Charles G. Jeuther, 74, of Middlesex Township died Friday.
Born Nov. 24, 1927, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Goethilf and Paula Hartman Jeuther.
He was the owner of Sandy Hill Garage for 42 years.
Mr. Jeuther was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a member of the West View Hunting and Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Peindl Jeuther; three daughters, Noreen Voloch of Franklin Park, Janice Neese of Middlesex Township and Pauline Lanzine of Conneaut Lake; a son, Dennis Jeuther of Middlesex Township; a brother, Albert Jeuther of Mars; and nine grandchildren.
JEUTHER - Friends of Charles G. Jeuther, who died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Christopher Wright, pastor of Orchard Hill Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.

Janet L. Ifft
Janet L. Ifft, 81, of 129 Deshon Court in Butler Township died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Conway, Dec. 28, 1920, she was the daughter of William and Jessie Kirker Yeager.
She was a homemaker and had retired as a supervisor at Nationwide Insurance.
Mrs. Ifft was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and a former member of the First Church of God in New Kensington, where she belonged for more than 50 years. She also belonged to the Newcomers’ Club and liked playing bridge, quilting and gardening.
Surviving are her husband, Wilferd “Bill” Ifft, whom she married March 9, 1941; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Susan) Pranno of Chardon, Ohio; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
IFFT - Friends of Janet L. Ifft, who died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. Katherine ‘Kay’ Cihonski
Katherine “Kay” Cihonski, 82, of Saxonburg and formerly of Butler died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Saxony Health Center.
Born Feb. 23, 1920 in Mononga, W. Va., she was a daughter of Michael and Bessie Spryn Mostowy.
She was a member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Cihonski graduated from Bruin High School in 1939 and soon moved to Butler. She worked in the social security section of the federal data depository in West Sunbury, retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Cihonski was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling, quilting, crafting and knitting, including her well-known Santas and Easter Bunnies.
She and her husband were members of the Keystone Squares, a square-dancing group. They competed in a square dancing national competition in 1973 in San Antonio, Texas.
She also was a seamstress.
She is survived by her husband, John Cihonski, whom she married Nov. 11, 1946.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Morris (Carole) Lint of Tiffin, Ohio; three sons, John Cihonski of San Jose, Calif., Richard Cihonski of Midland, Texas, and Daniel Cihonksi of Harrisburg; a sister, Mrs. Francis (Violet) Streitman of Cabot; two brothers, John Mostowy of Butler and Michael Mostowy of Bruin; and seven grandchildren.
Private services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being made by YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.

Stephen Beitch
Stephen Beitch, 56, of East Butler died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Butler, Aug. 7, 1946, he was the son of John and Barbara Malesh Beitch.
He served with the Marines in Vietnam.
Mr. Beitch was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, American Legion Post 117, VFW Post 249, the Slovak Social Club and the East Butler Fireman Club.
He had retired from the strip shears department of AK Steel.
Surviving are his wife, Lenore M. McCommon Beitch, whom he married June 27, 1970; his mother of Butler; a son, Eugene J. Beitch of East Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Christine) Fallecker of Butler; five sisters, Mary Beitch of Lyndora, Mrs. Mitchell (Anna) Habel, Mrs. Larry (Cathy) Sarvey and Theresa Beitch, all of Butler, and Mrs. Gregory (Veronica) Orihel of South Carolina; four brothers, John Beitch of Evans City, Michael Beitch of Maine and Peter and Joseph Beitch, both of Lyndora; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
His father, two sisters and a nephew preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated today at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Maranowski officiating. Burial was at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
Rose M. Santoro
Rose M. Santoro, 64, of Zelienople died Sunday at her home.
Born Oct. 18, 1938, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of Leonard and Helen Scarnato Santoro.
Miss Santoro retired from the dietary department at Passavant Retirement and Health Center in Zelienople after 30 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, Zelienople.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary M. Santoro of Zelienople and Mrs. Victor (Christine) Shaffer of Brookville; and a brother, Brother Benedict Santoro, S.S.P., of Staten Island, NY
A brother preceded her in death.

