Delores Perrett, 71, of 211 Caravan Court died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at her home.
She was born Sept. 1, 1930, in New Castle.
Surviving are two daughters, Lori Soose of Slippery Rock and Kayleen Shoffner of Sandusky, Ohio.
Visitation was private. Services were at 1 p.m. today at ED & DON DECARBO FUNERAL HOME, New Castle. Burial was at St. Vitus Cemetery , New Castle.

Donald S. ‘Don’ Gregg
Donald S. “Don” Gregg, 75, of Orrville, Ohio, and Holiday, Fla., died Sunday at his home in Orrville.
Born Oct. 16, 1926, in Butler, he was the son of John R. Sr. and Bonita E. Stuart Gregg.
He was a 1944 graduate of Butler High School and an alumnus of Slippery Rock College.
From 1964 to 1987, he lived in Portsmouth, Ohio, where he was plant manager at the New Boston Coke Corp.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; the Portsmouth Elks; the Moose Lodge of New Port Ritchey, Fla.; and the American Legion Post 282 of Orrville.
During World War II, he was a Navy apprentice seaman.
He is survived by his wife, Louella Scott Billiter, whom he married June 23, 1980, in Clintwood, Va.; a son, Donald “Don” Gregg of Baltimore, Md.; three stepsons, James Richard “Rick” Billiter of Orrville, Gary Franklin “Rocky” Billiter of Portsmouth and Randall Douglas “Randy” Billiter of San Diego.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A brother and a grandson preceded him in death.
GREGG - There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Donald S. “Don” Gregg, who died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at AUBLE FUNERAL HOME, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville, with the Rev. Brad Dews officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Florence M. Cunningham
Florence M. “Pinky” Cunningham, 54, of New Castle died Monday at Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle.
Born in New Castle, Feb. 28, 1947, she was the daughter of Charles W. Sr. and Helen A. Barris Terpilowski.
She was a sales clerk at JoAnn Fabrics for six years and previously worked at Fisher’s Big Wheel.
Mrs. Cunningham was a member of Clifton Flat Alliance Church and the National Rifle Association Sharpshooters Club.
She enjoyed sewing, doll making and other crafts.
Surviving are her husband, Edward D. Cunningham; two daughters, Helen M. Ferringer of New Castle and Beth A. Cunningham of Youngstown, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Her parents of New Castle; a brother, Charles W. Terpilowski Jr. of New Castle; and two sisters, Helen June Call and Patricia Brown, both of New Castle, also survive.
CUNNINGHAM - Friends of Florence M. “Pinky” Cunningham, who died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at WILLIAM F. & ROGER M. DeCARBO FUNERAL HOME, New Castle. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Douglas Williams, officiating.
William J. Salak
William J. Salak, 89, a 55-year resident of Sherrett, Armstrong County, died Wednesday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning.
Born June 21, 1912, in Cowansville, he was the son of John and Catherine Turek Salak.
He had retired from the Republic Steel Mining Co. and had been the secretary-treasurer of his local union.
Mr. Salak was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of Bradys Bend and the Young at Heart Club of the church.
He was an avid gardener and sports fan.
Surviving are a son, Raymond Salak of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Catherine Maurer of Power, Mont., Andrea Salak of Pittsburgh and Mary Lou Craig of Cowansville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by five brothers, Andrew Salak of Kittanning, Frank Salak of Abingdon, Va., Joseph Salak of Lower Burrell, George Salak of Clearwater, Fla., and John Salak of Meadville; and three sisters, Jessie Paris of Broadalbin, N.Y., Martha Alland of Santa Monica, Calif., and Stella Edmonds of Sarver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Tertychny Salak, who died June 15, 1989, and a sister.
SALAK - Friends of William J. Salak, who died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Cowansville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bradys Bend. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery , Bradys Bend.
A parish wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Edward W. Platt
Edward W. Platt, 87, of 102 Mohawk Drive died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.
He was born in Mercer County June 18, 1914.
Mr. Platt was a graduate of Grove City College and retired as general foreman of the zinc processing department at Armco-Butler Works after more than 40 years.
Mr. Platt was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church, Victory Lodge 694 F&AM, Scottish Rite of New Castle and the Armco Veterans’ Club. He was a former member of Armco Golf Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Prprich Platt, who died June 19, 1998.
Surviving is a daughter, Alice M. Platt of Bradenton, Fla.
PLATT - Friends of Edward W. Platt, who died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with his pastor, the Rev. Clark Sawyer, officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
Officers and members of Victory Lodge 694 F&AM will hold a memorial service at 6:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ora V. Lutz
Ora V. Lutz, 98, of Harmony and formerly of Zelienople died Wednesday at the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.
Born June 29, 1903, in New Castle, she was a daughter of Edward and Lucy Downey Smith.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Shirley) McWithey of Zelienople and Mrs. James (Carol) Kos of DuBois; a sister, Mae McClintock of New Castle; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Lutz, who died Jan. 2, 1972, and whom she married July 25, 1925.
Also preceding her in death were a brother and five sisters.
LUTZ - Friends of Ora V. Lutz, who died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Maurice Smith Jr., her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Reformed Church Cemetery in Zelienople.

