Charles S. L. Robinson, 90, of Parker died at 2:15 a.m. today at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, after a brief illness.
Born March 9, 1912, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Charles Prosser and Margaret Alma Lord Robinson.
A 1929 graduate of Parker High School, he earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in 1934 at Harvard University and graduated cum laude. In 1935, he received a master’s of science degree from Harvard and graduated summa cum laude.
He was a licensed professional engineer for more than 50 years and had been a mechanical and nuclear engineer for General Electric, Bethlehem Steel Corp., Westinghouse Electric, General Dynamics and an associate professor in nuclear power at Maine Maritime Academy.
Mr. Robinson was a charter member of The American Nuclear Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and the American Society of Naval Engineers.
He was affiliated with the Robinson Chapel United Methodist Church near Parker and was an avid reader.
Surviving are a son, Samuel F. Robinson of Hampton Falls, N.H.; two grandchildren; four nieces; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Rosella Mae Powell
Rosella Mae Powell, 76, of Zelienople died Tuesday at her home.
Born Nov. 4, 1926, in Harmony, she was the daughter of William Henry and Helen Druschel Powell.
Miss Powell was a member of St. Peter’s Reformed Church of Zelienople and had retired as a stenographer at U.S. Steel, Ellwood City.
She is survived by a sister, Justine Kuntz of Boca Raton, Fla.; and a niece, Jennifer Trivoli Humphrey of St. Petersburg, Fla.
POWELL - Friends of Rosella Mae Powell, who died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter’s Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. The Rev. Ralph Link will officiate. Burial will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
Thomas E. ‘Boots’ Knarr
Thomas E. “Boots” Knarr, 95, of Freeport died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at his home.
Born in Mahaffey, Clearfield County, May 31, 1907, he was the son of Dr. E.F. and Ann Major Knarr.
He was a truck driver at Penn Builders in Tarentum.
Mr. Knarr was a Catholic and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nina McCullough Knarr; two daughters, Mrs. J.D (Sally) Bellows of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Ken (Karen) Segal of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A sister, Louise Pursley of Arlington, Texas, also survives.
Visitation and funeral services were private. Burial was at Circle Hill Cemetery , Punxsutawney.

John H. Felix
John H. Felix, 80, of Forestville died at 12:45 p.m. Monday at his home.
Born in Columbiana, Ohio, March 11, 1922, he was the son of Clark B. and Renia L. Stump Felix.
He had been an equipment operator at Rosswell Mining of Karns City, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Felix was a member of the Forestville United Methodist Church.
He was a World War II Army veteran and a life member of the VFW Post 7073 of Parker.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth L. Ferguson Felix, whom he married Jan, 24, 1946; four daughters, Mrs. Cary (Connie L.) Wiley and Mrs. Brad (Doris E.) Walters, both of Mercer, and Mrs. John (Sandra A.) Thornbury and Mrs. Patrick (Kathleen G.) Thornbury, both of Slippery Rock; four sons, Robert L. and Shirl B. Felix, both of Parker, Kenneth B. Felix of Farrell, and Daniel L. Felix of Forestville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Grace Jamison of Parker, Caroline Wissner of Sewickley and V. Mae Baird of Slidale, La.; and two brothers, Thomas D. Felix of Grove City and Clayton C. Felix of Mercer, also survive.
Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
FELIX - A memorial service for John H. Felix, who died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forestville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Soltis officiating. Burial will be at Slippery Rock Cemetery . JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, Harrisville, is handling arrangements.

