Sue S. Paganelli, 89, formerly of Morton Avenue, died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born in Kaylor, Feb. 25, 1912, she was the daughter of George and Susie Sciranka Skunda.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the Spaide Shirt Factory. She also had done clothing alternations for McCarren’s and Benson’s clothing stores.
Mrs. Paganelli was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, 55 & Alive of St. Michael Church, and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
She was an avid card player.
Surviving are her husband, Bruno Paganelli, to whom she was married for 69 years; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Joan) Stelbotsky of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Paul Skunda of Bredinville; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ann) Kononchuk of Butler and Mrs. William (Helen) Prokopchak of Lyndora; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Four brothers preceded her in death.

James Dolan, church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the church Cemetery .
The Bereavement Group of St. Michael Parish will hold a Scriptural wake service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Margaret A. O’Donnell
Margaret A. “Nana” O’Donnell, 78, of Plum died Friday evening at her daughter’s home in Butler.
Born Dec. 19, 1923, in Blawnox, she was the daughter of William and Margaret Winter Schettley.
She was a homemaker and lived in Plum since 1952.
Mrs. O’Donnell was a member of St. John the Baptist Church of Plum and St. Edward Church of Blawnox.
She enjoyed painting, embroidering and dancing.
Surviving are three daughters, Karen L. Kozusko of Butler, Carol L. Smucker of Mars and Amy L. Wilson of Plum; five sons, Daniel M. O’Donnell of Freeport, Timothy P. O’Donnell of Cranberry Township, George J. O’Donnell of Export and Michael D. and Kerry R. O’Donnell, both of Plum. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband, George J. O’Donnell, to whom she was married for 50 years, died Jan. 14, 1991. A grandson, a granddaughter, a brother and a sister also preceded her in death.

John O. Koontz
John O. Koontz, 79, of Zelienople died Friday at the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.
Born Oct. 14, 1922, in Bowling Green, Ohio, he was a son of Clyde and Lila Frankfathor Koontz.
He was a member and past president of the Lions Club.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Koontz, whom he married in 1951.
Also surviving are three sons, John Koontz of Richmond, Va., Randy Koontz of Waterford, Conn., and Bruce Koontz of Hughesville, Md.; four daughters, Carol Reese of Toledo, Ohio, Barbara Emerick of Fombell. Debra Burgh of Zelienople, and Vicki Eppinger of Harmony; two brothers, John Koontz of Arizona and Robert Koontz of California; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.

Anna L. Cavett Eilenfeld
Anna L. Cavett Putz Eilenfeld, 80, of Brackenridge died Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1921, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Lee and Beulah Depp Cavett.
She was a bookkeeper/deputy controller for Butler County for years, retiring in 1981.
After her retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for Saxonburg Borough.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her second husband, Herbert Eilenfeld, whom she married seven years ago.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Laird (Harriet) Parke of Apollo and Mrs. Jay (Paula) Mauri of Erie; a stepson, Richard Eilenfeld of Fawn Township; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lou (Carol) Dominick of New Cumberland; a brother, Blair Cavett of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Putz, who died in 1993, and two brothers.
EILENFELD - Friends of Anna L. Cavett Putz Eilenfeld, who died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Cabot United Methodist Church. Services will follow at noon at the church with the Rev. Dennis Swineford, her pastor, officiating. Private burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.

Leslie C. ‘Les’ Young
Leslie C. “Les” Young, 80, of Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, died Sunday at the Chicora Medical Center.
Born Oct. 11, 1921, in Cowansville, he was the son of Ollie B. and Jemina A. Gutherie Young.
He was a heavy equipment operator and retired from West Freedom Mining Co. in 1986.
Mr. Young served with the Headquarters Co., 1st Engineers, Special Brigade of the Army during World War II. He campaigned in the Southern Philippines, Algeria-French Morocco, Naples-Foggia, Normandy, Northern France and Okinawa. He earned a European-Asian-Middle Eastern Theater ribbon with five Bronze Stars and a Bronze Arrowhead and an Asiatic-Pacific Theater ribbon with two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct ribbon.
He enjoyed professional wrestling, playing cards and woodworking.
He was a member of the Kaylor United Methodist Church, Bradys Bend American Legion Post 488 and Rimersburg VFW Post 7132.
Surviving are his wife, Rose M. Young of Kaylor, whom he married May 6, 1950; two daughters, Darlene K. Ford of Kaylor and Debbie Meals of Rimersburg; a brother, Hartzell D. Young of Perry Township, Armstrong County; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Seth Thomas Walker
Seth Thomas Walker, 64, of Valencia died Monday afternoon in the emergency room at St. Francis Hospital North, Cranberry Township.
Born in Pittsburgh, May 12, 1937, he was the son of Seth M. and Dorothy Prentiss Walker.
He was a tile installer for Molyneaux Tile in Verona and for other tile installation services.
Mr. Walker was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Cole Walker, whom he married June 23, 1962; a son, Thomas Walker of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Matthew (Deanna) Nuss and Lori Walker, both of Valencia; a brother, James Edward Walker of Chicora; and four grandchildren.
A brother preceded him in death.

Ruth S. Stitt
Ruth S. Stitt, 83, of Cabot died Sunday at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
Born March 31, 1918, in Vandergrift, she was the daughter of Alex and Grace Flickinger Storey.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Stitt is survived by her husband, Daniel E. Stitt Jr. Also surviving are three sons, Dennis Stitt of Butler, Daniel Stitt III of Leeper, and Douglas Stitt of Michigan; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Anderson of California; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandchild.
Burial will be private.

Charlotte M. Ray
Charlotte M. Ray, 94, of Worthington R.D. 1 died Monday at Kittanning Care Center.
Born May 23, 1908, in Logansport, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Otto and Rebecca Flick Pfaff.
She was a homemaker and attended the First United Methodist Church in Butler.
Surviving are her husband, Wilbert Ray; two sons, Gordon Ray of Butler and Daryl Ray of Worthington R.D. 1; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
A sister and a grandson preceded her in death.

Joseph M. Potochny
Joseph M. Potochny, 81, of Pasadena, Texas, died Dec. 19, 2001.
He was born in Butler, March 31, 1920.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Deer Park, Texas; the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 521.
Mr. Potochny had retired from Armco.
He served in the Army Air Force from 1944 to 1947.
Surviving are two brothers, Steve Potochny of Missouri and Bill Potochny of Butler; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His wife, Virginia Potochny, preceded him in death.
Arrangements were by Pasadena Funeral Chapel.
Thomas P. Parnell
Thomas P. Parnell, 86, of Saxonburg, formerly of Cabot, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Huron County, Ohio, on March 9, 1915, he was the son of George and Hariette Rowe Parnell.
He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Parnell was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Saxonburg, Armstrong Lodge 239 F&AM of Freeport, Scottish Rite of New Castle, Syria Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Cheswick, Syria Caravan 14 of Butler, and was a former president of the Butler Shrine Luncheon Club.
He was a past commander of VFW Post 7376 of Saxonburg and a member of the American Legion Post 683 and the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and a life member of Tanglewood Senior Center.
During World War II, he served with the Army in England and France.
He enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl L. Neubert Parnell, whom he married Nov. 8, 1986; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charolett Harris Parnell, who died in 1984; two brothers; and two sisters.
