Mary A. Michael, 79, of Victor Road died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at the Chicora Medical Center after an illness.
Born in Petrolia, Oct. 19, 1923, she was the daughter of David Ralph and Genevieve Buzard Logan.
She was a Methodist.
She had attended Petrolia area schools and had worked at various restaurants in the Butler area for years.
Surviving are her companion, Quinn Flick of Butler; two sons, William L. Michael of Pueblo, Colo., and Edward A. Michael of West Sunbury; a daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Pollyanne) Kreibel of Emlenton; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. She also is survived by two brothers, David Logan of Pittsburgh and Titusville, Fla., and Robert Logan of Springdale; a sister, Maxine Himes of Wellington, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Private funeral services were today at RICHARD D HILLIS FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia. The Rev. David Bowman, pastor of Bruin United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial followed at Bear Creek Cemetery , Petrolia.

Helen Elizabeth Toy Kirkland
Helen Elizabeth Toy Kirkland, 88, of Monroeville and formerly of Sarver died Sunday at Forbes Regional Medical Center in Monroeville.
Born Dec. 16, 1913, in Wickboro, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of Robert and Daisy May Bish Toy.
She was a retired school teacher from the former Clinton Elementary School in the South Butler School District, where she worked 19 years as a second grade teacher.
She was a former member of the Sarver Wesleyan Methodist Church and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
She is survived by a son, Rolland Kirkland of Saxonburg; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Judith) Bartolomeo of Monroeville; a brother, William Toy of Carsonville, Mich.; two sisters, Edna Kirkland of Belleview, Wash., and Mrs. Thomas (Ora Marie) McIntyre of Sarver; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland Kirkland, who died March 7, 1958.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers and a sister.
KIRKLAND - Friends of Helen Elizabeth Toy Kirkland, who died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Sarversville Cemetery , Sarver.

Clifford D. Huffman, 88, of Mars died early today at UPMC Passavant, McCandless.
McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Mars, is completing arrangements.
Robert E. Grosch
Robert E. Grosch, 74, of 101 Valley View Drive died Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital, where he’d been a patient for nine days.
Born July 17, 1928, in Warren, Warren County, he was a son of Everett and Romaine Clark Grosch.
He lived in the Apollo area from 1960 to 1990, moving to Mercer, then to Butler.
While in Apollo, he was employed by Apollo High School as a teacher and basketball coach from 1960 to 1967.
He joined the faculty at Edinboro University in 1967 and stayed until 1987. He was the basketball coach at the Shenango campus of the university until 1987, when he retired.
He is survived by a son, Randall Grosch of Milwaukee, Wis.; two daughters, Janet McConkey and Susan Hockenberry, both of Pittsburgh; a brother, Clark Grosch of Indiana, Pa.; two sisters, Nancy Spencer of Phoenix and Mary Spatafore of North Apollo; and his former wife, Elizabeth Amanecer of Indiana, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
GROSCH - Friends of Robert E. Grosch, who died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME, 100 Owens Drive, Apollo. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell.

June W. Bailey
June W. Bailey, 88, of Callensburg died Sunday morning at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, after a brief illness.
Born July 19, 1914, in Perry Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Burton Lee and Eliza Ann Hutchison Barger.
She was a member of the Hillville Wesleyan Methodist Church at Dutch Hill.
She was a housewife and enjoyed cooking, baking and quilting.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Doretha Aughton, a son, Ray Bailey and a sister, Ruth Stewart, all of Parker; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Arthur R. Bailey, whom she married Oct. 18, 1931, died March 17, 1986. Four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
BAILEY - Friends of June W. Bailey, who died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sligo Cemetery .
Robert Eugene Haskin
Robert Eugene Haskin, 58, of North Washington died at 2:40 a.m. Saturday at home from a heart seizure.
Born July 26, 1944, in Prospect, he was a son of Emory and Thelma Kniess Haskin.
He attended Slippery Rock High School and worked various jobs in the area.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by seven sisters, Mary Jane Bartley of Prospect, Shirley Young of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Charles (Verna) Yearick of Butler, Betty Balazs of Eau Claire, Mrs. Charles (Wanda) Marshall of Petrolia, Brenda Tarr of Butler and Donna Haskin of New Castle; three brothers, Larry Haskin and Gary Haskin, both of North Washington, and James Haskin of Texas.
Also preceding him in death were four sisters and two brothers.
Memorial services will be arranged at the convenience of the family with a private burial in St. John’s Lutheran Stone Church Cemetery .
Arrangements are being made by YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
Helen C. Harbison
Helen C. Harbison, 73, of West Deer Township died Tuesday at home.
Born Feb. 18, 1929, in Russellton, Allegheny County, she was a daughter of Andrew and Jozefa Guzik Logut.
She was a member of the Deer Creek United Presbyterian Church, the West Deer Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Harbison’s hobbies included gardening, golf, tennis, cooking, baking, ceramics and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James Harbison.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cheryl McGraw of Pine Township; two sons, James Harbison of West Deer Township and Dean Harbison of Shaler Township; two sisters, Ann Madey of Saxonburg and Jaye Marchegeano of Valencia; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and a brother.

Michael J. Gatti
Michael J. Gatti, 46, of Butler, formerly of Newburgh, N.Y., died Monday unexpectedly in Pittsburgh.
Born Oct. 19, 1956, in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., he was the son of Marion E. Eagan Gatti and the late Nino Gatti.
He was an elephant handler at the Pittsburgh Zoo for five years. Prior to that, he worked at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago and Bronx Zoo in New York.
Mr. Gatti was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America and various animal conservation organizations.
Surviving are his wife, Mary T. Obermeyer Gatti, whom he married Aug. 24, 1991; his mother of Butler; two brothers, Nino Gatti of Zelienople and Christopher Gatti of Kirkwood, N.Y.; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
GATTI - Friends of Michael J. Gatti, who died, Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St.
The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:35 a.m. Saturday at the church to recite the rosary.

Ethel M. Barton
Ethel M. Barton, 92, of Concordia Haven in Cabot, formerly of Natrona Heights, died Tuesday at Lund Care Center at Concordia Home.
Born in Huntingdon, May 18, 1910, she was the daughter of Gilbert and Katherine Crust Parsons.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and needlework.
Mrs. Barton was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of Cabot.
Her husband, Howard P. Barton, died Oct. 7, 1981.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert G. and Naomi Barton of Natrona Heights; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Morris of Frederick, Md., and Mrs. Mabel Kolarik of North Canton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
BARTON - There will be no public visitation. A memorial service for Ethel M. Barton, who died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot. The Rev. Barry Keurulainen will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.

Douglas G. Walker
Douglas G. Walker, 41, of Bonniebrook Road died at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Butler, Jan. 9, 1961, he was the son of Elden H. and Virginia R. Oesterling Walker.
An alumnus of Butler High School, he was a bricklayer for Etzel Masonry and member of Local 9 of the Bricklayers Union.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Feehan Walker, whom he married July 21, 1984; and a son, Todd Walker at home. Also surviving are his parents of Butler; four brothers, Richard R. Walker of Fenelton and Dennis E., Terry L. and Bradley C. Walker, all of Butler; three sisters, Mrs. David (Sandra) Meier and Debbie Mehrabi, both of Butler, and Mrs. Thomas (Jyll) Clouse of Chicora; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
