Paul R. Hutzley

November 4, 1914 - January 6, 2005

Paul R. Hutzley, age 90 formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 4:55 p.m. at Chicora Medical Center.

Born November 4, 1914 in Penn Township, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Carl Robert Hutzley and the late Anna May White.

Mr. Hutzley retired in 1977 after 37 years of service from the hot and cold maintenance department at Armco. He was a member of North Street Christian Church and a member of the Tanglewood Senior Center.

Mr. Hutzley is survived by two sons, Thomas R. Hutzley of Butler, Pennsylvania, Brian K. Hutzley of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. David (Darlene) McDonald of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandsons, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hutzley was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Jean Gaiser Hutzley who passed away on February 14, 1981 and by six sisters, five brothers and one son.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, January 8, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Robert Huber & Reverend Jeff Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Contributions may be made to North Street Christian Church, 226 West North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Mildred H. Sherman

April 4, 1914 - January 6, 2005

Mildred H. Sherman, age 90 formerly of White Oak Drive, Butler, died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 3:00 a.m. in Chicora Medical Center.

Born April 4, 1914 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Alfred L. Turner and the late Maude D. McCord.

Mrs. Sherman retired from the Assessment Office at the Butler County Court House. She was a member of North Street Christian Church.

Mrs. Sherman is survived by a son, David A. Sherman of Butler, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sherman was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Sherman who passed away on October 15, 1988 and by a son and four brothers.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, January 7, 2005 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert C. Huber officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of All Faiths Mausoleum in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.

Edgar C. (Bud) Huselton, Jr.

June 12, 1916 - January 4, 2005

Edgar C. (Bud) Huselton, Jr, age 88, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 11:30 p.m. at home, following a long illness. Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on June 12, 1916, he was the son of Edgar C. Huselton and Lyde Burtner Huselton.

He was a graduate of Butler High School and received his B.S. in business from Penn State in 1941. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the European Theater until his discharge in 1945. Mr. Huselton had started to work for Armco's Butler plant in various capacities in 1935, and returned to the company following his army service. In 1953, he was transferred to Armco's general offices in Middletown, Ohio, and was named manager of personnel placement in 1961. Mr. Huselton returned to Butler in 1963 as assistant to the works manager, a post he held until his retirement in 1973. Following his retirement he took over the management of Community Finance, a company founded by his father-in-law, Carl Cheeseman. He served as president until the company was sold.

Prior to moving to Middletown, Mr. Huselton had been active in the community, serving on the Butler City School Board and the Butler City Recreation Board. In Middletown he was director and secretary/treasurer of the Armco Employee Credit Union, was a member of the YMCA board, and a deacon and elder of the First United Presbyterian Church. Returning to Butler in 1963, he resumed his community involvement, serving on the board of the YMCA, the board of the Mental Health Guidance Clinic, and as president of the Butler Area Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the board of the Butler Country Club. Mr. Huselton was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church, where he had served as elder, as well as on various committees.

His wife, the former Margaret Cheeseman, died in 1984. He was also preceded in death by a brother, B. Chandler Huselton, and three sisters: Mrs. Helen Green and Miss Sue Huselton of Bradenton, Florida; and Mrs. Jane Staples of Birmingham, Michigan.

Mr. Huselton is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a great-great-niece.

Visiting hours are from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday January 7, 2005 at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

The service will be Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the North Side Cemetery, Butler, Pennsylvania.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, contributions to the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler Pennsylvania 16001.

George O. Seth

March 21, 1933 - January 3, 2005

George O. Seth, age 71 of Masonic Village, Sewickley, Pennsylvania, formerly of Lumar Village, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, January 3, 2005 at 12:30 a.m. in Valley Nursing Home at the Masonic Village at Sewickley, Pennsylvania.

Born March 21, 1933 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Harry C. Seth, Sr. and the late Mary E. Miller.

Mr. Seth retired in May of 1995 from the maintenance department for Butler Area Schools after 17 years of service. Previously he had worked in retail management in Butler and Pittsburgh area for 22 years. He was a member of West Hills Christian Church, Moon Township, an alumni of Butler High school class of 1953. He was a member of Victory Lodge #694 F & AM and the Lorraine Commandery #87 Knights Templar.

Mr. Seth is survived by his wife Beverly A. Thompson Seth whom he marriage November 17, 1955, by one son, Bradley T. Seth of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; one sister, Mrs. Hardy (Martha) Johnson of Pittsburg, California; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Seth was preceded in death by two brothers.

A memorial services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert Hale of West Hills Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania, 1515 Locust Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219 or to the Masonic Village Day Care Center, 1000 Masonic Drive, Sewickley, Pennsylvania 15143.

Alice C. Sweeney

January 21, 1920 - January 1, 2005

Alice C. Sweeney, age 78 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at 7:25 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born January 21, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Clyde Herlinger and the late Carrie Albitz.

Mrs. Sweeney retired in 1985 from the parts department at the Sears store in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Sweeney was a member of the A. A. R. P., the Century Club and the Bridge Club.

Mrs. Sweeney is survived by her husband Robert A. Sweeney whom she marriage on August 10, 1946, one son, Daniel R. Sweeney and his fiancée, Rusty Roman of Meridian, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Susan Beam and her husband Clayton of Butler, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Mrs. Richard (Lori) Bollas of Chardon, Ohio, Mrs. Donald (Amy) Geiger of Madison, Ohio, Allison Sweeney of Largo, Florida, Ashley Beam of Butler, Pennsylvania, Kyle Beam of Butler, Pennsylvania; one great-grandchild, Amber Collins; one sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Barber of Ohio; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sweeney was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Clark Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Patricia J. Hutchison

December 2, 1934 - February 28, 2005

Patricia J. Hutchison, age 70 of Lakeview Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at 2:55 a.m. at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born December 2, 1934 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Albert McCandless and the late Floy L. McCandless.

Mrs. Hutchison was retired as a legal secretary for Saul Bernstein. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an avid golfer and bowler.

Mrs. Hutchison is survived by her husband Paul E. Hutchison whom she marriage on June 25, 1960, by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Alice Parsons of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Gladys Gooding of Westland, Michigan; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hutchison was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..

Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Thomas Pierotti officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
