Margaret Ann Maharg, age 83 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 11:58 a.m. in the Saxony Health Center.
Born March 24, 1924 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Eugene S. Schaffner, Sr. and the late Bernadette C. Turner Schaffner.
Mrs. Maharg was a homemaker as well as a secretary for Boy Scouts of America and for the Maharg Insurance Agency. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Maharg was a member of the C.D. of A. and avid bridge club player.
Mrs. Maharg is survived by her husband, Mark B. Maharg, whom she marriage on February 27, 1946, by five sons, Dennis L. and Beverly Maharg of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Mark Brian Maharg of Butler, Pennsylvania, Gary Wayne Maharg of Millersville, Pennsylvania, Dale Edward Maharg of Conestoga, Pennsylvania, Eric B. and Candace Maharg of Butler, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Karen M. and John Feather of Morgantown, West Virginia, Diane C. and Jeff Kennedy of Butler, Pennsylvania, Beverly J. and Jeff Himm of Chantilly, Virginia; seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. John (Bernadette) Keener of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Jerry (Jane Francis) Silverman of Greenville, South Carolina and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Maharg was preceded in death by one brother and one great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Blessing services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.

Margaret "Peg" E. Stover

Margaret "Peg" E. Stover, age 82 of Williams Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 5:30 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born November 8, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Charles Warren and the late Ruth M. Greenawalt Warren Woolever.
Mrs. Stover was a cashier for 16 1/2 years for Kroger, Friedman's, and Loblaws. She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church. Mrs. Stover bowled for "Space" Bowling League.
Mrs. Stover is survived by one aunt, Mrs. William (Betty) Hilliard of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sister-in-laws, two nieces, and four nephews.
Mrs. Stover was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron M. "Smokey" Stover and who passed away on October 23, 1985 and also by her mother and father, step-father, James F. Woolever, two sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law.
Services will be held at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with retired minister, Reverend Cloyd Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Dorothy L. "Dottie" Weston, age 67 of East Brady Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 7:00 a.m. in her home.
Born June 19, 1940 in Kane, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late John Edward Carlson and Geraldine Ordiway.
Mrs. Weston was a homemaker and she also had worked at the Gulf gasoline station, Pappan's Family Restaurant and was also an in-home childcare provider. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and being with her family.
Mrs. Weston is survived by her husband, Samuel Weston whom she marriage on September 7, 1957, by her mother Geraldine Ordiway Carlson of Kane, Pennsylvania, two sons, Jon Paul Weston and his wife Barb of Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, Samuel Wayne Weston and his wife Joyce of Butler, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Jacqueline Suzanne Weston Puchnick and her husband David of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, Peggy Ann Weston of Butler, Pennsylvania; five grandsons, Steven Weston, North Carolina, Brandon Weston of Butler, Pennsylvania, Samuel Weston of Butler, Pennsylvania, Matthew Puchnick of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, Luke Puchnick of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; two grand-daughters, Stephanie Weston of Butler, Pennsylvania, Paige Leech of Butler, Pennsylvania; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Weston, North Carolina; one brother, John V. Carlson of Hernando, Florida; an by a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the First English Lutheran Church 241 North Main St., Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorial services will be held at the First English Lutheran Church on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. with Reverend James W. Dollhopf of First English Lutheran Church officiating.
Mary E. Barr

Mary E. Barr, age 88 of Quarrymen Terrace, Brookeville, Maryland, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 9:45 a.m. in the Brooke Grove Rehab and Nursing Home, Brookeville, Maryland.
Born March 21, 1919 in West Sunbury, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Earl Young and the late Evelyn Dann.
Mrs. Barr was a retired librarian for Butler County Community College from 1969 until 1982. Mrs. Barr graduated from Butler High School, graduated from Capital University with a degree in teaching and from Western Reserve with a master's degree in library science. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Barr was a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Assoc., Beta Sigma Phi, Maqueda Chapter #421 OES and she was an avid Bridge player.
Mrs. Barr is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Diamond ; two step-sons, Jennings Barr, II, Carl T. Barr; three grandchildren, Tyler Diamond, Kayleigh Diamond, and Alexis Diamond; several step-grandchildren, and several step great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings B. Barr whom she marriage on November 27, 1957 and who passed away on June 22, 1991.

Joseph W. Lohner

Joseph W. Lohner, age 87, of Shanor Heights, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at 8:33 a.m. in the emergency room of the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Wednesday, April 14, 1920 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Lohner and the late Mary Capos.
Mr. Lohner was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked in the locomotive shop at Butler Armco and retired in 1981, after thirty-four years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.
Mr. Lohner is survived by his, Janet Schenck Lohner whom he marriage on December 30, 1942; one son, James J. Lohner and his wife, Elizabeth, of Huntsville, Virginia; one daughter, Marcella L. Marcussen and her husband, Victor, of Pearisburg, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Georgia J. Lohner of Butler, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Kimberly Hicks and her husband, Robin, Aimee Lohner, and Katherine Stinnett and her husband, Jason; one brother, William J. Lohner and his wife, Jeanette of Cincinnati, Ohio, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lohner was preceded in death by his son, Daniel S. Lohner and one grandson.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 from 6 to 9.
Services will be held at the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. C. Gerald Huhn officiating. Interment will follow in South Cemetery.

Ruth Elaine Cupp

Ruth Elaine Cupp, age 84, of Ifft Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. in her home.
Born January 30, 1923 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late George Harold Krider and Mary Florence Van Scoyc.
Mrs. Cupp was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. She had been an operator for Bell Telephone and was also the manager of the men's shoe department at Troutmans Department Store. She was member of Maqueda Chapter #421 Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, The Esquire Club, and the Century Club. She was one of the original members of the Armco Country Club. Mrs. Cupp was an avid duplicate bridge player and a member of the voters Hall of Fame for fifty-five years of continuous voting.
She is survived by one daughter Lynda Lavorini and her husband Dino, Jr. of Butler, two sons Robert (Bob) Cupp and his wife Betsy, and James Cupp, Jr. and his wife Susan, both of Butler, Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren Julie Lavorini, Dino Lavorini, III, Michael Lavorini and his wife Kristyn, Eric Cupp, Brian Cupp, R.J. Cupp and Jeffrey Cupp, two sisters; Mildred McNeal of Tyrone, Pennsylvania and Marian Nattress of Wawa, Pennsylvania and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Perry Cupp, Sr. who passed away on November 6, 1999, and also by her twin brother Robert Krider and a sister Florence Flick.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday January 1, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Hill United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday January 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Clark Sawyer, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
