Marie A. Timblin, 85, formerly of Hilliards, died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday at Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, after an illness.
Born in Shippenville, Clarion County, Feb. 19, 1917, she was the daughter of Hays and Catherine Lowers Ace.
She was Protestant.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Gary (Shirley May) Young of Hilliards, Mrs. William (Betty Jane) Page of Foxburg, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) King of St. Petersburg, Clarion County, Mrs. James (Edna) LeVier of Parker, and Mrs. Thomas (Joanne) Eiler of Petrolia; two sons, William Timblin of Foxburg and Richard (Dick) Timblin of Petrolia; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Stewart of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Blakney (Jean) Scott of Petrolia; three brothers, John Ace of Alaska and Leonard and Charles Ace, both of Chicora; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Her husband, Mark W. Timblin, whom she married Dec. 7, 1933, died Oct. 1, 1990. She also was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery , Hooker.
John B. Phillips Jr.
John B. Phillips Jr., 65, of Renfrew died at 1 a.m. Sunday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born April 13, 1937, in Butler, he was the son of John B. Sr. and Salome Elizabeth Welch Phillips.
He was a self-employed pilot.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving are a brother, Ronald Phillips of Dormont; a sister, Mrs. John (Sally) Forcht of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
PHILLIPS - Friends of John B. Phillips, who died Sunday, May 19, 2002, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with his church pastor, the Rev. David Panther, officiating. Entombment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
Mary Maker
Mary Maker, 90, of Chicora died at 1:25 p.m. Thursday at Classy Country Personal Care in Chicora.
Born in Lyndora on Nov. 15, 1911, she was the daughter of Michael and Anna Prexta Homa.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Maker of Butler; three sisters, Julie Sheptak and Mrs. Steve (Elsie) Kosar, both of Butler, and Helen Povlich of Washington, Pa.; two brothers, John Homa of Butler and Paul Homa of East Butler; and three grandchildren.
A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation and services will be private.
Arrangements were by YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
Reno Francis Seybert
Reno Francis Seybert, 93, formerly of West View, died Monday at LAS/Passavant Retirement Center, Zelienople.
He was a 1930 graduate of Thiel College and taught chemistry and math at Oliver High School in Pittsburgh for 32 years.
Mr. Seybert was a longtime, active member of the Brighton-McClure Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh.
Earlier in his life, he was active with the Boy Scouts.
He served in the Army from 1925 to 1926 under Gen. Douglas MacArthur at Camp Meade.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Thompson Seybert of Passavant Retirement Center; two sons, James T. Seybert of Zelienople and Lee F. Seybert of Berwyn, Chester County; a sister, Vivian Geibel of Zelienople; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
SEYBERT - Friends of Reno Francis Seybert, who died Monday, May 20, 2002, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, 1014 California Ave., Avalon. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the United Church of Christ Cemetery , Chicora.

Eleanora H. Schimmel
Eleanora H. Schimmel, 83, formerly of North Washington Street, died at 8:47 p.m. Friday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born in Meadow Lands, Washington County Aug. 11, 1918, she was the daughter of Jacob and Minnie Kler Schimmel.
She had been a nurse practitioner at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Miss Schimmel was a Protestant.
During World War II, she served with the Army Nursing Corps in the Pacific and received a Bronze Star.
She is survived by a sister, Jacqueline B. Shilling of Butler; a niece; and four nephews.
SCHIMMEL - There will be no public visitation. A memorial service for Eleanora H. Schimmel, who died Friday, May 17, 2002, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Oak Spring Cemetery , Canonsburg. The Rev. John Shaver, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Meadow Lands, will officiate.

Paul Raymond Paulick
Paul Raymond “Ray” Paulick, 74, of Sawmill Run Road died early Tuesday at his home after an illness.
Born Oct. 3, 1927, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Paul R. and Frances Dinnin Paulick.
He had been a draftsman in the engineering department at Armco-Butler Works and retired in 1990 after 24 years.
Mr. Paulick was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, where he was active in the church choir and belonged to the Men’s Club. He also was a former Eucharistic minister at St. Fidelis Parish.
He was a former member of the Blazing Star Choral, the Meridian Community Choir and Sing Hosanna.
He was a member of the Meridian Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed winemaking and gardening.
He was a World War II veteran of the Army-Air Corps, served in the Army during the Korean War and later served in the Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly A. Kerry Paulick, whom he married Oct. 6, 1956; two sons, Mark A. and Kerry P. Paulick, both of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Jackie (Beth) Hodapp of Butler and Lauren Gilley of Cabot; and a brother, Donald R. Paulick of Sebastapol, Calif. Also surviving are four granddaughters, a step-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
PAULICK - Friends of Paul Raymond “Ray” Paulick, who died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
Members of St. Fidelis Parish will hold a prayer service at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Alberta Mae McDonald
Alberta Mae McDonald, 88, of McDonald died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at McMurray Hills Manor.
Born Feb. 21, 1914, in Cecil Township, Washington County, she was the daughter of Jesse and Lena Bell Polhamus.
Mrs. McDonald had worked at Suede & Leather of Oakdale and retired as a dietary aide at John Kane Hospital, Scott Township.
She was a member of Venice Presbyterian Church and Millers Run Grange.
Surviving are a daughter, Jane Young of Emlenton; a son, Robert C. McDonald of Canonsburg; and five grandchildren;
Her husband, Craig Andrew McDonald, whom she married July 3, 1947, died April 6, 1971. A brother also preceded her in death.
Services were held today at EUGENE C COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, Cecil, with the Rev. Craig Kephart, officiating. Burial was at Mount Prospect Cemetery .

Thomas Joseph ‘Indian’ Marcheck
Thomas Joseph “Indian” Marcheck, 52, of Butler died May 8 in Franklin Township.
Born July 21, 1949, he spent his childhood at the Mars Home for Youth and several foster homes.
Mr. Marcheck was a combat-disabled Vietnam veteran and worked at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center until he retired several years ago due to his service-related disabilities.
His Army service awards include the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Soldiers Medal, which he was awarded for pulling two soldiers out of a burning helicopter.
Mr. Marcheck was a life member of the General Butler Disabled American Veterans Post 64.
Active in the community, he assisted in fund-raising for the Butler County Humane Society and the DAV Transportation Program at the Butler V.A.M.C. His monetary gifts sponsored children and individuals for various causes.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
There are no known survivors.

Raymond ‘Shorty’ Fowler
Raymond D. “Shorty” Fowler, 73, of 2073 Silverville Road, Freeport, died at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
Born July 19, 1928, in Rimersburg, he was the son of Fred N. and Anna E. Snyder Fowler.
He was a millwright and maintenance man for Freeport Brick for 40 years and retired in 1992.
Mr. Fowler was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Freeport, where he was an usher and a member of the Couples Class.
He was involved with the Freeport Little League Association and the International Invitational Baseball Tournament.
He was an Army veteran of Korean War.
He enjoyed golf, gardening and was a member of a couples card club for 40 years.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Delores J. “Dee” Henry Fowler; a son, Dr. David P. Fowler of Fox Chapel; and four grandchildren. Two brothers, Robert Fowler of Parker and Joseph Fowler of Rimersburg; and a sister, Mrs. William (Virginia) Kahle of Clarion, also survive.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
FOWLER - Friends of Raymond D. “Shorty” Fowler, who died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church of Freeport, 211 Fourth St., with the Rev. William White, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Rimersburg Cemetery .
