Mildred Elaine Bash, age 77 of Newfane, New York, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 5:00 a.m. in the Newfane Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 20, 1928 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Charles Bargerstock and the late Sarah Walls.
Mrs. Bash was a homemaker. She was a member of the Olcott United Methodist Church in Olcott, New York. She was formerly a member of Community Alliance Church in Butler. She had served on the Board Of Residents at the nursing center and also attended bible studies and church services at the center.
Mrs. Bash is survived by two daughters, Ilene Merchant and Elaine Amer both of Newark, New York, by two sons, Ronald Bash and Harold Bash both of Butler, Pennsylvania; by seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bash was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Bash who passed away on June 4, 1977, by one daughter, one brother and four adopted brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 30, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dennis L. Krajacic, pastor of Community Alliance Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
Charles D. Arndt
January 24, 1932 - April 27, 2005
Charles D. Arndt, age 73 of Springfield Court, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born January 24, 1932 in Wichita, Kansas he was the son of the late George N. Arndt and the late Ruby VanBuskirk.
Mr. Arndt was supervisor of avionics for Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas. He attended the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Arndt is survived by his wife, Naomi A. Adams Arndt whom he marriage on July 29, 1951, by one daughter, Dr. Sandra Beard and her husband Dr. Chris Beard of Mars, Pennsylvania; and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Arndt was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial services will be held at White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Lee Dreyer officiating.

Betty Lee Povlick Pfabe

Betty Lee Povlick Pfabe, age 69 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 6:13 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born September 6, 1935 in Wilmington, Delaware she was the daughter of the late John D. Povlick and the late Mary E. Fediaczko.
Mrs. Pfabe worked as a clerk in the Engineering department at Butler Armco, she also had been employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C., at the Family Drug Store and at Olan Mills Photography Studios in Butler. She was a member of St. John's Reformed Church. She loved planting and arranging flowers and babysitting her grandchildren. She was a former member of the Meridian Fife and Drum Corp.
Mrs. Pfabe is survived by her husband, Paul W. Pfabe whom she marriage on May 7, 1955, by two sons, Brian Pfabe of Butler, Pennsylvania, Chris Pfabe of Butler, Pennsylvania; by three daughters, Linda Miller of Chicora, Pennsylvania, Karen King of Butler, Pennsylvania, Sharon Shoaf of Evans City, Pennsylvania; by two brothers, William E. Povlick of Butler, Pennsylvania, John D. (Jack) Povlick, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; by four grandchildren, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on April 27, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Robert C. Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Shunila N. Ram
October 25, 1936 - April 18, 2005
Shunila N. Ram, age 68 of Belmont Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 18, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at her residence.
Born October 25, 1936 in Kachawa U.P., India she was the daughter of the late Reverend Paul Das and Theodora Luther.
Mrs. Ram was a kindergarten teacher for South Butler School District for 26 years. She was a member of Saint Andrew's United Presbyterian Church and the Asian Indian Christian Church, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Ram graduated from Isabella Thorburn College, Lucknow, India and received her Master's in Education from Slippery Rock University. She was active with her church as a deacon, and played in the bell and chancel choirs. She was on the Butler Symphony Board of Directors, played summer women's tennis. She enjoyed shopping, flower arranging, gardening, reading, music, painting, art, traveling, cooking and spending time with her three grandchildren. Mrs. Ram played the piano at her father's church beginning at the age of 13.
Mrs. Ram is survived by her husband, Denis G. Ram and by three daughters, Namrata Ram Andriessens and her husband Erik Andriessens of Brussels, Belgium, Sujata Ram and her husband Geoffrey Blate of Silver Spring, Maryland, Kavita and her husband Mike Meneely of Kaneohe, Hawaii; three grandchildren, Adrian Denis Andriessens, Serena Shunila Andriessens, and Tara Elizabeth Meneely; by one sister, Malti Massey; and by three nieces and three nephews.
Mrs. Ram was preceded in death by her father and one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at Saint Andrew's United Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Kate Filer from St. Andrew's and with Thinagar P. Sitther from the Asian Indian Christian Church, Pittsburgh officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.
The committal service will be held at the Cemetery on Friday, April 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.

Wade R. "Red" Noble

Wade R. "Red" Noble, age 50 of West Brady Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 18, 2005 at 7:30 a.m.
Born August 27, 1954 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Robert L. Noble and the late Mary Ann Robison.
Mr. Noble was self-employed. He attended Butler High School, graduating in 1972, and he graduated from Triangle Tech. Mr. Noble liked to help the under privileged in the Butler area, he also liked to write.
Mr. Noble is survived by one brother, Robert A. Noble of Grove City, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Susan E. Burtner of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Sandra E. Zacherl of Venus, Pennsylvania; and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend J. David Panther officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Merle N. Shearer
February 11, 1916 - April 16, 2005
Merle N. Shearer, age 89 of Negley Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 10:50 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born February 11, 1916 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Merle R. Shearer and the late Wilhelmina Herold.
Mr. Shearer worked in the stainless steel processing department at Armco for 26 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a member of Victory Lodge #694 F & AM, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle, Syria Temple, the Butler Shrine Luncheon Club, Armco Country Club, and he was a past Noble Grand of the Butler Odd Fellows club.
Mr. Shearer is survived by three sons, Merle N. Shearer, Jr. of Sarver, Pennsylvania, Jacob Jack Shearer of Richmond, Virginia, Glenn R. Shearer of Butler, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, nine Great-Grandchildren, one brother, Leroy Shearer of Butler, Pennsylvania and by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shearer was preceded in death by his wife, Marie R. Shearer whom he marriage on August 19, 1940; she passed away on May 15, 2003. He was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
