Margaret Ellen Armitage, lovingly called Mrs. "A", 82 of Margate Drive, Butler, died Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 9:50 a.m. in Concordia Lutheran Care.
Born May 10, 1921 in Spartansburg, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Paul McCray and Nellie Jerome.
Mrs. Armitage was marriage to the late Reverend R. Cassius Armitage on March 22, 1941. He died June 9. 1979. They came to Butler in 1961 to minister in the Alliance Church where they faithfully served for 18 years. They served at Mercer Street Christian and Missionary Alliance, Main Street Christian and Missionary Alliance and Community Alliance Churches. Mrs. A., had been an active member of her church. She served as a Secretary at the YWCA in the Senior Aging Program for over 12 years.
Mrs. Armitage is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Phil (Joyce) Renicks of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Beverly Fenstermaker of Butler, Mrs. Mike (Deborah) Solari of Butler, two sons, Ronald C. Armitage of Butler, Dale A. and his wife Connie Armitage of Cecil, PA, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Armitage was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Cassius Armitage, a daughter Carol, a sister and a brother.
Family and friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral on Saturday, March 13, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, March 14, 2004 from noon to 4:00 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church, on Monday, March 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis Krajacic, from Community Alliance Church, Butler, the Reverend Rockwell Dillaman, of Allegheny Christian and Missionary Alliance, Pittsburgh and Reverend Clarence Crosscutt, of Washington Christian and Missionary Alliance, Washington, Pennsylvania officiating. Interment will follow in East Branch Cemetery in Warren County.

Leola Mae McKain
July 23, 1927 - March 9, 2004
Leola Mae McKain, 76 of Brown Avenue, Butler, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 6:15 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 23, 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Clarence William Tirk and Alice Jane Farmer.
She was a homemaker and she also worked at Pullman Standard Co. for 20 years. She was a member of Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Mrs. McKain is survived by 2 sons, Joseph Henry McKain, III of Cabot, Pennsylvania, James Richard McKain, two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Judith Ann) Flick, Mrs. Janice E. Ross all of Butler, Pennsylvania, eight Grandchildren and sixteen Great-Grandchildren, three step-Grandchildren and two Step-Great-Grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Dolores J. Huselton of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Patricia Hackett of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McKain was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Henry McKain, who passed away on December 18, 1990 and by one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Thursday, March 11, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, March 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Robert B. Gallagher
February 23, 1922 - March 8, 2004
Robert B. Gallagher, 82 of Federal Street, Butler, died Monday, March 8, 2004 at 12 noon at his residence.
Born February 23, 1922 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Bernard Gallagher.
He worked as a carpenter for the Pittsburgh Carpenters Union. He was Lutheran by faith. Mr. Gallagher was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he received the American Defense Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and also received the Purple Heart Medal.
Mr. Gallagher is survived by one son, Robert B. Gallagher II of Frankville, Wisconsin, one daughter, Joan C. Hostetler of Cabot, Pennsylvania, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gallagher was preceded in death by one brother.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Ella Myers Bordeaux, 89 formerly of Freeport Road, Butler, died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 12:55 p.m. in Passavant Retirement Center.
Born January 6, 1915 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James Myers and Ella Aldinger.
Mrs. Bordeaux was a homemaker. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Adult Sunday School of her church. She had be a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and a 4-H leader.
Mrs. Bordeaux is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward M. (Yvonne) Coleman of Hopewell, Virginia, Mrs. Charles D. (Darlene) Reichenbach of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and by four nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bordeaux is preceded in death by her husband Rowland D. "Bud" Bordeaux, who passed away on March 19, 1984 and by two brothers and one grandson.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Sunday, June 6, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the First English Lutheran Church, Monday, June 7, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend James W. Dolhopf officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Gertrude S. Barto, 93 formerly of West Muntz Avenue, Butler, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 3:50 p.m. at McPherson's Owl's Landing Personal Care Home, Fenelton.
Born June 10, 1910 in Butler City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James Salisbury and Alice G. LeFever.
Mrs. Barto worked for Leedom and Worrell in Butler before retiring and becoming a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Butler Chapter #45 Order of Eastern Star for 50 years. She was a former member of the White Shrine, Women's Club of Butler, past Mother advisor to Butler Chapter Rainbow Girls, former member of Butler Business and Professional Women's Club, former member of the Nike Club and former member of the Republican Women.
Mrs. Barto is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Mary Alice) Gladis of Jonesboro, Georgia, one son, James A. Barto of Butler, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, one great-grandson, four nieces and four nephews.
Mrs. Barto is preceded in death by her husband H. Leroy Barto, who passed away on November 9, 1995, by one infant, three brothers, one sister, and one nephew.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Officers and members of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #45, will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. to conduct a memorial service.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend J. David Panther officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
Polly Glover Toth

Polly Glover Toth, 83 of Masonic Drive, Sewickley, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 11:05 p.m. at Valley Care Masonic Center.
Born July 30, 1920 in Degan, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Timothy Glover, II and Minnie Rider.
Mrs. Toth was the manager for King's Jewelry in Butler for 10 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She was a member of Maqueda Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, No. 421 for 55 years.
Mrs. Toth is survived by two brothers, Timothy Glover, III of Butler, Pennsylvania, Edward C. Glover of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, and seventeen nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Toth marriage Laszlo Toth on July 20, 1985 he preceded her in death on May 28, 1995.
Private graveside services will be held on, Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Bruce Geary officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
