Grace Mae "Grandma" Fisher, age 96 left her earthly body for her heavenly home on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 3:20 p.m. in the St. John's Specialty Care Center.
Born August 7, 1910 in Altoona, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Jess Landis and the late Bess Landis.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of Homeacre Chapel where her son Dr. David Fisher is pastor and where she was a secretary for a number of years.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her two sons and their wives, David and Zelma Fisher of Butler, Pennsylvania, Charles and Edna Fisher of Lake Whales, Florida; one daughter and her husband, Frances and Don Thornburg of Lady Lake, Florida; three sisters, Elizabeth Park of Cambridge, Ohio, Hattie Guyer of Columbus, Ohio, Margaret Toppen of Largo, Florida; fifteen Grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her husband whom she marriage on June 27, 1928; he preceded her to heaven on August 6, 1970.
Friends will be received at the Homeacre Chapel, 340 Whitestown Road, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 from 12 to 1 p.m.
Services will be held at the Homeacre Chapel on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with her son, Reverend David L. Fisher of Homeacre Chapel officiating and Reverend Timothy Boden assisting. Interment will follow in White Oak Springs Church Cemetery.

Earl W. Kaufman
October 25, 1921 - July 7, 2007
Earl W. Kaufman, age 85 of New Haven Court, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Brandon Road, Butler, Pennsylvania died Friday, July 27, 2007 at 8:50 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born October 25, 1921 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Ross Albert Kaufman and the late Nina Strickenburgh.
Mr. Kaufman was a conductor for Conrail for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving during WWII . Mr. Kaufman was protestant by faith and he was a passionate hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Kaufman is survived by his wife Dorothy Mae Yough Kaufman, by three sons, Lawrence Kaufman and his wife Susan of Beaver, Pennsylvania, William Kaufman of Freedom, Pennsylvania, and John Kaufman and his wife Kimberly of Freedom, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Rachuba of Unionville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Edward (Cathy) Spade of Rochester, Pennsylvania, Joni Piser of Edgewater, Florida; one step-daughter, Darlene Lehner of Grove City, Pennsylvania; and one step-son, Ronald Bowser of Butler, Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren, a number of step-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kaufman was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Kaufman in 1966, by one daughter, Leah, one sister, Emma, two brothers Buzz and Larry and by one step-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel of All Faiths Mausoleum at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Everett A. Filges
May 25, 1916 - July 25, 2007
Everett A. Filges, age 91, formerly of Oakland Township, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 2:20 a.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born May 25, 1916 in Butler County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of George and Ida Yost Filges.
Mr. Filges retired as a carpenter from the local carpenter's union. . He was also a farmer and heavy equipment operator and was well known for the many ponds he built in Butler County.
Mr. Filges was a life member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the East Butler Fireman's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and flying small airplanes. He especially enjoyed his dog, Baby.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis Filges and his fiancee, Marge Watterson of Chicora, Pennsylvania and David Filges of New Kent, Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Reeves of Chicora, Pennsylvania and Lois Bell and her friend, Joe McCrea of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren, Kevin Reeves, Karen Fencil, Kelli Rensel, Mark, Reeves, Gretchen St. Clair, Erin and Eric Dumbaugh, Brian, Christine, Ashley and Adam Filges and Alex Snyder, and twelve great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Barnhart of Cabot, Pennsylvania and by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Filges was preceded in death by his wife, Christena Strobel Filges who was deceased December 6, 2005, and by his daughter, Linda, and his son, Paul Everett.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden W. Towberman, his church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in South Cemetery.

Dorothy Rose Hoehn
September 3, 1929 - July 22, 2007
Dorothy Rose Hoehn, age 77, of Crestview Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at 7:50 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Born September 3, 1929, in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Wilson Watterson and the late Fannie Hutchinson.
Mrs. Hoehn had been a cashier for Loblaws for more than 20 years. She also worked in the packing department for Magnetics and retired after more than twenty years.
She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a longtime member of the Altar Guild and Communion Set-up Committee. She also was the co-secretary and treasurer and the attendance taker for the Sunday school.
Mrs. Hoehn is survived by her husband, Edgar Hoehn, whom she marriage on April 16, 1949, and by a son, Kenneth Hoehn of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren; two brothers, Loyal and Ronald Watterson both of Butler, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Doyle Watterson.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 from 7 to 9 and Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden W. Towberman, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Robert R. Dreher
April 29, 1920 - July 21, 2007
Robert R Dreher, age 87 of Kemper Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 12:45 a.m. at his residence.
Born April 29, 1920 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Ralph E. Dreher and the late Amelia Fend Dreher.
Mr. Dreher was a researcher for Allegheny Ludlum until his retirement in the early 1980's. He was a long-time member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, where he served on council as a deacon. Most recently he had attended of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Dreher enjoyed camping, bowling, playing cards, traveling, gardening, baking and most importantly his family and friends.
Mr. Dreher is survived by one son and his wife, John and Sherry Dreher of Emlenton, Pennsylvania; three grandsons, Benjamin Dreher and his wife Marni of Columbus, Ohio, Jonathan Dreher of Columbus, Ohio, Matthew Dreher of Emlenton, Pennsylvania; one great-granddaughter, Laken Dreher of Columbus, Ohio; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dreher was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia R. Adler Dreher who he marriage on September 7, 1941 and who passed away on September 24, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Judith who passed away in April of 2000, his brother Walter "Jake" Dreher who passed away in 1972 and his sister Opal Light.

Dorothy Evelyn Fisher, age 81 of Erie, Pennsylvania, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania died Friday, July 20, 2007 at 6:25 a.m. at her residence.
Born April 27, 1920 in Butler County she was the daughter of the late Wesley H. Burry and the late Hazel Gould.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of Meridian United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed quilting.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donald(Geraldine) Cheesebrough of Erie, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Aline Craig of Carrabelle, Florida; one son, Robert Fisher of Butler, Pennsylvania, two nephews and one cousins.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Norma Jean Fisher and by a grandson, Daniel Craig.