Rose Marie Cygan
Rose Marie Cygan, 87, of Butler died Tuesday in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 14, 1915, in Butler, she was a daughter of Joseph and Caroline Camilla Cyran Jablonski.
She was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora and formerly of St. Stanislaus.
Mrs. Cygan enjoyed shopping.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally Gicie of Butler; a son, Richard Cygan of Butler; a sister, Helen Rodgers of Butler; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Doc” Cygan, who died Nov. 19, 1986.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers and three sisters.
CYGAN - Visitation for Rose Marie Cygan, who died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, has been changed to from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. The Rev. James Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery .
John Crummy
John Crummy, 74, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died Tuesday at St. Ann Hospital in Westerville, Ohio, after a two-week illness.
Born Nov. 15, 1928, in Butler, he was the son of Lyle Judson and Elizabeth Truver Crummy.
He was a graduate of Penn State University and moved to Washington Court House in 1970.
Before his retirement, he was manager of J.I. Case Equipment Co., Washington Court House. He then became an agent at Harold Long Real Estate and Auctions.
Mr. Crummy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Washington Court House and a 25-year member of Fayette Lodge F&AM 107. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine and past president of the Washington Shrine Club.
His wife, Darlene M. Chambers Crummy, died Dec. 24, 1999.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah MacDonald and Connie Seymour, both of Washington Court House, and Vickie Crummy of Marina Del Rey, Calif.; a son, Jay Crummy of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two brothers, Donald Crummy of Valencia and Norman Crummy of Painesville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
CRUMMY - A memorial service for John Crummy, who died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Washington Court House. The Rev. Dr. W. Darrell Holmes will officiate. Burial will be at Glade Run Cemetery , Middlesex Township, Butler County. There will be no visitation.

Albert Sherman
Albert Sherman, 72, of Franklin Street in Slippery Rock died Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Feb. 23, 1930, in Braddock, he was the son of Mike and Esther Patkus Sherman.
He had retired as a maintenance man for the Franklin Regional School District.
Mr. Sherman was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Slippery Rock and the West Sunbury American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Sherman, whom he married May 12, 1955; a son, Michael Sherman of Emlenton; two daughters, Lynn Smith of Slippery Rock and Nancy Sherman of Harrisville; and three grandchildren.
SHERMAN - Friends of Albert Sherman, who died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at FICCA FUNERAL HOME, 203 E. Pine St., Grove City. Joseph Warren Powers
Joseph Warren Powers, 79, of Butler died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at his home.
Born in Armstrong County, Feb. 5, 1923, he was the son of James Wylie and Wilma Nancy Rearick Powers.
He had been a truck driver for Service Transit and Freeport Transit. He also had a plastering and stonework business.
During World War II, he was a bombardier with the Army Air Force and was promoted to top torque gunner with the rank of staff sergeant.
M. Powers was a Presbyterian and belonged to the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Katherine Faulst of Valencia Woods; a son, Joseph Warren Powers II of Butler; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Bonnie) Rudert of West Milford, N.J., Mrs. James (Barbara) Jones of Cabot and Mrs. Larry (Diane) Dovey of Butler; a brother, James Powers of Saxonburg; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Margaret Powers) Chambers of Saxonburg; and Mrs. Ruth Powers Powell of Saxonburg.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Edward W. Orth
Edward W. Orth, 91, formerly of North Chestnut Street, died Saturday morning at Chicora Medical Center.
Born in Butler, Nov. 9, 1911, he was the son of William A. and Anna Kihn Orth.
He retired from Armco-Butler Works as a furnace tender on Nov. 30, 1976, after 37 years.
Mr. Orth was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening.
During World War II, he served in the Army 47th Infantry Division.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Roseann) Rudish of Cabot and Kathy Vargo of Columbus, Ohio; a son, David W. Orth of Butler; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
His wife, Mrs. Emma Kron Orth, whom he married in August 1941, died Jan. 23, 1992. He also was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
ORTH - A Mass of ChristAian burial for Edward W. Orth, who died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery . There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME.

Jacob Thomas Kresh
Jacob Thomas Kresh, 2-year-old son of Daniel H. and Kimberly K. Koprivnikar Kresh of 106 Kresh Lane, Butler Township, died at 5:47 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Butler, Oct. 31, 2000.
In addition to his parents, he also is survived by two brothers, Jared Hoffman of Grove City and Patrick Kresh of Butler; a sister, Carolyn Hoffman of Butler; his paternal grandparents, Rudolph and Ann Rose Tanczos Kresh of Butler; his maternal grandparents, John and Evelyn Johnston Koprivnikar of Grove City; and his maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Johnson of Hastings, Mich. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Barnaby and Karen Pierce of Jupiter, Fla., Jack and Irene Rosati of McDonald, Roger and Teresa McDowell of Butler, Thomas Koprivnikar of Grove City, David and Cathy Kresh of Bridgeville and Leonard Kresh of Covington, Ga.; and cousins, Tanner Pierce of Jupiter, Fla., James and Christina Rosati, both of McDonald and Megan McDowell of Butler; five great-aunts; seven great-uncles; and a great-great-aunt.
