John C. ‘Teet’ Williams II

John C. “Teet” Williams II, 54, of East Butler, died at 3:38 a.m. Friday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning.

Born April 3, 1949, in Butler, he was the son of John Calvin Williams and Beverly Louise Stewart Williams.

He worked as a crew chief for 3 Tanden Mill at AK Steel for 35 years.

Mr. Williams was a member of Moose Lodge 64, the East Butler Firearms Club, the National Rifle Association and the East Butler Hunting and Fishing Club.

A NASCAR fan, he and his wife operated East Butler Village Inn.

Surviving are his wife, Penny Williams, whom he married March 2, 1974; two daughters, Melissa Williams of Bruin and Mrs. David (Bridgett) Hinderliter of Petrolia; a son, John C. Williams III of East Butler; three grandchildren, Karinne, Corey and Karlee Hinderliter, all of Petrolia; a sister, Mrs. David (Georjean) Coco of Winchester, Va.; a brother, Gregory Williams of Wilmington, Del.; his parents of Bruin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

WILLIAMS - Friends of John C. “Teet” Williams II, who died Friday, May 30, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Bowman, pastor of Bruin United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in North Cemetery .

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Laube Cancer Center Patient Care Fund, R.D. 8, One Nolte Drive, Kittanning, PA 16201.

Raymond E. Nicklas

Raymond E. Nicklas, 59, of Evans City, died Friday at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Sept. 9, 1943, he was the son of Harold R. and Lucille M. Iman Nicklas.

A Protestant by faith, he worked for Tri-County Recycling in Mars. He had previously worked for Ellwood City Forge.

Mr. Nicklas was a life member of the Evans City Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Ratcliff of Las Vegas and Mrs. Daniel (C. Christine) Eldridge of Evans City; and a number of nieces and nephews.

NICKLAS - There will be no public visitation for Raymond E. Nicklas, who died Friday, May 30, 2003. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. KINSEY-VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, Evans City, handled arrangements.

Edward M. Kilgore

Edward M. Kilgore, 78, of Harmony, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Nov. 30, 1924, in Glasgow, Ky., he was the son of Edward and Anna Kilgore.

He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople and the St. Gregory Conference of the St. Vincent dePaul Society.

He served with the Army during World War II as a cannoneer in the field artillery and with the occupation forces in Japan.

Mr. Kilgore was a commercial artist in Pittsburgh.

Surviving are a sister, Kathryn Finger of Travelers Rest, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

KILGORE - Friends of Edward M. Kilgore, who died Thursday, May 29, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople with the Rev. Charles Bergman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Gregory’s Cemetery , Zelienople.

Bernadine Hespenheide

Bernadine Hespenheide, 84, of Mars died Friday at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars after an illness.

Born in Butler County on April 1, 1919, she was the daughter of John and Mary VanKampen DeWinter.

A lifelong resident of Mars, she grew up at Treesdale Farms and attended a one-room schoolhouse through eighth grade. She graduated from Mars High School in 1937.

She married Kenneth C. Hespenheide in 1940 and the couple operated the family farm until 1960.

Mrs. Hespenheide later worked for Mars School District, Planet Realty, Turnblacer Realty, Merril Lynch Realty and Prudential Preferred Realty, where she was an award-winning sales agent.

She was a Cub Scout den mother, a member of Mars American Field Service and, after her retirement, volunteered for the American Red Cross Central Blood Bank.

She was a longtime member, elder and trustee of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars, where she was a senior high school Sunday school teacher and a member of the women’s quilting group.

Surviving are a son, Fred W. Hespenheide and his wife, Linda, of Mars; a daughter, Linda H. Shoemaker and her husband, Bruce, of New Providence; two sisters, Vinnie Ziegler of Pittsburgh and Marion Green of Venice, Fla.; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Her husband; two brothers, Fred and Theodore DeWinter; and two sisters, Ruth Brunermer and Dee Dunn, preceded her in death.

HESPENHEIDE - Friends of Bernadine Hespenheide, who died Friday, May 30, 2003, are invited to attend a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John Lutheran Church, Beaver Street, Mars, with the Rev. Robert Rigg, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery .

Memorial donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church for the Lutheran World Relief Fund, Beaver St., Mars, PA 16046.

Arrangements were by MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME in Mars.

John F. Dunlap

John F. Dunlap, 83, of Monongahela, formerly of Mars, died Friday morning at Monongahela Valley Hospital after an illness.

Born June 21, 1919, in Warrendale, he was the son of John H. and Janet Ziegler Dunlap.

