John D. Fishburn, 65, of Zelienople died Tuesday at Ellwood City Hospital.
Born March 11, 1937, in Zelienople, he was the son of George A. and Helen E. Giffin Fishburn.
Mr. Fishburn was a member of the Park United Presbyterian Church of Zelienople and the Zelienople Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by two sisters, Tozia Flamagan of Florida and Margie DeCiancio of Zelienople.
A brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Hurray, his church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Zelienople Community Mausoleum.

Bernard Brooks Sutphin
Bernard Brooks Sutphin, 75, of Cranberry Township died Wednesday at St. Francis Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
Born Dec. 23, 1926, in Fairmont, W.Va., he was the son of Therman LaFayette Sutphin and Mary Ellen Saunders Sutphin.
He had worked for the Cranberry Township Parks Department.
Mr. Sutphin enjoyed golfing and bowling.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Betty G. Yost Sutphin, whom he married May 17, 1946; a son, David A. Sutphin of Cranberry Township; a brother, Jack Edward Sutphin of Dublin, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

Grace Adelia King
Grace Adelia King, 69, of 448 E. Main St., Grove City, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Petrolia, July 11, 1932, she was the daughter of George Theodore and Frances Leona McGinnis Craig.
She had been a secretary for several companies for about 20 years.
Mrs. King was a Catholic.
During the Korean War, she served in the Army from Jan. 19, 1951, to Dec. 15,1953.
She is survived by her husband, Gene R. King; whom she married May 21, 1966; three sons, Gene R. “Chip” II, Craig V. and Scott D. King, all of Grove City; two sisters, Mrs. Frederick (Donna J.) Freiters of Chicora and Mrs. Robert R. (Betty L.) Davis of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a brother, John P. Craig of Foxburg. Two grandchildren also survive.
Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Mildred B. Dillner
Mildred B. Dillner, 83, of Middlesex Township died Tuesday.
Born March 16, 1919, in Dorseyville, she was the daughter of William F. and Erla Truver Giesy.
She is survived by two sons, Harry J. Dillner Jr. of Elkton, Md., and James Dillner of Amston, Conn.; a daughter, Connie Roberts of Brookline, Mass.; a sister, Mabel Molinaro of Middlesex Township; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her, husband, Harry J. Dillner, who died in 1992; two sisters; and a brother.

Audrey L. Spillane, 70, of Cranberry Township died Thursday at St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.
Born Oct. 19, 1931, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Raymond H. and Louise N. Hoffman Henzel.
She is survived by a son, Donald R. Spillane of Cranberry Township; a daughter, Maureen Majors of Zelienople; and four granddaughters.
Her husband, Donald J. Spillane, preceded her in death.
SPILLANE - Friends of Audrey L. Spillane, who died Thursday, May 16, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City. Jack L. Smith
Jack L. Smith, 81, formerly of Cranberry Township, died Thursday at Passavant Retirement & Health Center, Zelienople.
Born Sept. 22, 1920, in North Girard, Erie County, he was the son of Isaac and Ruth Koehler Smith.
He graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in North Girard and attended Central Radio & Television Technical School in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Oak Grove Lutheran Church of New Sewickley Township and the Friends of Christ, a Lutheran seniors’ group.
He was a ham radio operator and a member of the Army Airways Communications System, a ham radio operators’ club; and the North Hills Amateur Radio Operators, where he had a Class C license.
Mr. Smith and his wife took more than 30 trips as members of the Elder Hostel Travel Organization. He was an avid Anne Murray fan.
He was a World War II Army-Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Rape Smith, whom he married Aug. 10, 1944; two daughters, Peggy Smith of Saxonburg and Mrs. Bruce (Cindy) Knoechel of Zelienople; two sons, Randy V. Smith of Zelienople and Marty B. Smith of Beaver Falls; and two sisters, Estelle Miller of Bradford and Alida Moore of Emlenton. Two grandchildren also survive.
His stepfather, Norvin McCord, and a brother preceded him in death.
SMITH - There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Jack L. Smith, who died Thursday, May 16, 2002, will by held at 6 p.m. Monday at Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Health Center, Zelienople. The Rev. Ed Robbins, his church pastor, and the Rev. John Hoogerbrugge of Passavant Health Center will officiate. Entombment will be at Zelienople Community Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Lutheran Church, 432 Harkins Mill Road, Zelienople, PA 16063.

W. Paul Bruce
W. Paul Bruce, 84, of Butler died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 31, 1918, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Walter P. and Elizabeth Bennett Bruce.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Bruce had been a truck driver for a number of companies before he retired.
He is survived by his wife, June Tack Bruce, whom he married April 18, 1942; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Paula) Smith of Butler; two sons, David C. Bruce of Wayne, Chester County and W. Douglas Bruce of Butler; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private services were today at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery .
Lori K. Bauer
Lori K. Bauer, 41, of Butler died Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 6, 1960, in Saginaw, Mich., she was the daughter of Harvey Russell and Ruth Larkin Haupt.
She was an inspector at Armco-Butler Works for seven years.
Surviving are her companion, Robert Hilliard; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Hilliard at home; two sisters, Patricia L. Dumbaugh of Paladine, Ill., and Janice Davis of Allentown, Pa.; a brother, Bob Haupt of Mohrsville, Berks County; and two nieces.
BAUER - Friends of Lori K. Bauer, who died Thursday, May 16, 2002, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Evelyn L. ‘Babe’ Black
Evelyn L. “Babe” Black, 71, of Chicora died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday at her home.
Born in Chicora, April 4, 1931, she was the daughter of John F. and Elnora M. Geibel Waltman.
She retired from Witco Chemical Co. in Petrolia, where she had worked for years.
Mrs. Black was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church of Chicora, the Altar-Rosary Society of the church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
She also belonged to the Ladies Bowling League in Bruin, Aubrey’s Ladies Golf League in Butler and the Creative Knitters Club of Chicora. She enjoyed playing cards on the Internet.
Surviving are her husband, Donald E. Black, whom she married Oct. 24, 1953; a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Raylene) Woznick of Johnstown; two sons, Donald and Kevin Black, both of Chicora; and seven grandchildren. She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Graham of Chicora and Mrs. Ethel Marie Boal of Fenelton; a brother, Clyde Waltman of Chicora; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, including her twin sister, and a brother preceded her in death.

John R. Cheeseman
John R. Cheeseman, 76, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, formerly of Portersville, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Gardens at Celina in Celina, Ohio.
Born Oct. 1, 1925, in Portersville, he was the son of the Rev. George and Bess Laderer Cheeseman.
A graduate of Muddy Creek Township High School, he had founded and operated John Cheeseman Trucking in Fort Recovery.
Mr. Cheeseman served with the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fort Recovery, the Ohio American Legion and the American Truck Historical Society.
He attended LeTourneau University in Long View, Texas.
Surviving is his wife, Doris Hildbold Cheeseman, whom he married on Feb. 4, 1947.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jill Bowling of Bourbonnais, Ill.; a son, Max Cheeseman of Fort Recovery; a brother, George Cheeseman of Portersville; a sister, Mary Baldor of Miami; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
CHEESEMAN - Friends of John R. Cheeseman, who died Thursday, May 9, 2002, will be received from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Buddy Sea Ltd., 1303 Commerce St., Fort Recovery, and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Nazarene in Fort Recovery. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. John Perkins, the Rev. Verl Ballmer and Dr. John Bowling officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery in Fort Recovery.
Military graveside honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Portersville.