Kenneth W. Fackender
Retired Chief Master Sgt. Kenneth W. Fackender, U.S. Air Force, 80, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died Jan. 22, 2002.
Born in Wierton, W.Va., June 24, 1921, he was the son of William and Hilda Fackender and had lived in Butler for years.
In 1968, he retired at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., after a 29-year career in the Air Force. During his career, he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. During WWII, he was a prisoner of war in a Japanese prison for 3½ years.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Fackender; two daughters, Patty Schofield and Judi DeWalt, both of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Shirley Garrett of San Diego; two stepsons, Ed and James Shaw; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
Graveside services were Jan. 26 at Rose Lawn Cemetery , Gulf Breeze. Full military honors were accorded by the Air Force Honor Guard.

Treva V. Buzard
Treva V. Buzard, 90, formerly of Parker, died at 5:50 a.m. Thursday at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo following an illness.
Born Sept. 3, 1911, in West Monterey, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Merle H. and Dora Davis Logan.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Buzard was a member of the United Methodist Church of Parker and the United Methodist Women.
She also was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, ladies auxiliaries to the Parker American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Lucille) Donaldson of Evans City; two sons, Carl E. Buzard of Karns City and H. Jack Buzard of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Buzard, who died July 17, 1972, and whom she married in October 1929.
BUZARD - Friends of Treva V. Buzard, who died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Wayne Street, Parker, and for an hour preceding the funeral service, which is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Parker. Burial will be at Parker Presbyterian Cemetery .
Mary E. Vensel Burns
Mary E. Vensel Burns, 61, of Butler died Wednesday evening at her home after an illness.
Born Jan. 27, 1941, in Butler, she was the daughter of Austin and Della Double Vensel.
She was retired from Magnetics, East Butler.
Mrs. Burns was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church and the BUCO Travel Trailer Club.
She was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are her husband, Harry “Hap” Burns, whom she married June 6, 1959; a son, Randy Burns of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Jeffrey (Beth) Smith of Fenelton and Mrs. Jeffry (Amy) Vodenichar of Stoneboro; and seven grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Howard Vensel of Butler; a sister, Doris Morgan of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
BURNS - A celebration of life for Mary E. Vensel Burns, who died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church with church pastor, Rev. Jeffrey Curtis, officiating.
Private services will be held by the family. Private burial will be at Mount Chestnut Cemetery .

Robert Wesley Burnett
Robert Wesley Burnett, 46, of Hoover, Ala., died at 8:15 a.m. Jan. 22 at Brookwood Memorial Hospital, Birmingham, Ala., after a 2½-year illness.
Born in Grove City, Sept. 25, 1955, he was the son of Donald V. and Janet Chambers Burnett.
He was a 1973 graduate of Grove City High School, an alumnus of Butler University in Atlanta, Ga., and received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama.
Mr. Burnett was an assistant to the vice president of Bell South Corp., where he worked for more than 23 years.
Surviving are his wife, Melissa Graves Burnett, whom he married Feb. 24, 1978; and two sons, Jeremy Burnett of Auburn, Ala., and Jonathan Burnett at home. His parents of Harrisville; a sister, Mrs. Michael (Kathy) Baker of Clintonville; two brothers, Ron L. Burnett of Berkley, Mass., and Jay Burnett of Rehoboth, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
BURNETT - A memorial service for Robert Wesley Burnett, who died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hendersonville United Methodist Church in Mercer County. The Rev. Robert Getschman, church pastor, will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, Grove City.
