Irene P. Kennedy, age 99, of Portersville, Pennsylvania, died Friday, October 12, 2007 at 5:23 p.m. in the Caring Place, Franklin, Pennsylvania.
Born February 7, 1908 in Guernsey, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ansel Foraker and the late Josephine McVicker Foraker.
Mrs. Kennedy retired as a canteen employee from the Butler Veterans Administration Medical Center. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler, Pennsylvania and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion #117 Butler, Pennsylvania and the A.A.R.P.
She is survived by her husband, Ray J. Kennedy, whom she marriage on November 4, 1950, and by two nephews, Eugene Thatcher of Belmont, Ohio, James Robert Thatcher of Franklin, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Willard Morse, a retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers the family of Irene P. Kennedy suggests memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
William R. Tebay
August 23, 1921 - October 7, 2007
William R. Tebay, age 86 of Surrey Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 6:50 a.m. in the Lowrie House.
Born August 23, 1921 in Eau Claire, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Paul J. Tebay and the late Mary Elizabeth Atkinson.
Mr. Tebay was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the VFW, the MORA Club and a former member of the Kiwanis. He served in the United States Navy as a fighter pilot in World War II. Mr. Tebay was a graduate of Slippery Rock College, served as a teacher and athletic coach before his employment at Armco Steel, Castle Rubber and Polymer Enterprises of Indiana, Pennsylvania. Mr. Tebay was a life-long sportsman who played football at Slippery Rock College and the United States Navy. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting grouse in the areas of his early youth.
Mr. Tebay is survived by his second wife, Margy Heasley Hoffman-Tebay, whom he marriage on April 21, 2001, by two sons, James Tebay of Asheville, North Carolina, and Scott Tebay of Atlanta, Georgia; by his sister, Nancy Gustafson of Crittendon, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jonathan Tebay of Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Jennifer Tebay of Atlanta, Georgia, Jeffrey Tebay of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Benjamin Tebay of Cary, North Carolina, by three step-children, C.F. Hoffman of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, William Hoffman of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Roger Hoffman of Worthington, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Tebay was preceded in death by his first wife Gayle Lois Marble Tebay who passed away on April 15, 1998; they were marriage on November 27, 1945 and also by his brother Paul.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 4 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Merry Hope Meloy of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church and C.F. Hoffman of the First United Presbyterian Church of Darlington and the Galilean Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Ann Hahn

Ann Hahn, age 98 of Sunnyview Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Second Street, Butler, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 2:35 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born July 10, 1909 in County Durham, England she was the daughter of the late Richard Reed and the late Elizabeth Rockett.
Mrs. Hahn was a Homemaker for none. She was protestant by faith.
Mrs. Hahn is survived by her son and his wife, Albert and Kathy Hahn, Jr. of East Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, and one niece.
Mrs. Hahn was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Charles Hahn who passed away on July 28, 1956 and also by one granddaughter and one brother.
There was no public visitation and private services were held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. Interment followed in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
Peter J. Santypal
January 12, 1925 - October 2, 2007
Peter J. Santypal, age 82 of Abilene Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Middlesex Township and Mars, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 12:29 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Sandy Swierk of Valencia, Pennsylvania.
Born January 12, 1925 in Evans City, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Joseph Santypal and the late Mary Ann Milatich.
Mr. Santypal was a retired heavy equipment mechanic out of Operating Engineer Local #66 in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He attended White Oak Spring Presbyterian Church. Mr. Santypal was a U.S. veteran in the Navy serving in WW II. He was a member of the American Legion #778 of Lyndora.
Mr. Santypal is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sandy L. and Aleck "I. I." Swierk, Linda K. and Ronald Mathews of all Valencia, Pennsylvania; two step-sons, Earl Kull, Richard (Dick) and his wife Shirley Kull all of Cuyahoga, Ohio; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jodi and Bill Beggan of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, Melissa and Rich Bitzer of Valencia, Pennsylvania; one grandson and his wife, Ronald and Katie Mathews of Atlanta, Georgia; six step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Santypal was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace Swierk Santypal who passed away on August 26, 2005 and also by four sisters and eight brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 5, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Lee Dreyer of White Oaks Springs Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Officers and members of the V.F.W., Chapter #249 and the American Legion, #778 will conduct military graveside services.
Ronald Paul Wimer
February 16, 1966 - September 30, 2007
Ronald Paul Wimer, age 41 of Conrad Lane, Sarver, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 due to an automobile accident.
Born February 16, 1966 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Wimer was a machinist for General Electric. He was a 1984 graduate of Freeport High School. Mr. Wimer was a member of Member of Frontier Harvest Ministries, a former member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, and a member of the North Buffalo Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Above all else, Ron was a loving husband and father. His family and spending time with them was always his number one priority.
Mr. Wimer is survived by his wife, Dawn Conrad Wimer whom he marriage on May 2, 1989, by three sons, Levi, Ethan and Caleb Wimer all at home; by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Wanda Conrad of Sarver, Pennsylvania; and by his Foster Family, the Brady Family.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Carol J. Gyger

Carol J. Gyger, age 64 of Saxonburg Road, Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 8:24 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born February 27, 1943 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Lewis M. Andrews and the late Mary E. Montgomery.
Mrs. Gyger was a homemaker and she retired from Sears Catalog Department in 1997. She was a member of Clinton United Presbyterian Church and enjoyed antique collecting and her hobbies.
Mrs. Gyger is survived by her husband, John J. Gyger whom she marriage on June 14, 1963, her son, Jay J. Gyger of Saxonburg; brother, William Andrews of Fenelton; two sisters, Donna Roxbury of Butler, Tracy Andrews of Saxonburg; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Louis Emory Shields
February 17, 1921 - September 19, 2007
Louis Emory Shields passed on to heaven at 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2007. He was born on February 17, 1921 to Floy Jane Violet Kinter Shields and Claude Devere Shields in Butler, Pennsylvania.
In his young life he enjoyed hunting, fishing and roller-skating. He did well in school and played football with a Butler team the "RAMS"; his nickname was "Kelly". Louis was baptized at the North Street Christian Church.
Lou joined the United States Marine Corp on the 16th of July, 1942. He served in the Pacific Theater until the end of WW II when he was honorably discharged.
He met Jean Elizabeth French on a base in Oklahoma, as she was also a US Marine. Jean hailed from Detroit, Michigan. They were marriage on January 19, 1946 and made their home in Prospect, Pennsylvania.
Lou worked at Armco Steel in Butler for many years. When retired he kept busy hunting, fishing, woodcarving and caring for his home and family.
Mr. Shields is survived by his wife, Jean Shields, his son, Gary Louis Shields; two daughters, Robin Shields Matthews, and Dawn Shields Cratty and her husband Gordon Cratty, four Grandchildren, five Great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Ella Miller and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shields was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Floy Shields and by his sister Marian Shields Prigg.
