Anna Marie MacKinney, age 91 of Newhaven Court, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 11:30 p.m. in New Haven Court.
Born January 29, 1916 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Mont Mercer MacKinney and the late Anna Marie Beck MacKinney.
Miss MacKinney was a teacher at Emily Britton Elementary School. She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church, a member of the Eastern Star-Butler Chapter and a benefactor of the Butler Public Library. Miss MacKinney enjoyed traveling and reading.
Miss MacKinney is survived by her two sisters, Jean Alice MacKinney and Sarah Root, eight nephews, John J. MacKinney, Jr. of Thomasville, Georgia, Norm Herz of Littleton, Colorado, Paul Herz of Dallas, Texas, Scott Herz of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Jake Root of Tucson, Arizona, Bob Moore of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Mont MacKinney of Butler, Pennsylvania, George MacKinney of Butler, Pennsylvania; five nieces, Sally Butler of Tucson, Arizona, Pat Farrell of Lombard, Illinois, Karen Adami of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, Madeline Hughes of Mount Holly, New Jersey, Sara Mehagan of Montpelier, Vermont; one great-nephew, Roy Gruenburg of Warren, Michigan; two great-nieces, Dawn Gruenburg of Warren, Michigan, Gail Gruenburg of Chesterfield, Michigan.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Butler Public Library, 218 North McKean Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Agnes M. Hasson
May 27, 1925 - September 18, 2007
Agnes M. Hasson, age 82 of Westwood Manor, Butler, Pennsylvania, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 7:00 a.m. at her residence.
Born May 27, 1925 in Coalport, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Joseph Feigh and the late Catherine Schiffhauer Feigh.
Mrs. Hasson was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Hasson was a member of St. Paul's Guild and Christian Mothers and a volunteer at the Cherry Tree at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hasson is survived by her husband, Edwin Hasson whom she marriage on May 25, 1947; her daughter, Mrs. Kara Maxwell and her husband Bobby of Volant, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Brittany and Kelli; one brother, Richard Feigh; one sister, Dorothy Lombardo; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m.
A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will Be held privately at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on with Father Victor Kriley officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to her church, St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Lois L. Whitesell
April 14, 1923 - September 17, 2007
Lois L. Whitesell, age 84 of Meridian Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, September 17, 2007 at 5:00 am at her residence after a brief illness.
Born April 14, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Samuel Whitesell and the late Vera B. Long.
Miss Whitesell was an employment interviewer for Pennsylvania Bureau of Employment Security retiring on May 15, 1983. Previously she had worked as a proofreader for the Butler Eagle. Miss Whitesell was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a member of the PA Association of Retired State Employees and the Crimson Chapeau Cuties Red Hat Society. She was a life member of the Tanglewood Senior Center, founder and member of the Butler County Humane society, founder and former member of the Butler Cat Fanciers, Inc. and a former member of the Meridian Area Retirees Club. Miss Whitesell's other interests were cats, music boxes and traveling.
Miss Whitesell is survived by two nieces, Linda Nemeth and her husband Douglas of Butler, Pennsylvania, Terry L. Whitesell of Butler, Pennsylvania; two nephews, Robert Bekish of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tom Whitesell and his wife Patty of Butler, Pennsylvania; eight great-nieces and nephews, and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
Miss Whitesell was preceded in death by one sister, F. Evelyn Bekish, and two brothers, Robert C. Whitesell and J. Ralph Whitesell.
There will be no public visitation.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 12:15 p.m. with Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Christian School Library, 221 West New Castle Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 or to the Hospice Program of the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Muriel L. Thompson
January 31, 1915 - September 11, 2007
Muriel L. Thompson, age 92 of Marwood Road, Concordia Haven, Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of Aspen Road, Butler, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Born January 31, 1915 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Harry J. Taylor and the late Maude Hurst.
Mrs. Thompson was a schoolteacher for Port Vue Borough. She was a member of Covenant United Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school, served as an elder and a deacon and she was a member of the Presbytery Women's Organization.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Harry (Jean) Taylor of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Howard (Elizabeth) Javens of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; five nieces, Jill Sye, Lynn Stump, Ruth Greenawalt, Beverly Thompson, Esta Mae Stafford; four nephews, Kenneth Shotwell, James Taylor, Jack Taylor, Dennis Javens; and by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Thompson whom she marriage on June 15, 1940 he passed away on July 1, 2000, also by two brothers and one sister.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 14, 2007 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Chapel of Devotion, Butler County Memorial Park.
In addition, a memorial Service will be held at Concordia Haven II at the convenience of the family.
Arliene M. Frazier
November 16, 1908 - September 1, 2007
Arliene M. Frazier, age 98 of the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10:06 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born November 16, 1908 in Warren, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Fred Gafner and Margaret Maeder Gafner.
Mrs. Frazier was marriage to the Reverend Roy L. Frazier who preceded her in death on September 16, 1988. Mrs. Frazier was a homemaker and a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Warren, Pennsylvania. She was a gifted church soloist and also served as choir director and church educator. Mrs. Frazier was a member of the Emanuel Club, and was a quilter and quilt designer. She was very creative in the culinary area and always had room for one more at her table. She was one of the first licensed beauticians in the state of Pennsylvania, becoming licensed in the late 1930's.
She is survived by two sons, Bradoak R. Frazier and his wife Judy of High Point, North Carolina and Roy DuPree Frazier and his wife Peggy of Butler, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Laurel Frazier Shimek of Sarver, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren: Joshua D. Frazier, the Reverend Nathan M. Frazier, Marcy Frazier Mather and Lori Frazier Taylor, five great-grandchildren: Joseph Mather, Jacob Mather, Mia Taylor, Dillon Taylor, and Adeline Frazier.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial services for Arliene M. Frazier will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. in The Emanuel United Church of Christ in Warren, Pennsylvania with the Reverend Neil Seifert of Emanuel United Church of Christ officiating.

Mario Marricco
November 13, 1938 - November 24, 2007
Mario Marricco, age 69, of Butler, Pennsylvania died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 2:50 a.m. in the U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylania.
Born November 13, 1938 in Salavacava, Italy, he was the son of the late Luciano and Pasqualina Marricco.
Mr. Marricco was owner of Winky's Restaurant, Jolly Roger Drive-In, and several Mister Donuts and Dunkin Donuts.
He was an avid accordion player, stained glass artist, author and entrepreneur. He enjoyed showing antique jaguars, as well as landscaping, gardening and traveling.
Mr. Marricco is survived by his wife, Mitzi Todorich Marricco of 46 years; one daughter, Eleanor Christopher and her husband, James, of Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania; one brother, John Marricco and his wife, Audrey, of Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Vincie Piccolino and her husband, Alex, of Murrysville, Pennsylvania and Lena Piccolino and her husband, Anthony, of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; number of nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 7 to 9 and Monday, November 26, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Dennis W. Molnar, of Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church (USA), officiating.
Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, East McKeesport, Pennsylvania .