He served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Dunlap had worked as a mechanic for Greyhound Bus Company and belonged to Mars United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, John Dunlap of Monongahela; and two granddaughters.

A brother preceded him in death.

DUNLAP - Friends of John F. Dunlap, who died Friday, May 30, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery , Adams Township.

Costantina Cammisa

Costantina Cammisa, 93, of 230˝ McClain Ave., died Friday at Sunnyview Nursing Home after an illness.

Born in Troi, Italy, on May 16, 1910, she was the daughter of John and Maria Lucia DiIasio.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are three sons, Romeo, John J. and Michael D. Cammisa, all of Butler; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Michele Cammisa, died April 2, 1983.

Three sons, one grandchild, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

CAMMISA - Friends of Costantina Cammisa, who died Friday, May 30, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Dolan officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery .

Members of the bereavement group of St. Michael Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.

Mary B. Zavacky

Mary B. Zavacky, 88, of Butler died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 15, 1915, in Springdale, she was the daughter of Gabriel “Gabor” and Agnes Fuhasz Beharie.

She had been a buyer and a retail salesclerk for J.C. Penney Co. on Main Street for 23˝ years and retired in 1980.

She was a lifelong member of the former St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son, Raymond Zavacky of Bath, N.Y.; a daughter, Mrs. George (Cynthia A.) McClelland of Bluffton, S.C.; three grandchildren, Mrs. Joseph A. (Lori Ann) Wiest of Butler with whom she made her home, Mrs. Doug (Diane) Ritchie of Sadieville, Ky., and Matthew Fritz Zavacky of Pittstown; and six great-grandchildren, Olivia and Sophia Wiest, Logan and Zachary Schmoll and Courtney and Madison Ritchie. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Zavacky, Sr., who died July 24, 1987; and a son, William Zavacky Jr. As the last surviving member of her family, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

ZAVACKY - There will be no visitation for Mary B. Zavacky, who died, Monday, May 26, 2003. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. The Rev. Ralph Link will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery .

Memorial donations may be made to Butler Catholic School, 515 E. Locust St., Butler PA 16001; or to the Butler Montessori School, 515 E. Locust Street, Butler PA 16001.

Stephen E. Trybus

Stephen E. Trybus, 59, of Fombell died Tuesday at St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.

Born June 22, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph and Laura Gestine Trybus.

Mr. Trybus was a member of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, Zelienople.

He was a 1965 graduate of Duquesne University and was a self-employed financial planner.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly Trybus, whom he married July 3, 1965; two daughters, Valerie Guth of Ellwood City and Becky Sceranka, of Kirkland, Ohio; a son, Stephen Trybus of Beaver Falls; and four grandchildren.

TRYBUS - Friends of Stephen E. Trybus, who died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, Zelienople, with the Rev. Charles Bergman officiating. Burial will be at the church Cemetery .

Memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople PA 16063.

Joan Elsa Seline

Joan Elsa Seline, 53, of Blue Grass, Iowa, died Monday at her home of ovarian cancer.

Born May 18, 1950, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Jeanne E. Large Rapp and the late James S. Rapp.

She received her master’s degree in education and home-schooled her children.

Mrs. Seline was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church, Davenport, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and sewing.

Surviving are her husband, Donald M. Seline, whom she married March 27, 1982, in Butler; two daughters, Kristi and Stephanie Seline, both of Blue Grass; her mother of Butler; and two brothers, Jeffrey Rapp of Butler and James Rapp of Portersville.

SELINE - Friends of Joan Elsa Seline, who died Monday, May 26, 2003, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at WEERTS FUNERAL HOME, Davenport, Iowa. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Free Church, Davenport. A private family burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an education fund for her daughters, c/o Weerts Funeral Home, 3625 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, IA 52807.

Ida E. Schnitzki

Ida E. Schnitzki, 93, of Webster, N.Y., formerly of 130 Linhurst Ave. in Butler, died Saturday, May 24, 2003. She had been a resident of Wesley Garden Nursing Home in Rochester, N.Y.

Born Nov. 15, 1909, in Hungary, she was the daughter of Emory and Ida Kish Nemeth.

Mrs. Schnitzki retired in 1975 after 23 years as a cafeteria worker in the Butler School District. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking and was an avid gardener.

Surviving are two daughters, Virginia A. Jones of Webster, N.Y., and Renie Stewart of Callensburg; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Paul Schnitzki, whom she married in Butler Oct. 26, 1935, died March 6, 1969. Four brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.

There will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery , Butler.

Memorial donations may be made to Friends of Wesley, c/o Wesley Community, 630 East Ave., Rochester NY 14607.
