Delbert J. Anthony, 78, of East Franklin Township, Armstrong County, died Thursday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning.
Born Dec. 28, 1924, in East Franklin Township, he was the son of Roy H. and Gladys E. Toy Anthony.
A lifelong resident of the East Franklin Township area, he had retired from Schenley Distilleries. He was Baptist and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Anthony was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and belonged to VFW Post 863 of Kittanning. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel M. Bowser Anthony; two sons, Theodore E. Anthony of Butler and Daniel J. Anthony of Havelock, N.C.; two brothers, Clair and Homer Anthony, both of Cochranton; and a grandson.
A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
ANTHONY - Friends of Delbert J. Anthony, who died Thursday, May 22, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Hughes, interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Kittanning, officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington.
Virginia J. Kuminkoski
Virginia J. Kuminkoski, 86, formerly of Butler and The Arbors, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday at Chicora Medical Center after a long illness.
Born Sept. 3, 1916, in Butler, she was the daughter of Seward Joseph and Genevieve Mary Houston Trimbur.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Kuminkoski had worked at various jobs including the Spade Shirt Factory, Logan’s Candy, a cook at Natili’s Restaurant & Lounge at Main and Wayne streets and at the Country Kitchen. She also had worked at the Butler Eagle.
She loved bingo and crafts.
Surviving are her husband, Edward B. Kuminkoski of Butler, whom she married Feb. 8, 1949; a daughter Arlene K. Kuminkoski of Prescott, Ariz.; a son, James G. Adams of Butler; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, James N. Adams, who died Feb. 14, 1978.
KUMINKOSKI - A Mass of Christian burial for Virginia J. Kuminkoski, who died Saturday, May 17, 2003, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler, is handling arrangements.
Edmund S. Kuminkoski
Edmund S. Kuminkoski, 82, of Butler died Sunday at his home.
Born Feb. 26, 1921, in Lyndora, he was a son of Ben and Valerie Ryba Kuminkoski.
He had been a quality control inspector at Pullman Standard until 1980. He also was a self-employed radio and television repairman for 25 years, and was a volunteer at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center for 15 years.
During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a member of VFW Post 249 in Butler. Mr. Kuminkoski also was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles.
Surviving are his wife, Nora J. Halcon Kuminkoski, whom he married Aug. 17, 1947; a son, Edmund Kuminkoski, and his wife, Ruth, of Verona; a daughter, Mrs. John (Lorna) Whittington of Butler; two brothers, Edward and Ben Kuminkoski, both of Butler; and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Sophie) Weber of Lyndora. He also is survived by four grandchildren, Doug and Michael Dittmer and Allan and Andre Kuminkoski; and four great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Steven, Makayla and Hope Dittmer
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Ted, Bernie and Herman Kuminkoski.
KUMINKOSKI - Friends of Edmund S. Kuminkoski, who died, Sunday, May 18, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz, will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Everett Maurice Kelley
Everett Maurice Kelley, 88, of Sarver died Sunday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
A native of Sarver, he was born June 10, 1914, to Frank and Minnie Love Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was a self-employed farmer and operated a sawmill in Sarver.
Surviving are his wife, Verna Mae Smay Kelley, whom he married April 5, 1937; five sons; James, Thomas, Kenneth and Albert Kelley, all of Sarver, and Everett Kelley of Worthington; and eight daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Edith) Smock of Freeport, Mrs. Merlin “Dutch” (Grace) Grabe of Butler, Mrs. Clyde (Edna) Hemphill of Sarver, Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Kimmel of Pasadene, Md., Mrs. Douglas (Phyllis) Coury of Saxonburg, Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Mangel of Butler, Bonnie Kelley of Butler, and Mrs. Jeffrey (Kathy) Campbell of Sarver.
Also surviving are a brother, Clifford Kelley of Sarver; two sisters, Helen Reinhold of Cabot and Cora Hess of Tarentum; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, six brothers and a sister.
KELLEY- Friends of Everett Maurice Kelley, who died Sunday, May 18, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Cemetery .
Cameron D. Iseman
Cameron D. “Cam” Iseman, 77, of Millersville, Lancaster County, died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Essa Flory Hospice Center after a four-week illness.
Born in North East, Erie County, he was the son of Willis D. and Marian Hetrick Iseman.
Raised in Butler, he was a 1945 graduate of Butler High School, a 1952 graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College, attended San Francisco City College in 1947 and graduated from Penn State University in 1954 with a master’s degree in theater and English.
He taught at Penn State University from 1953 to 1960 in the theater arts department and was technical director for the Penn State Players. In 1960 he worked part time as a technical writer for Haller Raymond Brown/Singer Co.
He moved to the Lancaster area in 1960 and taught at Millersville University for 22 years before he retired in 1981. While at Millersville, he served in the English department and then in the speech department for public speaking and communication courses, and he was department chair of the speech-drama department. He also started the Children’s Theater and the Four O’Clock Theater and was honored in 1966 by having the school yearbook dedicated to him.
He was a life member of the Millersville VFW Post 7294. He served with the Navy in Europe from 1943 to 1946 and was at the D-Day landing at Normandy Beach. He then served in the Army from 1946 to 1947.
While Butler, he earned his Eagle Scout rank, served as an assistant scoutmaster from 1938 to 1948 and was a member of Alpha Phi Omega Scouting Service from 1950 to 1952. He also was a member of the American Education Theatre Association.
He enjoyed fishing, archery, painting and sculpture and reading.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Murrow Iseman, whom he married June 7, 1953; two daughters, Leigh Alison Iseman of Lancaster and Joan I. Fox of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Beverly Lynn Leibert of Brookville; a brother, William J. Iseman of San Jose, Calif., and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held later. A private inurnment will be held for the family.