Mary N. ‘Mamie’ Miller
Mary N. “Mamie” Miller, 81, of Fellowship Manor in Grove City, formerly of Eau Claire and Boyers, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie.
Born in Commerce, Ga., Sept. 14, 1921, she was the daughter of Lovic D. and Lessie L. Dotson Hughes.
She was a homemaker and a Protestant.
Surviving are a son, Charles P. Miller of Volant; and a granddaughter. Two sisters, Mrs. Everett (C. Jean) Painter of Rural Valley and Ellen Melvidere of Texas; and two brothers, Robert L. Hughes of Texas and James D. Hughes of Maryland, also survive.
Her husband, Richard C. Miller, whom she married July 18, 1939, died July 11, 1975. A daughter, two grandsons and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Private services were at JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, Harrisville. The Rev. Williard Morse, pastor of Harrisville United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was at Salem Cemetery , Clarion County.
Vernna Ruth Cottrill
Vernna Ruth Cottrill, 57, of 376 Mahood Road in Center Township died at 10:32 a.m. Monday at Orchard Manor, Grove City.
Born in McKeefrey, W.Va., March 8, 1945, she was the daughter of Jackson Roger and Blanche Ella Henry Wallace.
She had been a teller at the Dollar Bank, Point Plaza.
Mrs. Cottrill was a member of the Muddy Creek United Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dale E. Cottrill; a son, Randell Mickey of Slippery Rock; three stepdaughters, Jacque Gombos of Parker, Judith Fleeger of West Sunbury and Diane Waldren of Butler; and two stepsons, Alan Cottrill of Slippery Rock and James Cottrill of West Sunbury. Also surviving are four grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and a number of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Albert E. Bohrer Jr.
Albert E. Bohrer Jr., 86, of New Kensington died Sunday at his home.
Born June 24, 1916, in Arnold, he was the son of Albert E. Sr. and Mary Shearer Bohrer. He had lived in the Arnold-New Kensington-Lower Burrell area all of his life.
He had worked at American Window Glass Co. in Arnold and at Westinghouse Electro Mechanical Division in Cheswick and retired in 1981.
Mr. Bohrer was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church of Lower Burrell and the New Kensington Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are a son, James H. Bohrer of Prospect; four daughters, Kathleen J. Barbagallo, Leah M. Walsh and Michelle A. Gregory, all of New Kensington, and Aimee D. Switela of Lower Burrell; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
His wife, Laverne DeMoy Bohrer; an infant daughter; a brother; and four sisters preceded him in death.

Phyllis Woodman Shaw
Phyllis Woodman Shaw, 84, of Natrona Heights died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in DuBois, March 30, 1918, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mayme “Vivian” Woodman.
She was a homemaker and had been a baker for the Fox Chapel School District for years.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of the Walters Chapel United Methodist Church, Rural Ridge.
Surviving are a son, Gerald “Gerry” Shaw of Saxonburg; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. James L. (Mary) Angus, Julia Stivenson and Mrs. George (Dessie) Robinson, all of Florida, also survive.
Her husband, John Shaw; two sons; a daughter; two brothers, and a sister preceded her in death.

Judith M. Scratcher
Judith M. “Judy” Scratcher, 57, of 312 Josh-Linn Drive in Prospect, formerly of Pittsburgh, died at 5:07 p.m. Monday at her home.
Born in Pittsburgh, June 26, 1945, she was the daughter of Rinaldo and Geraldine Corsello DiIanni.
She was a reimbursement officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
Mrs. Scratcher was a member and former deacon of the Faith United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Gary L. Scratcher, whom she married Oct. 15, 1983; a daughter Mrs. Wayne (Sally) Lincoln of Sarver; a son, Alan Scratcher of Irwin; a brother, Ronald DiIanni of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters; and a niece.
An infant sister preceded her in death.
