Russell Adams, Jr., 81, of Fairview, PA died Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Sunnyview Home in Butler, PA.
Born January 17, 1924 in Dora, PA, Porter Township, he was the son of Helen Ruth Gahagan Adams and Russell T. Adams.
He was a graduate of East High School in Erie, PA. A World War II veteran, he served with the Army in the Pacific Arena as an anti aircraft gunner.
Mr. Adams was employed by General Electric Company in Erie where he worked first as a welder, then inspector, until his retirement in 1984. All his life he enjoyed hunting and traveling as well as gardening and studying genealogy and history.
He is survived by two sons: Thomas E. Adams and his wife Barbara of Butler, PA, Robert R. Adams of St. Croix Falls, WI, and one daughter, Sandra L. Adams and her husband Remy DuPasquier of State College, PA.
Also surviving are his stepfather, Kenneth Ball of Stockton, CA, three grandsons, Leif and Derek Adams of St. Croix Falls, WI, Steven Adams of Butler, PA, and one granddaughter, Katrina Adams also of Butler. In addition, he is survived by one great granddaughter, Kayla Adams of Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Elizabeth Burkett Adams, whom he marriage on February 16, 1946. Also preceding him in death were a brother, Grover E. Adams of Erie, and a sister, Geraldine Adams Ester of Stockton, Ca.
Friends and family will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis Molnar officiating.
Interment will follow in Zion Methodist Church, Porter, Pennsylvania.
Pearle Weisenstein
December 15, 1913 - February 25, 2005
Pearle Weisenstein, age 91 of Shanor Heights, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at 5:20 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Monday, December 15, 1913 in Karns City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Irving Myers and the late Anna Bertha Lynch Myers.
Mrs. Weisenstein was a homemaker and she was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one son, Robert C. Weisenstein and one daughter, Mrs. George R. (Carol) Bonnett both of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, one great grandson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Weisenstein was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Weisenstein, who was deceased October 6, 1983 and by one brother and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, February 27, 2005 from 1 to 2.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. following visitation on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Philip W. Williams, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Mrs. Ruth Birckbichler, age 73 of Mill Creek Drive, Derwood, Maryland, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 12:45 p.m. in the Washington County Hospital at Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born December 31, 1932 in Greese City, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John Chupka and the late Anna Bartko.
Mrs. Birckbichler was a secretary for the food service industry.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa White of Gaithersburg, Maryland; one sister, Marlene Pavlo of Silver Springs, Maryland; one brother, Michael Chupka of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and nine nephews and two nieces.
Mrs. Birckbichler was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Birckbichler, who was deceased January 12, 1969.

Carol J. Mincer, age 65 of Shanahan Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 1:47 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 15, 1939 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Darrell R. Matson and the late Helen C. Vinroe.
Mrs. Mincer was a homemaker and also a former unit secretary at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Mincer is survived by her husband, Mark W. Mincer whom she marriage on July 11, 1959 by one daughter, Mrs. James D. (Leslie E.) Schnur of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Adam J. and his wife Holly Schnur of Grove City, Pennsylvania, Eric T. Schnur a student at Grove City College; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Stewart, Mrs. George (Wanda) Beck; three brothers and their wives, Raymond and Mary Matson, James and Marsha Matson, Kenneth and Sonnie Matson, all of Butler, Pennsylvania, her mother-in-law, Mrs. Sophie Elaine Mincer of Butler, Pennsylvania, three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Fennick, Mrs. Nicholas (Holly) Fleischer, both of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, Bonnie Baker and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mincer was preceded in death by one son, Mark "Tim" Mincer who passed away on July 9, 2000.

Marian A. Reed, age 88 of New Haven Court, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 3:43 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born February 12, 1917 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Thomas Craig and the late Anna Graham.
Mrs. Reed was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Reed enjoyed golfing with the Armco Ladies Golf League, bowling with the Butler Church League; she was active with her church including 3-M's group and the Asberry Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Reed is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Betty Jo) McLaren of Girard, Pennsylvania; one son and his wife, Paul E. and Phyllis Reed of Clinton Township, Michigan; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband Paul Graham who passed away on January 8, 1995 and by two sister and three brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, February 24, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, February 25, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. David Panther officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

William Jacob "Bill" Smith
February 28, 1925 - February 20, 2005
William Jacob "Bill" Smith, age 79 of West Pearl Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at 5:45 a.m. in the Butler V A Medical Center.
Born February 28, 1925 in Tyrell, Ohio he was the son of the late John Henry Smith and the late Mary Evelyn Boyle.
Mr. Smith retired as a Forman in the machine shop at Pullman Standard after 30 years of service. He also worked at Superior Auto Parts after his retirement. Mr. Smith was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, and watching sports on TV. He also enjoyed bowling in the Business Men's League and Family Bowlaway Couple League.
Mr. Smith is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Connie) Cornibe of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Edward (Cindy) Hamil of Butler, Pennsylvania, Evelyn Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Jane Smith who passed away on November 16, 2003, and by one daughter.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Dennis Molnar officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
