Joseph W. Kissell, age 85, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 7:20 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born January 8, 1922 in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Dudgeon Kissell.
Mr. Kissell attended the Community Alliance Church. He was a school principal for the McKeesport School District and retired in 1986.
Mr Kissell was a veteran of the United States Army in WWII. He was a life member of National Education Association (NEA) and the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA). He received his Bachelors of Science Degree at Nyack College in New York and his Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Kissell is survived by wife, Grace E. Miller Kissell, whom he marriage on November 24, 1962; one son, Joseph W. and his wife, Morgen. of Paris, France; one daughter, Darlene Dickey of St. Marys, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Benaiah, Emily, Zachery, and Nathan; one brother, William and his wife, Clarabelle Kissell of Monaca, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Gail Kissell of McKeesport, Pennsylvania and Patricia Kissell of Nampa, Idaho and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kissell was preceded in death by one infant sister.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, December 23, 2007 from 12 Noon to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, December 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend David Volstad, associate pastor of the Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh and Reverend Dennis Krajacic, pastor of Community Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Alliance Church building fund, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Stella E. Watterson

Stella E. Watterson, age 91, of South Main Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 8:45 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 24, 1915 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Wissman and the late Caroline (Carrie) Steinheiser.
Mrs. Watterson was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrew's United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Watterson is survived by one son, Rodney K Watterson and his wife Susan of Hampton, New Hampshire; four grandchildren: Jody, Natalie, Gregory and Tracey, eight great grandchildren, one sister, Marie L. Wissman of Butler, Pennsylvania and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Watterson who passed away on November 4, 1984 and by one brother, Robert Wissman.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Services will be held at the St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Merry H. Meloy, pastor of her church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Edna A. Allam

Edna A. Allam, age 95, of Sunnyview Nursing Home, formerly of Melheim Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 7:05 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home, Butler, Pennsylvania.
Born August 21, 1912 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William C. McDowell and the late Gertrude Oesterling McDowell.
Mrs. Allam was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Allam was formerly a volunteer at the Butler Memorial Hospital with the American Red Cross. She enjoyed playing cards.
Mrs. Allam is survived by her son, William E. Rickard of Fredonia, New York; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Kelly of Butler, Pennsylvania and Mrs. O. G. (Nancy) McMillin of Sharpsburg, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, number of great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Thomas (Bunny) Carlson of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Allam was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward S. Rickard who passed away in 1970, by her second husband, Alfred Allam who passed away in 1979 and also by two sisters and four brothers.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Glenn D. Dimit

Glenn D. Dimit, age 77 of Autumn Grove Care Center, Harrisville, Pennsylvania, formerly of Brewster Road, died Monday, December 17, 2007 at 12:00 a.m. in the Autumn Grove Nursing Center.
Born March 29, 1930 in Center Township, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Raymond M. Dimit and the late Bernice M. Patten.
Mr. Dimit was retired from the melt shop Armco Steel. He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Dimit was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #249.
Mr. Dimit is survived by his son and his wife, Scott and Sandy Dimit of Butler, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Lori J. Cockroft of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dimit was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Lou Cassel Dimit who passed away on December 12, 1972 and also by one sister and one brother.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Tim Bupp of Grace @ Calvary Church officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Officers and members of the V.F.W. Post #249 and American Legion Post #778 will conduct military honors at the Cemetery.

Daniel R. Carson, age 47 of Stark Road, Sarver, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at his residence.
Born January 15, 1960 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of Brian Buechel and Catherine Dunn Carson.
Mr. Carson was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mr. Carson is survived by his mother, Catherine Carson of Sarver, Pennsylvania; his sister and her husband, Sherri and Albert Neff; nieces, Mindy and Taylar Neff; nephew, Jeremy Neff; and by two aunts and one uncle.

John Lynwood Broad

John Lynwood Broad, age 57 of Beulah Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at his home.
Born December 24, 1949 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John Ralph Broad and Patricia Mae Shields Broad.
Mr. Broad was the Clinical Director of Adult Outpatient and Triage for Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, The Oakland Township Planning Commission, and the Hilltop Society of The Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Center. He was a graduate of Knoch High School, he attended Butler Community College, Grove City College, and Slippery Rock College, graduating with an Associates Degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling and Education. Mr. Broad was a veteran of the United States Army serving in West Berlin, Germany during The Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, logging, watching football and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Broad is survived by his wife, Sharla Mae Schrader Broad, whom he marriage on August 11, 1990, by two sons, John Thomas (J.T.) Broad, Joshua Ryan Broad, both at home; by his mother Patricia Mae Shields Broad of Butler, one sister, Marjorie Elaine Broad of Butler, five nieces, Christen A. Broad of Butler, Emily N. Broad of Butler, Melissa A. Merckle of Butler, Mrs. Alisha M. Perkins of Sterling, Ohio, Rachael L. Schrader of Evergreen, Colorado; by three nephews, Michael T. Schrader II of Evergreen, Colorado, Adam M. Schrader of Evergreen, Colorado, W. Andrew Hellyer of Chillicothe, Ohio; by his mother and father-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Schrader of Chillicothe, Ohio; his sister In-law, Mrs. S. Dianne Broad of Butler, his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Hellyer of Chillicothe, Ohio; his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Merckle of Sterling, Ohio, his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schrader of Evergreen, Colorado; two men who were like brothers, his uncle, Keith Shields of Butler, and his friend, Rodger Kelly of Sarver.
Mr. Broad was preceded in death by his father John Ralph Broad and one brother Thomas Eric Broad.
