private.

Thomas G. West
Thomas G. West, 89, of Route 288, Fombell, Franklin Township, died Thursday at Evergreen Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 21, 1914, in Marion Township, Beaver County, he was the son of Abraham Garrett West Sr. and Clara A. Goettman West.
He was a dairy farmer.
Mr. West graduated from Zelienople High School in 1932.
He was active with the Camp Run Presbyterian Church as an elder, youth leader, longtime choir member, Sunday school teacher and treasurer, and a member of the Presbyterian Men.
He was also a member of the Portersville Keen Agers and the Lillyville Over 55 group, and was on the board of directors of the Hookstown Mutual Farmer Insurance.
Mr. West is survived by his wife, Eileen McClain West, whom he married May 20, 1949. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services were today at Camp Run Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Andrew Shaffer officiated. Interment
was at Camp Run Cemetery .
