Marcus A. Beck, 85, of Butler died Monday at his home.
Born March 4, 1918, in Butler, he was a son of Marcus A. and Isabel Reiley Beck.
He had been a payroll clerk at Armco-Butler Works, retiring after 38 years.
During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps.
Mr. Beck was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. He also belonged to the Armco Veterans’ Club and the South Butler Fireman’s Association. He was a volunteer driver for the Butler Meals on Wheels for years.
Surviving are a son, Steven A. Beck of Ellwood City; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
His wife, Eileen A. Weser Beck, died June 28, 1988. A sister also preceded him in death.
BECK - There will be no visitation for Marcus A. Beck, who died Monday, June 2, 2003. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. The Rev. Jack Nanz will officiate. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery .
The Women’s Council of St. Peter Church will recite the rosary at 10:35 a.m. Thursday at the church.

John M. Harrier
John M. Harrier, 87, of Prospect, formerly of Oakmont, died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 30, 1915, in Curwensville, he was the son of John E. and Estella M. Hoak Harrier.
Mr. Harrier was a World War II Army veteran and retired as a draftsman at Blaw-Knox Co. after 35 years. He enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling.
He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and belonged to Harmony Moose Lodge 957. He also was a member of Oakmont United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jake J. (Elizabeth) Miller of Prospect; a brother, Hank Harrier of Florida; a sister, Phyllis Marley of DuBois; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Harrier, who died Oct. 22, 1996; and a sister.
HARRIER - Friends of John M. Harrier, who died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Indiana Township, Allegheny County.
Dean Albert Fagley
Dean Albert Fagley, 76, of Butler died Wednesday morning at his home after an illness.
Born Aug. 17, 1926, in Tyrone, he was the son of Walter and Anna Ortman Fagley.
He was a member of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Fagley was a sergeant in the Army during World War II and retired as a carpenter from Armco-Butler Works after 33 years.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Bywater Fagley, whom he married Nov. 11, 1995; two sons, Jeffrey Fagley and Paul Fagley and his wife, Kathy, all of Butler; and two grandchildren, Robert Fagley of Pittsburgh and Amanda Fagley of Butler. A number of step-grandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
His first wife, Phyllis Fagley, whom he married Oct. 3, 1949, died Oct. 5, 1994. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
FAGLEY - Friends of Dean Albert Fagley, who died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at JAY BRYAN FUNERAL HOME, 443 Main St., Prospect. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Curtis officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.

Walter J. DeCorte
Walter J. “Wally” DeCorte, 61, of Butler died at 4 a.m. Wednesday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He was born July 28, 1941, in East Brady.
He was a Marine Corps veteran and served in Vietnam.
Mr. DeCorte worked in the housekeeping department at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center and was very active in American Legion Post 117, the Slovak Club and the Moose. He also belonged to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Boswak DeCorte.

The Bantam Marine Detachment of the Butler Marine Corps League will hold a military service at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Eusebius Cemetery , East Brady.
Estelle H. Blanchard
Estelle H. Blanchard, 90, of 296 Dinnerbell Road died at 5 p.m. Sunday at Shelbourne Assisted Living.
Born in Nangatuck, Conn., May 8, 1913, she was the daughter of Joseph and Theodora Gadomski O’Loskey.
She was a 1931 graduate of Crosby High School and had been a self-employed real estate broker.
Mrs. Blanchard was a member of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Waterbury, Conn. She also belonged to the Sweet Adelines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement J. Blanchard, who died Oct. 15, 1978.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Denise Piscatelli of Southbury, Conn., Mrs. Claryce Guarrera of Fort Myers, Fla., and Mrs. Laurye Feller of Butler; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
BLANCHARD - A Mass of Christian burial for Estelle H. Blanchard, who died Sunday, May 25, 2003, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Southbury, Conn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at the New St. Joseph’s Cemetery Waterbury, Conn. CARPINO FUNERAL HOME Southbury, Conn. is handling arrangements. Edward C. Weber
Edward C. Weber, 69, of Harmony died unexpectedly Wednesday at Erie Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1933, in Etna, he was the son of Clark and Sara Weber.
Mr. Weber attended St. John’s Lutheran Stone Church in Lancaster Township.
He had been working part-time at Executive Fleet in Butler.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Musser Weber, whom he married June 20, 1953; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Kathy) Duda of Erie and Mrs. David (Karen) Rybak of Oil City; a son, Frank Weber of Grove City; and three brothers, James and Harry Weber, both of Butler, and Art Weber of Etna. Five grandchildren also survive.
A son and a great-granddaughter preceded him in death.
WEBER - There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Edward C. Weber, who died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Stone Church, with Robert Zimmerman, church pastor, officiating.

Mary A. Waldenmyer
Mary Alice Waldenmyer, 78, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly 145 Greenhill Drive, died Wednesday.
She retired from Armco-Butler Works after 33 years and was a member of Covenant United Presbyterian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Intermediate Women’s Club.
Surviving are two sons, Brad and Rex Waldenmyer; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a her parents, John and Angela Emerick and a brother.
WALDENMYER - A memorial service for Mary Alice Waldenmyer, who died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. The Rev. Monica Hamilton will officiate.
Lucy LoPresti
Lucy LoPresti, 74, of Swissvale died Wednesday.
Her husband, Eugene C. LoPresti Sr., preceded her in death.
Surviving are five children, Eugene C. LoPresti Jr. of Bronx, N.Y., Carol McCully and her husband, William, of Plum, Janet LoPresti of West Mifflin, Michael LoPresti and his wife, Susanne, of Petrolia and Nancy Buccigrossi and her husband, Dominic, of Wilkins Township; and 10 grandchildren, Melissa, Vanessa, Tara, Michael Jr., Nicholas, Caterina, Emily, Bianca, Dominique and Desirae.
LoPRESTI - Friends of Lucy LoPresti, who died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church.
Robert F. Hindman
Robert F. “Bob” Hindman, 68, of Decatur, Miss., died Tuesday at Rush Hospital, Meridian, Miss.
A retired Army bird colonel, he served in the Green Beret Special Forces, served several tours of duty overseas and also worked in the criminal investigation division of the Army.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Decatur American Legion Post. One of his biggest joys was being a grandfather and great-grandfather and serving the Lord.
Mr. Hindman was an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. He received a political science degree from the University of New York.
Surviving are his wife, Lillie Kate Hindman; five sons, Robert Michael Hindman and his wife, Kathi, of Port Gibson, Miss., Wade Walters and his wife, Dolly, of Hattiesburg, Miss., Wayne Walters and his wife, Jennifer, and Daron Walters and his wife, Suzanne, all of Madison, Miss., and Joel Walters of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; and two daughters, Cynthie Leigh Hindman of Kingsland, Ga., and Kristi Michelle Cox and her husband, Ricky, of Forest, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Also surviving are a sister and a nephew, Kathie Migliori and John Linville, both of Ellwood City.
His first wife, Betty Lou “Cindy” Hindman, preceded him in death.
HINDMAN - Friends of Robert F. “Bob” Hindman, who died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at BARHAM FUNERAL HOME, Newton, Miss. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barham Chapel in Newton with Bishop Charles White officiating. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery in Mississippi.
Memorial donations may be made to the Decatur American Legion Post.
Annette Bader
Annette Bader, 86, formerly of Valencia, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, in St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Gibsonia, after an illness.
Born in Millvale, May 5, 1917, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Clara Scheffler Eckert.
She was a member of Valencia United Presbyterian Church and the Mars AARP.
Her husband, William Bader, and a brother preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation. Private entombment will be in the Temple of Memories Mausoleum, Allegheny Cemetery , Pittsburgh.
