Zelda E. Sarver, 98, of Zelienople died Tuesday at Passavant Retirement & Health Center, Zelienople.
Born June 6, 1905, in Cranberry Township, she was the daughter of Cyrus and Margaret Blanche Hillman Mohr.
Mrs. Sarver graduated from Evans City High School in 1924. She received her state standard teaching certificate from Slippery Rock State Teachers’ College and her degree from Geneva College.
In 1935, she began teaching in Franklin Township and then at the Economy Township School. She went on to teach in Ambridge at the Anthony Wayne Building from 1955 to her retirement in 1970.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople and was a life member of the National Education Association and the PSERS, a state retired teachers’ group.
Surviving are a nephew, Glen Ford of Franklin Park; and many grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loverne W. Sarver, who died Nov. 29, 1984, and two sisters.
SARVER - Friends of Zelda E. Sarver, who died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS SERVICES, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Link, interim pastor at St. Peter’s Reformed Church, officiating. Entombment will be at Zelienople Community Mausoleum.

Edna M. Hendricks
Edna M. Neil Gates Hendricks, 88, of Brooksville, Fla., died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her home in Brooksville.
She was born in Butler and moved from Evans City to Florida in 1999. While living in Evans City, she had been a waitress.
Surviving are three sons, George N. Gates of Erie, Harry Gates of Evans City and William Gates of Pittsburgh; and two daughters, Geraldine D. Wargo and Betty Lambert, both of Brooksville. Eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Arrangements were handled by the NATIONAL CREMATION SOCIETY, Brooksville.
Helen M. Brown
Helen M. Brown, 81, of Ellwood City, formerly of Worth Township, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Nov. 27, 1921, in Worth Township, she was the daughter of Frank P. and Mabel Double Connell.
A 1941 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, she had been a clerk at the A&P markets in Slippery Rock and Grove City from 1941 to 1945. She then had been a teller at Grove City National Bank until 1955.
She attended Camp Run Community Church, Ellwood City.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth W. Brown, with whom she made her home; a brother, Howard Connell of Slippery Rock R.D. 2; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her husband, Delvy L. Brown, whom she married July 15, 1955, died July 10, 2000. A brother and a sister also preceded her in death.

Orline A. Wolfe
Orline A. Wolfe, 92, formerly of 904 Center Ave. died at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born in Saxonburg, May 16, 1911, she was the daughter of Edward M. and Amelia M. Reamer Reinhold.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Christ’s Outreach Church.
Surviving are three sons, Robert C. and Lavern E. Wolfe, both of Butler, and Gary A. Wolfe of Herndon, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Carol) Blaine of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Clarence K. Wolfe, died Feb. 1, 1993. A son, a sister and two brothers also preceded her in death.
WOLFE - Friends of Orline A. Wolfe, who died Tuesday, July 2, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. A private funeral service will be held at the funeral home at the convenience of the family with her church pastor, the Rev. Dr. David West, officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.

Leo S. ‘Gig’ Sliviak
Leo S. “Gig” Sliviak, 48, of Freeport died at 2:56 a.m. Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Born in Natrona Heights, April 16, 1955, he was the son of Magdalena Stahl Sliviak and the late Herbert Sliviak.
He had been a project estimator at Russell Standard Corp. in Mars for 24 years.
Mr. Sliviak was a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church, Freeport Sportsman’s Club and a social member of the Freeport Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Donna L. Mohney Sliviak; a son, Eric J. Sliviak at home; his mother of Newville, Cumberland County; and two sisters, Kathy Enos of Newville and Linda Stewart of Duncannon, Perry County.
SLIVIAK - Friends of Leo S. “Gig” Sliviak, who died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. Peter H. Cirillo
Peter H. Cirillo, 81, of Grove City died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday at his home.
Born in Nicola, Fayette County, on Sept. 18, 1921, he was the son of Dominick and Caroline DeNoble Cirillo.
He had worked as a mechanic for Cooper Energy Services. He had also worked for Eastern Airlines and the R.M. John Pontiac dealership in Grove City.
He served with the 41st fighter squad of the Army Air Corps during World War II in New Guinea. He received the Asiatic Service Medal with four bronze stars.
Mr. Cirillo was a member of the Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City, life member of the VFW Post 519 in Grove City, the AARP and Knights of Columbus Council 3658 of Grove City.
He enjoyed woodworking and working on and restoring automobiles.
Surviving are three sisters, Jean Koncar of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Loretta Stevenson of Grove City and Doris Hunt of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
He married Florence Foley on July 7, 1952. She died Sept. 18, 1993.
A sister also preceded him in death.

Carleen M. Berresford
Carleen M. Berresford, 72, of Butler died Monday, June 30, 2003, at her home.
Born Nov. 12, 1930, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Albert and Edythe Phillips
She retired from the Fashion Bug in 1991. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are two sons, Steven Berresford of Renfrew and Brian Berresford of Pittsburgh; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Berresford, who died in 1973.
There will be no visitation. Private services and burial will be held by the family.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Vernard G. Reedy
Vernard G. “Jake” Reedy, 80, of Frostproof, Fla., formerly of Freedom, died Wednesday at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Fla.
Born Feb. 15, 1923, in Wayne Township, he was the son of Herman and Alma Galbraith Reedy.
He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Reedy was a member of Seneca Lodge 805 F&AM, Consistory Legion of Honor and the Valley of New Castle, and the Sun Ray First United Methodist Church of Frostproof, Fla.
He had worked as an iron worker for Local 3.
Mr. Reedy enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are two sons, Herman E. Reedy of Mars and Doyle G. Reedy of Clermont, Fla.; a sister, Stella Fritz of Huntsburg, Ohio; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
His wife, Katherine Reedy, died March 1, 1994.
Two sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.

Sheila M. Price
Sheila M. Price, 40, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, in Fort Wayne.
Born in Butler, she was a homemaker and attended the Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.
Survivors include her husband, Christopher Price; her mother, Barbara Walters of Butler; two brothers, David N. Walters of Butler and Scott Walters of Los Angeles; and a sister, Christine E. Studeny of Butler.
Her father, William R. Walters, preceded her in death.
Services were Saturday in Fort Wayne. Burial was at Catholic Cemetery , Fort Wayne.

Joseph P. O’Donnell
Joseph P. O’Donnell, 64, of Kittanning died at 3:30 a.m. Friday at Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington after an illness.
Born in Chicora on Oct. 2, 1938, he was the son of Daniel J. and Mary E. McGee O’Donnell.
He graduated from Karns City High School in 1956 and earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Penn State University in January 1961.
Mr. O’Donnell worked for R.B. Shannon Surveying Co. Inc. in Kittanning for 41 years until he became ill.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Brady’s Bend, the Altar-Rosary Society of the church, the Professional Engineering Association and the American Society of Highway Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Crawford O’Donnell, whom he married Oct. 2, 1965; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Anna) Hopper of Kittanning; and two sons, Stephen O’Donnell of Cowansville and Gregory O’Donnell of Kittanning.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Otto (Mary Anne) Schaffler of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Harry (Gertrude) Blair of Butler, Jeanne Shawhan of Ellicott City, Md., and Mrs. Gregory (Rita) Mills of Poolesville, Md.; three brothers, Edward O’Donnell of Ojai, Calif., Kenneth O’Donnell of Frederick, Md., and Robert O’Donnell of Montrose, Colo.; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
