Nancy L. Delaney, 67, of Fredericksburg, R.D. Petrolia, died at 5:40 p.m. Friday at her home after a lingering illness.
Born Nov. 25, 1935, in Butler, she was the daughter of Clarence E. and Edna Watterson Schreffler.
She was a 1953 graduate of Butler High School and had worked for several stores in downtown Butler. She had worked for her brother’s store, Cal’s General Store, in Portersville for 13 years.
Mrs. Delaney was a member of the Queenstown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, James Delaney, whom she married Nov. 12, 1982; a son, Ronald E. Hinton of Butler; two brothers, Keith and Jack Schreffler, both of Butler; an aunt, Jennie Gallagher of Butler; a grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her first husband, Lorraine T. Hinton, a daughter, a son, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
DELANEY - Friends of Nancy L. Delaney, who died Friday, July 4, 2003, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kate Reitz, pastor of Queenstown United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery , R.D. 1, Chicora.

Carol R. Baker
Carol R. Baker, 81, of Mars, formerly of Linwood, N.J., died Wednesday evening at her home after an illness.
Born Sept. 29, 1921, in Honesdale, she was the daughter of Raymond and Margretta Watts Wright.
She was retired as a licensed practical nurse for the Linwood Convalescent Center in Linwood, N.J., and was a member of the Seaview Baptist Church in Linwood, where she had been a trustee and youth leader.
Surviving are a son, Edwin L. Baker Jr. of Pasadena, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Lavonne “Vonny”) Popadich of Mars, with whom she lived, and Mrs. Thomas (Carole) Sandor of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Edwin Baker, whom she married in July 1940, died April 17, 1975. A sister also preceded her in death.
BAKER - There will be no visitation for Carol R. Baker, who died Wednesday, July 2, 2003. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crow Ave., Mars, with her grandson, Christopher Popadich, officiating.

Collin A. Weston
Collin A. Weston, 19, of Crested Butte, Colo., formerly of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday from injuries in a tragic automobile accident in Hanksville, Utah, while he and his friend, Cass Gelroth, were returning from a vacation in Lake Powell.
Born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 3, 1983, he was the son of Tex and Elaine Rauck Weston.
He attended North Allegheny High School before moving to Crested Butte. Collin was as star soccer player, an avid skier, an emerging poet, and a budding chef, but most importantly, he was a leader amongst his peers.
Whether directing community meetings in his school or assisting in the aid of a Mexican orphanage, Collin was at home providing leadership to those in need. His love of life, his jovial ways, his beautiful smile, and his caring heart will never be forgotten by those who knew him well and loved him most.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, Tex and Phyllis Jurecko Weston of Ingomar; his mother, Elaine Rauck Weston of Crested Butte; a brother, Cody Weston of Ingomar; a stepbrother, Toby Jurecko, Jr. of Pittsburgh; three stepsisters, Holly Rubinoff of Crested Butte, Meghan Maxwell and Alexis Jurecko, both of Pawleys Island, S.C.; paternal grandparents Buck and Gayle Weston of Pittsburgh, and his maternal grandparents, Gordon and Ruth Rauck of California.
WESTON - There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to a memorial service at the Ingomar United Methodist Church, Ingomar Road, Pittsburgh at 11 a.m. on Thursday. A reception will follow at Wildwood Country Club.

Wayne R. Werner
Wayne R. Werner, 49, of Butler died at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Werner was born April 11, 1954, in West Elizabeth to the late Harold C. Sr. and Anna Marie Wray Werner.
He was a maintenance supervisor for Surry Hill Apartments.
Surviving are his wife, Carole (Melville) Werner; two sons, Harley D. Werner of Grove City and Wayne Sabolesky of Indiana; two daughters, Heidi R. Werner at home and April M. Duff of Indiana; three sisters, Betty McKown of Buena Vista, Mary Black of Elizabeth and Deborah Campbell of Floreffe; two brothers, Harold Werner Jr. of Grindstone and Robert Werner of Elizabeth; one grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James J. Nemceff Sr.
James Jacob Nemceff Sr., 82, of Morrisville, died Thursday at his home.
Born in Butler, Mr. Nemceff had lived in Morrisville for the past 37 years. He was a foreman at U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills for years before retiring in 1982.
Mr. Nemceff was a Navy veteran, having served in World War II on the USS Beebas in the Pacific Theater.
He was a Mason, a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Billington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 06495, and a life member of American Legion Post 0778 in Lyndora.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Hawryliak Nemceff; his children, James J. Nemceff of Richmond, Va., William P. Nemceff of Yardley, Pa., Theodore P. Nemceff of Phoenixville, Pa., and Connie Gleason of Doylestown, Pa.; his brother, Paul Nemceff of Austria; and 10 grandchildren.
NEMCEFF - Funeral services for James Jacob Nemceff, Sr., who died Thursday, July 3, 2003, will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the SAUL MEMORIAL HOME, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Trenton, N.J. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 824 Adeline St., Trenton.
Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery .

