Paul L. Weaver, 68, of Sunnyview Nursing Home, formerly of Fenelton, died Monday at Sunnyview Home.
Born Dec. 6, 1933, he was a son of Charles and Julia Weaver Walker.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He worked for more than 20 years out of Union Local 66 of the Operating Engineers in Monroeville.
He was a member of the McKee Chapel United Methodist Church in Fenelton.
He was a Navy veteran and member of the USS Zellars Association.
He also was a gold card member of the Happy Hunters Sportsmen’s Club in Fenelton.
Surviving are six brothers: David E. Walker of Slippery Rock; Theodore C. Walker of Fenelton; Richard C. Walker of Butler; James C. Walker of Vancouver, Wash.; Robert D. Walker of Cabot; and Randy E. Walker of Lomita, Calif.; three sisters: Mrs. Janice Graham and Donna Walker, both of Butler; and Mrs. Norman (Madeline) Young of Hilliards; 30 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
WEAVER – Friends of Paul L. Weaver, who died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sherry Cook, pastor of McKee Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery .
Eleanore Campbell
Eleanore McCowin Campbell, 67, of Brandywine, Md., formerly of Butler, died Dec. 7, 2001, at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.
She is survived by five children: David, Leslie, Desiree, Dale and Drew; a sister, Mary McCowin Glick of Annapolis, Md.; and two brothers, Tom McCowin of Port Orange, Fla., and Paul McCowin of Biloxi, Miss.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
George ‘Lee’ Collins Jr.
George B. “Lee” Collins Jr. of Cranberry Township died Sunday.
Born in Washington, Pa., he was the son of George B. and Mary Elizabeth Hickey Collins.
Mr. Collins owned a screen-printing business in Cranberry Township and was a full-time employee at Lowe’s in Cranberry Township.
He was the designer and creator of the logo and slogan for the Seneca Valley School District.
Mr. Collins was the district chief for the Beta Theta Phi National Fraternity, a member of the Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Sports Car Club of America.
He also was active in community events.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Mueller Collins; a daughter, Kristen Collins-Zaras of Cranberry Township; two sons, Kel Collins of Cranberry Township and Thomas “T.C.” Collins of McCandless; a brother, John Collins of West Virginia; and a grandson.
A brother preceded him in death.
COLLINS - Friends of George B. “Lee” Collins Jr., who died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Thorton, his church pastor, officiating. John W. Lewis
John W. Lewis, 82, of Richland Township and Winter Park, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001.
Born in Chester, W.Va., Sept. 5, 1919, he was the son of John W. and Blanche Leonard Lewis.
His wife, Mary Sokolsky Lewis, died March 4, 2001.
Surviving are a sister, Margaret Burtner of McKeesport, and nieces and nephews
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Jay Daniel Mohn Jr.
Jay Daniel Mohn Jr., 22, of 242 Spruce Road, Karns City, died of natural causes Saturday in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born Jan. 26, 1979, in Butler, he was the son of Jay D. Sr. and Denise Thompson Mohn.
He was a 1997 graduate of Karns City High School and earned an associate’s degree in electronics from ITT in Pittsburgh in 1999.
Mr. Mohn was a robot installation technician for McKesson Automated Healthcare Systems in Pittsburgh for two years and was working in Utah at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Karns City.
Surviving are his parents of Karns City; a sister, Angela E. Mohn, a student at Thiel College, Greenville; a brother, Bradley D. Mohn, a student at PTI, Pittsburgh; his maternal grandparents, Wilbert P. and Hazel Garner Thompson of Eau Claire; his paternal grandparents: Joseph D. Mohn of Chicora and Mrs. William (Rose) Smith of Butler; his maternal great-grandfather, Claude A. Garner of Winter Haven, Fla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Louis J. Scarpitti
Louis J. Scarpitti, 79, of Newport, N.C., formerly of Butler, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Bretthaven Nursing Home, Newport.
Born in Butler, March 20, 1922, he was the son of Frank and Jean Costanza Scarpitti.
