Carrie E. Fair, age 58 of Jamisonville Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 12:50 a.m. She was promoted to glory at Butler Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.
Born June 1, 1946 in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Kenneth R. Fair and the late Eva M. McClaine.
Miss Fair was a homemaker. She was very active with the Salvation Army. She was Home League Secretary, Sunday School teacher, worship chairman and worked at the After School program. She made gifts for local nursing homes. She loved working at the Open Door Feeding program at the Salvation Army. She received Volunteer of the Year award in 1990 and again in 2002 from the Salvation Army.
Miss Fair is survived by her companion, William "Dale" Mauthe of Butler, Pennsylvania; five sisters, Mrs. Martin (Mary) Mauthe of Hooker, Pennsylvania, Thressa A. Fair of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Linda D. Mauthe of Butler, Pennsylvania, Janice E. Fair of Butler, Pennsylvania, Nancy L. Fair of Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother, Kenneth Leroy Fair of Butler, Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews, and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Miss Fair was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Gloria Parker and Lucille Fair, two brothers Lewis W. and Donald L. Fair.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Major Ernest Keonomund, former commanding officer at the Salvation Army in Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Open Door Feeding Program or the After School Program, 313 West Cunningham Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Kenneth R. Craig, Jr.
November 10, 1939 - April 8, 2005
Kenneth R. Craig, Jr., age 65 of Carrabelle, Florida, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at 1:45 p.m. at his residence.
Born November 10, 1939 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Kenneth R. Craig, Sr. and Helen Johns.
Mr. Craig owned and operated the Craig Electronics on West Cunningham Street in Butler, he also had the Kis Photo Lab and Western Union office all at West Cunningham Street where he also repaired satellite dishes. He was a former member of the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Butler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Craig, Jr. is survived by his wife, H. Aline Fisher Craig and who he marriage on March 4, 1961, by one daughter, Karen D. Craig of Butler, Pennsylvania; three sons, Douglas K. Craig of Carrabelle, Florida, Robert L. Craig of Wolfeboro Falls, New Hampshire, Timothy A. Craig of Sopchoppy, Florida; eight grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Helen Craig of Butler, Pennsylvania; one sister, Mrs. Carol Schultz of Butler, Pennsylvania; two brothers, David Craig of Florida, Randall Craig of Murphysboro, Illinois and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Craig, Jr. was preceded in death by one son.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, April 14, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, April 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #249 of Butler.

Beatrice E. Powell
June 8, 1915 - April 7, 2005
Mrs. Beatrice E. Powell, age 89 of Rockdale Road, Butler, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 10:50 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Penn Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania on June 8, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Floyd B. Gould and Edna M. Phillips Gould.
Mrs. Powell was a homemaker, and a member of Thorncreek United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to dinner with her girlfriends at different restaurants and eating establishments. In her early years when her hands were more flexible she often crocheted.
She was marriage to Clarence Everett Powell, he preceded her in death on July 7, 1975.
She is survived by three sons, Richard E. Powell of Norwich, Connecticut, Robert D. Powell of Prospect, Pennsylvania, Gary G. Powell of Middlesex Township, one daughter, Mrs. Robert A. (Nancy C.) Hancheck of Butler, Pennsylvania, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mae Beck of Butler, Pennsylvania and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son.
Friends and family of Beatrice E. Powell will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Sunday, April 10, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, April 11, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Richard O. Feagin of Thorncreek United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Middlesex United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Nickolas T. "Nick" Zelepos
August 10, 1931 - April 7, 2005
Nickolas T. "Nick" Zelepos, age 73 of, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 12:00 noon in the Sunnyview Home.
Born August 10, 1931 in Mealapon Ikaria, Greece he was the son of the late Theofane Zelepos and the late Chrysa Tsmbitis Zelepos.
Mr. Zelepos was a painter for John E. Keffalas and Company. He was a member of Dormation of the Theotokas Greek Orthodox Church, Oakmont, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Sixty Plus at Tanglewood Senior Center and served in the Greek Army.
Mr. Zelepos is survived by his former wife, Artimas Morgain Zelepos of Butler, Pennsylvania; daughter, Chrysa Hortert of Butler, Pennsylvania; son-in-law, Brian Hortert of Butler, Pennsylvania; grand-daughter, Olivia Hortert of Butler, Pennsylvania; grandson, Benjamin Hortert of Butler, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Athena (Zelepos) Papathopoulos, Elizabeth (Zelepos) Poulos, Lambrini Niki (Zelepos) Geakoumis.
Mr. Zelepos was preceded in death by his two brothers, Constantine and Thomas Zelepos, by three nieces and six nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 8, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 9, 2005 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at the St. Anthony's Antiochian Orthodox Church, Pillow Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. with officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donation to the Tanglewood Senior Center Sixty Plus, 10 Austin Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Edgar W. "Ed" Swank
Deceased April 4, 2005
Edgar W. "Ed" Swank, of Woodridge Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Apollo, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Henry Edgar Swank and the late Bernice Hepler.
Mr. Swank was a lab technician for Witco Chemical in Petrolia, Pennsylvania retiring in 1991 after 41 years. He was a member of Christ Outreach Church. Mr. Swank was employed in real estate for about 15 years. He worked for Ed Shields Realtor and for Coldwell Banker Smith Realty. He was a member of National Rifle Association, AARP, Mora Club, American Legion #598 in Parker, Pennsylvania, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Syria Shriners -A.A.O.N.M.S. of Pittsburgh, Parker City-Allegheny Valley Lodge #521 F.&A.M. In his earlier years, Mr. Swank enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, woodworking and traveling.
Mr. Swank is survived by his wife Sandra Kay Griffiths Swank whom he marriage on February 16, 1981, by one son, Robert "Buzz" Swank of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Robin) Gnoth of Zelienople, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Lyndsey Kirstatter of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; one sister, Shirley Shay Abreu of Kissimmee, Florida; and by one niece, two nephews and several cousins.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Christ Outreach Church on Thursday, April 7, 2005 4:30 p.m. with Reverend Gary Sansom and Reverend David L. West officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugar Creek Township.

William "Bill" Calhoun
March 15, 1919 - April 3, 2005
William "Bill" Calhoun, age 86 formerly of Kennedy Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Butler V A Medical Center.
Born March 15, 1919 in Brockway, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Charles Calhoun and the late Olive Morrison.
Mr. Calhoun was a co-owner of Bordelle Ice Cream Sales in Mount Chestnut, retiring in 1984. He was formerly employed by Olsens Dairy and Country Belle Dairy in Butler. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Wesley Bible Class at his church. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II. He was also a life time member of the Joseph T. Black Post #249 of Butler, the U.C.T. and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Mr. Calhoun is survived by one son, Chuck and his wife Lou Calhoun of Florence, Texas; one daughter, Betty and her husband Tom Uber of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Michele Chiprean of Erie, Pennsylvania, Beth Wilbert of Fenelton, Pennsylvania, Wendy Calhoun of Florence, Texas, and Kelly Calhoun of Georgetown, Texas, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Marybelle Corbett of Clarion, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Bonnie Bell of Brockway, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Robert Calhoun of Brockway, Pennsylvania, Wayne Calhoun of Brockway, Pennsylvania; his extented family, Lorie and Gene Troyan and their sons Chad and Shane of Butler, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by his wife, Avanell K. (Nulph) Calhoun who passed away on August 25, 2004 and by a brother, Dwight Calhoun.