Raymond K. Smith
Raymond K. “Little Joe” Smith, 86, of Zelienople died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1916, in Meridian, he was the son of L. Leroy and Alice Charlier Smith.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople and the Cranberry Senior Center.
He is survived by two sisters, Ethel L. Smith of Zelienople and Mrs. Robert (Gene) Johnston of Renfrew; a nephew; and two grandnieces.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and a sister.
SMITH - A memorial service for Raymond K. “Little Joe” Smith, who died Saturday, May 17, 2003, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Park United Presbyterian Church, Zelienople. The Rev. Thomas Clyde will officiate. Private burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.

Virginia L. Eakin Slater
Virginia L. Eakin Slater, 73, of Sandy Lake, formerly of West Sunbury, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday at UPMC Shenango Campus in Farrell, after a 3½-year illness.
Born in Grove City, May 26, 1929, she was the daughter of Henry Eugene and Nellie Hinds Eakin.
A 1947 alumna of Grove City High School, she was a homemaker and had been a secretary and production manager at the Level Works in Parker.
She was a member of Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church in Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Mynheer Slater, whom she married. June 18, 1948; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Shirley) McGinnis of Ashland, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Delores “Dee”) Alessio and Mrs. Jon (Vicki) Pierson, both of Grove City, and Mrs. James (Joan Long) Buchanan of Sarasota, Fla.; and a brother, Donald L. Eakin of Grove City. Four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son and two infant children.

Lynn D. Meier
Lynn D. Meier, 56, of 322 Old Plank Road died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Butler, Dec. 14, 1946, he was the son of Ralph H. and Sophie Zubick Meier.
He worked at AK Steel-Butler Works for 37 years and was employed in the silicon maintenance department.
Mr. Meier was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, William H. Miller F&AM Lodge 769, Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club, Sterling Run Sportsman’s Club of Benezett in Elk County and the National Horse Lovers Club of America. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Bryant Meier, whom he married Feb. 7, 1970; a son, Brent W. Meier of Denver, a daughter, Mrs. John (Bridget) Vissari of Cincinnati; and his parents of Butler.
A memorial service was Saturday at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. James Mohr II officiated.

Wesley Wayne Kriebel
Wesley Wayne Kriebel, 80, formerly of Parker, died of natural causes Saturday at his home in East Brady.
Born in Perry Township, Clarion County, Aug. 16, 1922, he was the son of Samuel W. and Minnie Olive Barger Kriebel.
A World War II Army veteran, he was inducted on Aug. 2, 1943, and he served with the 96th Chemical Mortar Battalion. He later transferred to the 611th Graves Registration Unit, where he served until discharged April 24, 1946. He was awarded the American Campaign, EAME Campaign and World War II Victory medals.
Mr. Kriebel had retired from Glass Containers Corp. of Parker, where he worked most of his adult life.
He was a Protestant. He was a life member of the VFW Post 7073, American Legion Post 598 and the Allegheny-Valley Sportsman’s Club, all of Parker. He also was affiliated with the Bradys Bend American Legion Post.
Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Kriebel of Bear Creek Personal Care, Parker; a sister, Julia Terwilliger of Clarview Rest and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo; a brother, Carl “Kayo” Kriebel of Dutch Hill; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
KRIEBEL - Friends of Wesley Wayne Kriebel, who died Saturday, May 17, 2003, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Parker Presbyterian Cemetery .
Members of the Parker VFW and American Legion posts will conduct a full military veteran’s service at the funeral home after the funeral.
Helen Amrhein Becker
Helen Amrhein Becker, 100, formerly of Brentwood, died Sunday.
She was the wife of the late Aloysius Becker.
Surviving are four children, Paul and Richard Becker, Helen Hixson and Jean Scheeser; 24 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A son and a daughter preceded her in death.