He lived in the North Carolina area for 20 years and had been self employed before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Heichel Scarpitti; four sons, Louis, Ronald and Richard Scarpitti, all of Newport, and Billy Scarpitti of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. He also is survived by two brothers, Dr. Frank Scarpitti of Newark, Del., and Ronald Scarpitti of Middlesex, N.J.; and a sister, Mrs. Louis (Rita) Bournique of Butler.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services were private.
Anthony E. Selvaggio
Anthony E. Selvaggio, 78, of Hampton Township died Wednesday.
He was the son of Joseph and Maria Battaglia Selvaggio of Sicily.
Mr. Selvaggio owned and operated Fluffy Donuts, a Gibsonia-based wholesale baked goods company; and retired in 1998 from his wholesale coffee business. In 1976 he opened Amy Joy Donuts in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Sweden Roman Catholic Church in Wildwood, Hampton Township.
During World War II, he rebuilt a jute factory and served in the Army as an interpreter for Maj. Bradberry in Italy.
His wife, Lucia N. Faella Selvaggio, died Dec. 16, 1999.
He is survived by two sons, Anthony M. Selvaggio of St. Petersburg. Fla., and Joseph F. Selvaggio of Hampton Township; four daughters, Mrs. Maria Berzonski of Saxonburg, Dr. Adriana Selvaggio Heilbrunn of Fox Chapel, Ms. Micheala “Mimi” McDonald-Heard of Brooksville, Fla., and Mrs. Lucia Rosenberg of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
SELVAGGIO - Friends of Anthony E. Selvaggio, who died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at HERBERT KING FUNERAL HOME, 2841 Woodland Circle, Hampton Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Sweden Catholic Church, Wildwood. The Rev. Regis Farmer, church pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at North Side Catholic Cemetery , Ross Township.
Luncheons for friends and family will be held following the burial at the following places: St. Catherine of Sweden Catholic Church, Wildwood, until 1 p.m.; and at the home of Drs. Adriana Selvaggio and Steve Heilbrunn from noon to 8 p.m. Call the family for directions.
Jack A. Virgili
Jack A. Virgili, 86, of Butler died Wednesday at his home.
Born May 1, 1915, in Bridgeville, he was a son of Leonello and Anna DeVita Virgili.
He retired as a pipe fitter in 1980 and had worked out of Local 47 of the Pipe Fitters Union, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Virgili, who was inducted into the Butler Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1979, was a Golden Glove champion boxer and fought in the 1936 Olympic Trials.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Butler Serra Club.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie DeCecco Virgili, whom he married Sept. 25, 1936; a son, Raymond E. Virgili of Menlo Park, Calif.; four daughters, Jacqueline R. Knepshield of Chevy Chase, Md., Mrs. John (Phyllis) Kosar and Mrs. Mark (Mary Jo) Sylvia, both of Butler, and Carol J. Rosewag of Boyds, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Three half-sisters, Cecelia Haley of New Kensington, Dorothy Kowalski of Las Vegas, and Donna Terasi of Oakmont; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Two brothers, a sister and a grandson preceded him in death.
VIRGILI - Friends of Jack A. Virgili, who died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Center Avenue. The Rev. James Dolan, church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery .
Members of St. Michael Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home to conduct at vigil service.
Roy “Pappy” Ballew, Sr.
Roy Edward “Pappy” Ballew, Sr., 83, of Prospect died Friday afternoon at his home following an illness.
Born June 12, 1918, in Rockwood, he was the son of William and Ada Dywer Ballew.
He had worked for 27 years as a carman for the Bessemer Lake Erie Railroad.
He was a World War II Army veteran and was in the European Theater. He was a member of the VFW Post 249 of Butler, the Critchlow-Hays American Legion Post 417 of Prospect, and the Butler Moose 64.
He was a lifetime member of the Prospect Fire Department, where he was involved with the fire police. He was a member of AARP.
He also was a life-long farmer and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Suzanne) Osborne, Mrs. John (Kandance) Baer and Joyce Ballew, all of Prospect; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Corry of Conway, Beaver County; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Bankert Ballew, who died June 1, 1981, a son, two brothers, and a sister.
BALLEW - Friends of Roy Edward “Pappy” Ballew, Sr., who died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the EDWARD L. RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