Dale Wesley Myers
Dale Wesley Myers, 83, of 108 Williams Road, Butler, formerly of Sligo, died Saturday at his residence following a long illness.
Born in Sligo on June 1, 1920, to Lee M. Myers and LuLu M. McHenry.
Mr. Myers was a former assistant superintendent of AirCo.
He was a member of the Community Alliance Church, where he served as a trustee and was a member of the Young at Heart. For years he served on the church’s venison dinner committee.
He was an Army veteran in World War Two, serving with the Army Corp. of Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, Faye L. (Seybert) Myers, two daughters, Mrs. Sheila E. Dudney of Costa Rica and Mrs. Ruth Ann Pagano of Butler; a son, Keith W. Myers of Butler; a brother, Hillis Myers of Chicago; four grandsons; and a number of nieces and nephews.
MYERS - Friends of Dale Wesley Myers, who died July 6, 2003, at his home, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. Betty Jean Milliren
Betty Jean Milford Milliren, 79, of LaBelle, Fla., formerly of Emlenton, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, after an illness.
Born Oct. 29, 1923, in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, she was the daughter of Arthur and Anna Haggerty Milford.
She was a member of the Carlson United Methodist Church in LaBelle and was well known for her quilting expertise.
Her husband, Robert Milliren, died in 1995.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Craig (Sue) Schruers of Nickleville, Mrs. Charles (Kathy) McDuffie of Lorida, Fla., and Mrs. Greg (Roberta) Williamson-Dionne of Cape Coral, Fla.; a son, Thomas Milliren of Naples, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Sara) McNany and Georgianna Thompson, both of Emlenton, and Margaret McGinnis of Parker; and two brothers, Arthur Kenneth Milford of Emlenton and David William Milford of Knox. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
MILLIREN - Friends of Betty Jean Milford Milliren, who died Friday, July 4, 2003, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Eau Claire. Bruce Merritt
Bruce Merritt, 56, of 49 Sunbury Estates in Center Township, formerly of Natrona Heights and Tarentum, died at 3 a.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a six-month illness.
Born Jan. 25, 1947, in Cascade County, Mont., he was the son of Ruth M. Oswald Merritt and the late George R. Merritt.
A 1965 graduate of Har-Brack High School, he served his apprenticeship at Oberg Manufacturing in Buffalo Township, where he was a tool and die maker for 30 years before he retired on disability. He formerly worked at Liberty Mirror in Brackenridge.
He lived in Butler for the past 10 years, was a Protestant and belonged to the AA of Butler, also known as the Chicken Coop of Sunday Night Group. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and computers.
Surviving are a son, Brian A. Merritt of Cheswick; a daughter, Dalena Merritt of Pittsburgh; his mother of Butler; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
MERRITT - Friends of Bruce Merritt, who died Friday, July 4, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, 247 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum. Kenneth O. Beattie
Kenneth O. Beattie, 94, of Butler died Friday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born Aug. 20, 1908, in Spenceport, N.Y., he was the son of Andrew and Sarah Genrich Beattie.
He served with the Army during World War II.
Mr. Beattie had worked as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in San Francisco, retiring in 1991 after 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy E. Beattie, whom he married Jan. 27, 1984; two stepsons, Clifford George of Niles, Ohio, and Joseph Snyder of Fairfield, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Fortis Gus (Blanche) Ford of Las Vegas, Mrs. Keith (Pauline Gigi) Cameron of New Hampshire and Nancy L. Snyder of Butler; 25 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Mildred Woodgor Beattie, died in 1978.
Two brothers also preceded him in death.
BEATTIE - There will be no visitation for Kenneth O. Beattie, who died Friday, May 30, 2003. Interment
will be in St. John Cemetery in Coylesville. Arrangements were by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Mr. Beattie’s home, 127 Third Ave.
Ruth B. Stang
Ruth B. Stang, 74, of Middlesex Township died Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Butler, July 20, 1928, she was the daughter of Charlotte and Samuel Shira Kind.
A 1946 graduate of Mars High School, she received a bachelor’s degree from Geneva College and a master’s degree from Slippery Rock State College, and she began her teaching career at Mars High School in 1949. After her children started school, she returned to teaching at Penn Elementary School in Penn Township, where she taught fifth and sixth grade from 1965 until her retirement in 1993.
Mrs. Stang was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church, where she served on the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and was a trustee. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women, Glade Run Small Prayer Group, Bakerstown Missionary Circle, Pennsylvania School Education Association Retirees and Valencia Historical Society.
She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling, reading and above all, spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Harold G. Stang, whom she married June 27, 1950; two daughters, Mrs. David (Cindy) Knauff of Valencia and Mrs. John (Linda) Moore of Midland, Mich.; a son, Roy Stang and his wife, Teresa, of Greensburg; eight grandchildren, Chris, Ben, and Andy Knauff, all of Valencia, Stephanie Moore of Durham, N.C., Eric Moore of Cleveland, Ohio, Jeff Moore of Midland and Lauren and Tom Stang of Greensburg.
A sister, Vivien Zema of Lafayette, Ind., also survives.
