James F. Farrell, age 93 of Dunn Street, Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 6:10 p.m. in the Butler V A Medical Center.
Born December 21, 1913 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late James Martin Farrell and the late Rhoda Rowley.
Mr. Farrell was a self-employed auctioneer.
Mr. Farrell was preceded in death by his wife Clara Farrell.
There will be no public visitation or service. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
Edwin "Eddie/Ed" Goodhart, Jr.
December 20, 1950 - November 14, 2007
Edwin "Eddie/Ed" Goodhart, Jr., age 56 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 10:15 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 20, 1950 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Edwin Goodhart, Sr. and the late Helen Frye Goodhart.
A graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, he served in the Army National Guard, Air Force and Army where he was a warrant officer at his time of his discharge. He was a Black Hawk Helicopter pilot and served in the United States and Central America. Mr. Goodhart worked in the maintenance department at St.Barnabas Health System. He was formerly employed by PAC Industries repairing industrial laundry equipment. He enjoyed computers, helicopters, old cars, tractors, and old movies. He was known for his quick wit and his sense of humor.
Mr. Goodhart, Jr. is survived by his fiance, Betsy Spiece Rogers; two sons, Blue Williams of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and Shane Corica of Monessen; Pennsylvania, a daughter, Piper Williams of Texas; a sister, Denise and her husband, Pete Konter of Florida; his favorite cat, Wicket; a granddaughter, Isabella Corica; a niece; and he was like a brother to Linda and her husband, David "Leo" Burgoon, Scott and his wife, Diane Spiece and William "Bill" and his wife, Phylis Spiece all of Butler, Pennsylvania.
He also is survived by Betsy Spiece Rogers' children, Matthew Rogers of Savannah, Georgia, Eric Rogers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sara and her husband, Bryan Griest of Butler, Pennsylvania and by a granddaughter, Paige Griest.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 7 to 9 and Sunday November 18, 2007 from 2 to 4.
Funeral services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Dennis L. Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Cathy J. Miller

Cathy J. Miller, age 59 of Vogel Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at her home.
Born July 7, 1948 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Jay E. Cadwallader and the late Mary E. Thompson Cadwallader.
Mrs. Miller was an English Teacher for Butler Senior High School for thirty-five years, retiring in 2005. She was a graduate of Butler High School and Slippery Rock University where she received a Bachelors of English for Secondary Education, a Bachelors of Reading for Secondary Education, and a Masters in Education. Mrs. Miller was a member of Oak Hills Christian Church. Mrs. Miller loved quilting and traveling. She was a Cherry Tree volunteer, and a member of the First United Methodist Quilters, the PSEA, and the PASR.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, David L. Miller whom she marriage on July 18, 1970, by one son, Kyle Miller and his wife April of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Kristen Miller of Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother Jay (Edward) Cadwallader, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; four nephews, Jason Miller of Butler, Joshua Miller of Butler, Jay E. Cadwallader, III of Pittsburgh, and Benjamin Cadwallader of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by one son K.C. (Kern) Miller.

Sara Lynn Schaffer Seekings, age 31 of Hansen Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, November 12, 2007 at 1:25 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 21, 1976 in Bosie, Idaho she was the daughter of Thomas Waldraff and Cindy Schaffer Strauser.
She was a homemaker. Sara enjoyed studying monarch butterflies, camping and spending time with her two girls.
Sara is survived by her her husband, Ronald D. Dukes and by two daughters, Samantha Seekings, and Aleasha Dukes both at home; four brothers, David Schaffer of Dunkirk, New York, Christopher Strausser of Butler, Pennsylvania, Johnathan Strausser of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Jacob Patterson of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
Sara was preceded in death by her twin brother.

David C. Dietrich
October 11, 1924 - November 10, 2007
David C. Dietrich, age 83 of McCandless Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 11:10 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born October 11, 1924 in Allegheny County on the family farm, he was the son of the late Charles Dietrich and the late Martha Keck Dietrich.
Mr. Dietrich retired from maintenance department of North Pittsburgh Telephone, prior to that he was employed by PennDot and earlier had worked on the farm for many years. He was protestant by faith. He enjoyed farming, hunting, gardening, his family and his grandchildren.
Mr. Dietrich is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hall and her husband Jeffrey, and Amy Blair and her husband Paul Henry Blair, II both of Butler, Pennsylvania, two grand-daughters, Joyce Ellen Blair and Annabelle Louise Blair; four grandsons, Paul Henry Blair, III, Daniel Garris Blair, David Calvin Blair, and Jeffrey Hall Jr., by one sister, Mrs. Wilbert (Louise) Mowry, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dietrich was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ellen Garris on September 13, 1992 and also by two brothers.

Lois Mildred Gray

Lois Mildred Gray, age 89 of Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Buffalo, New York died Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11:20 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 11, 1918 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Reverend Roland M. Gray, Sr. and the late Arletta B. Horton Gray.
Miss Gray was in the clerical department for National Fuel, Buffalo, New York until her retirement in 1982. She has resided in Butler ever since. She attended Community Alliance Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Society.
Miss Gray is survived by one sister, Mrs. Arletta "Betty" Koch of Scotia, New York; eight nieces and nephews, and by a number of great-nieces and nephews.
Miss Gray was preceded in death by her two brothers, Reverend Charles Horton Gray and Reverend Roland Malvern Gray, Jr. and by her two sisters, Mary Kathryn Gray and Marjorie Ann Gray Barbour.
