She was born May 1, 1896.
Surviving is a son, Charles Hay of Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her husband.

Velma M. Gamble
Velma M. Gamble, 86, of Gerry, N.Y., formerly of Butler, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Valley Health Care Center in Gerry.
Born Dec. 2, 1915, in Butler, she was the daughter of Warren N. and May Hicks McIntyre.
She taught elementary school for 35 years, most of which were in the Butler School District. She retired from Northwest Elementary School in Butler in 1976.
Mrs. Gamble was a member of the Butler Free Methodist Church until 1983, when she moved to Gerry. She was a member of the Gerry Free Methodist Church.
She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club.
She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Gamble, whom she married June 9, 1970. Also surviving are a stepson, Robert Lee Gamble, of Hillsboro, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. William (Ruth) Sittig, of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, Harvey L. McIntyre, of Butler; a number of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter and a brother.
GAMBLE - Friends of Velma M. Gamble, who died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Andy Flowers, pastor of Community Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
Kenneth Laverne Dean
Retired Lt. Col. Kenneth Laverne Dean, US Army, 72, of Summerville, S. C., died Thursday at his home.
Born Oct. 22, 1929, in Portersville, he was the son of John Gale and Lillian May Liese Dean.
He graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, Pa., and enlisted in the Army, where he became a sergeant. He then attended officers candidate school. He served in the Army for 24 years.
After he retiring from the Army, he worked for the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was a warehouse manager for Georgia Pacific.
He was a volunteer for the Summerville Medical Center and was a member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth “Kennie” Dean; a daughter, Debra Gaffey, of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Bernice Tinsley of Wilmore, Ky., Freda Fresty of St. Petersburg, Fla., Elsie Campbell of Mercer and Alice Schuller of Willard, Ohio; six brothers, John Dean of Richmond, Va., Fred Dean of Brookville, Howard Dean of Hummels Wharf, Pa, Randy Dean of Augusta, Ga., Alan Dean of Naples, Fla., and Chuck Dean of Portersville; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
DEAN - Friends of Kenneth Laverne Dean, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at JAMES A. DYAL FUNERAL HOME, 303 S. Main St., Summerville, S.C. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Summerville Presbyterian Church. Burial with full military honors will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C.

Twila M. Bono
Twila M. Bono, 85, of Rivercliff Terrace, formerly of Worthington R.D. 1, died Saturday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning.
Born in Conifer, April 28, 1917, she was the daughter of Dominic Percella and Mary Donaldson Percella Davis.
She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Rocco Bono; three sons, James Bono of Kittanning, Edward Bono of Indiana and Herman Bono of Gibsonia; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Rose Schwemm of Etna and Isabel Galzerano of Cadogan, also survive.
Five brothers preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Roman Catholic Church, Coylesville, with the Rev Lou Pascazi officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington.
Wilda A. Barnett
Wilda A. Barnett, 77, of Whitestown Road died Thursday evening at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 28, 1924, in Karns City, she was the daughter of Milford V. and Annie B. Sherwin Myers.
She was the tax collector for Connoquenessing Township from 1973 to 1989.
Mrs. Barnett was a member of the St. John’s Reformed Church of Meridian. She also belonged to the Women of Faith Circle, where she was the treasurer for years, and the Meridian Area Retired Citizens.
She enjoyed quilting, needlework and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph O. Barnett, whom she married Sept. 24, 1947; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (N. Gayle) Radwanski of Butler; a son, David R. Barnett of Smithsburg, Md.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Rosella Fleming of Zelienople and Mrs. Dewitt (Annabel “Pete”) Cress of Butler; a brother, M. Duane Myers of Bethesda, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews, also survive.

Frank J. Berteotti Jr.
Frank J. Berteotti Jr., 53, of R.D. 3, Kittanning, died Friday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in East Franklin.
Born in Kaylor, Pa., on Dec. 1, 1949, he was the son of Frank Berteotti Sr. and Mary E. Montgomery.
He is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. Berteotti was an Army veteran, having served in Vietnam and earning the rank of sergeant. He received the Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and the Air Medal.
He was a Catholic.
He was a 1967 graduate of East Brady High School.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 488, VFW Post 4843 and a member of the U.M.W.A.
BERTEOTTI - Friends of Frank J. Berteotti Jr., who died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., Cowansville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Father Raphael Glinkowski O.S.P. officiating.

Ray T. Zitzman
Ray T. Zitzman, 68, of Saxonburg died Sunday at his home.
Born in Saxonburg, Feb. 10, 1933, he was the son of Oscar and Laura Beckman Zitzman.
He retired as a security guard at US Steel in Saxonburg.
Mr. Zitzman was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Co. and Saxonburg Ambulance.
He was an Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Gamble Zitzman, whom he married Aug. 20, 1955; a niece, Mrs. Todd (Rachel Perine) Tressler, of Virginia, whom he raised; three brothers, Fred Zitzman of Cabot, Frank Zitzman of Saxonburg and Albert Zitzman of Rimersburg; a sister, Mrs. Edna Batcher of Saxonburg; and other nieces and nephews.

Sonya Jean Wade
Sonya Jean Wade, 40, of Jefferson Township died at 4:05 p.m. Friday at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.
Born in Harrison Township, Allegheny County, Aug. 21, 1961, she was the daughter of Elaine Skurka McCune and the late Thomas William McCune.
She was a homemaker and an avid Steeler fan. She also collected mice.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Wade, whom she married Sept. 12, 1981; her mother of Saxonburg; a brother, Thomas William McCune of Saxonburg; two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Kimberly) Leroy of Lompoc, Calif., and Mrs. Lucille McCune of Cabot; and her paternal grandfather, William McCune of Brownsville. She also is survived by 22 nieces and nephews and four grandnieces and grandnephews.

Floyd D. Treich
Floyd D. Treich, 82, of Butler died Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Ingomar, July 7, 1919, he was the son of Maurice and Ada Hite Treich.
He retired as a unit operator No. 3 in the anneal and pickle department at Armco-Butler Works after 35 years. He also had been a Pennsylvania state constable and deputy sheriff for former county Sheriff Pete Watson.
Mr. Treich was a member of Freeport Road Alliance Church, Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, Saxonburg VFW Post 7376 and American Legion Post 683.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at his camp.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Doerr Treich, whom he married Feb. 23, 1957; two sons, George Treich of Cabot and Ray Treich of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Marian Holton of Brownsdale; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson.

Joan C. Somerville, 72, of 114 Shanahan Road, Center Township, died at 6:50 p.m. Friday at her home.
Born in Butler, May 23, 1929, she was the daughter of John and Annabelle Shipley Hixon.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards.
Mrs. Somerville was a member of the North Main Street Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Somerville, whom she married April 14, 1950; a son, Jon Somerville of Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Sue) Smith of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mrs. Burt (Marylou) Tibbs of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two nephews.
