Elsie M. Sims, 95, of the Brentwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Born April 24, 1906, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John Addison Riggs and Margaret McKee Riggs.
She retired from the W.W. Lawrence Paint Co. in Pittsburgh in 1956, where she had been a switchboard operator.
She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church of Cabot and a former member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Brentwood.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fern Fitzpatrick of Slippery Rock; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, six sisters and two great-grandchildren.
SIMS - Friends of Elsie M. Sims, who died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, may attend a memorial service at Concordia Haven I in Cabot at 10 a.m. Thursday. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Brentwood. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery .
Her family suggests memorial donations be sent to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 615 Pike Road, Cabot 16023.

Myrtle L. Cooper
Myrtle L. Cooper, 96, of Worth Township, formerly of Portersville and Volant, died Monday at her home.
Born Dec. 1, 1905, in Muddy Creek Township, she was the daughter of Stephen and Clara Snyder Frazier.
She was a homemaker and member of West Liberty Presbyterian Church in West Liberty. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by a son, Carl W. Cooper, with whom she lived; a brother, Joseph Frazier of Hesperia, Calif.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cody C. Cooper, whom she married May 8, 1923. He died Jan. 22, 1990.
She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two sisters.

Harvey Dailey
Harvey “Red” Dailey, 71, of Cowansville died Tuesday at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Aspinwall.
Born May 1, 1930, in West Kittanning, he was the son of Theodore and Ruth (Snyder) Dailey.
Dailey worked for Snyder Associated Companies before his retirement. He was a member of Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and football fan. He was a football and baseball player in his youth, and a member of the Kittanning Class of ’48.
He was a member of the Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville for more than 50 years, and was a member of the American Legion Post 488 in Kaylor, the Burnt Ridge Bow and Gun Club, the East Franklin Fire and Rescue and was a deputy game protector for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Jean (Pence) Dailey, whom he married July 17, 1951.
Also surviving are three sons, Harve Dailey of Kittanning, Mike Dailey of Karns City and Scott Dailey of East Brady; a brother, Richard Dailey of Cowansville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
DAILEY - Friends of Harvey “Red” Dailey, who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Union First Presbyterian Church in Cowansville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Mary Marks King officiating. A service will also be held at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion Post 488 in Kaylor. Burial will be at Cowansville Cemetery . Memorial contributions can be made to the Union First Presbyterian Church.
Mike Guidish
Mike Guidish, 76, of 13 Ohio St., Latrobe, formerly of Butler, died Monday at his home.
Born Aug. 10, 1925, in Butler, he was the son of Stefan and Eve Kitko Guidish.
He was a construction worker for Shank Construction until his retirement. He had also worked as a coal miner in the Butler area.
Guidish served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 249 in Butler.
He was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Butler.
Surviving is a son, Michael D. Guidish of Butler; a brother, John Guidish of Farrell; a granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Ross Guidish, who died June 30, 1999; three brothers; and four sisters.

Doris Louise Nellis
Doris Louise Nellis, 78, of Karns City died at 12:30 a.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 18, 1923, in Argentine, Pa., she was the daughter of Walter Perry Ekis and Viola Ida Young Ekis.
She was a homemaker and member of the Jehovah Witness Congregation in Karns City.
She is survived by a daughter, Viola White of Karns City; a son, John Mark Nellis of Karns City; a sister, Bonnie Christy of Karns City; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Nellis, who died Sept. 21, 1956; a sister and a brother.

William Zavacky Jr.
William Zavacky Jr., 59, of Fourth Avenue in Butler died Monday at his home.
Born May 22, 1942, in Butler, he was the son of William and Mary Behary Zavacky.
Zavacky worked as a vending machine serviceman for Logan Candy Company in Butler for 30 years before he retired in 1992.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his mother, Mary Zavacky of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph A. (Lori) Wiest of Butler, and Diane M. Schmool of Sadieville, Ky.; a brother, Raymond Zavacky of Bath, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. George (Cynthia) McClelland of Bluffton, S.C.; four grandchildren and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Bernsteil Zavacky, who died Jan. 23, 1988.

LeOra Mary Jacob
LeOra Mary Jacob, 67, of Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, died of natural causes at 11:36 a.m. Monday at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born in Smicksburg, Indiana County, Sept. 28, 1934, she was the daughter of Blair Joseph and Clara May Hartzell Eckman.
She had served in the Air Force for 10 years prior to her marriage. She then worked for the Federal Government Office of Personnel Management in Boyers from 1987 to 1999.
Mrs. Jacob was a member of the World Wide Church of God, Youngstown, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Jacob whom she married Oct. 24, 1959; two daughters, Ethel Jacob of Staten Island, N.Y., and Patty Anna Harper of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Dora Lewis of Pulaski and Mildred Wright of New Castle; and a brother, Robert Eckman of Pell City, Ala.
A brother preceded her in death.

Jean Elizabeth Lewis, 74, formerly of Zelienople, died at 8:25 p.m. Dec. 10 at Sugar Creek Rest, near Worthington.
Born Jan. 3, 1927, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of John D. and Eva C. Frishkorn Lewis.
She has no known relatives.

Adam S. Schaffer
Adam S. Schaffer of Colleen Street died Monday morning.
He was born in Lyndora, a son of the late Adam and Nellie (Grystar) Schaffer.
Mr. Schaffer retired in 1963 as an inspector in the stainless inspection department of the Butler Armco Steel Corp. plant where worked there for 35 years.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He was a member of the Armco Veterans Club and had been an active outdoors sportsman, including hunting and fishing. He also was an avid gardener.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Voters Hall of Fame.
He is survived by a son, Robert L. Schaffer of Middlesex Township; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Olen) Schaffer, who died Aug. 20, 1997, and whom he married May 26, 1934.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, five sisters and a grandson.

Elmer Stamp
Elmer Stamp, 80, of Cranberry Township died Monday morning at Passavant Hospital, McCandless.
Born Feb. 1, 1921, in Mansfield, Ill., he was the son of Thomas Robert and Sarah Elizabeth Carter Stamp.
He was a founding member of the Bible Baptist Church, Cranberry Township, and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Stamp had retired from American Bridge in Ambridge as a welding inspector after 42 years.
During World War II, he served with the Army 306th Ordnance Maintenance Co.
He is survived by a son, the Rev. Robert Stamp of Cranberry Township; two sisters, Mrs. Eileen Sarver of Evans City and Mrs. Irene Morgan of Las Vegas, Nev.; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marylee Gray Stamp, who died Feb. 19, 2000; and by four brothers.
