Anna Marie Miller, age 84, of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, formerly of South Benbrook Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1:45 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born November 28, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Walter Kradel and the late Nellie Lardin.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She worked as a waitress for Miller's Hoagie Shop.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Mrs. Miller is survived by two sons, Larry C. Miller and his wife, Marty and Dennis C. Miller and his wife, Rebecca, both of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Donna M. Pollick and her husband, Stephen, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, number of great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Kradel of Tionesta, Pennsylvania; four sisters, Helen Bowen of Butler, Pennsylvania, Myrtle Bachman of Pymatuning, Pennsylvania, Agnes Schmeider of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Wanda Riemer of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania and by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Miller, who was deceased December 2, 1960 and by one son, three brothers and one sister.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, December 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. C. Gerald Huhn officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Alvin J. Tait
July 2, 1924 - December 25, 2007
Alvin J. Tait, age 83, of East Metzger Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at 2:26 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born July 2, 1924 in Louisville, Ohio, he was the son of Ralph "RB" and Edna M. O'Donnell Tait.
He was a retired electronics technician superintendent at T.W. Phillips Oil and Gas Company for 42 years. He was a graduate of Coyne Electrical School in Chicago.
He attended First United Methodist Church.
He served in the Coast Guard during World War II in Europe and Japan. He was a member of Butler Lodge 272 F&AM, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, and a former elder and deacon at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, traveler and storyteller.
Mr. Tait is survived by his wife, Beryl Christie Tait, whom he marriage on March 28, 1993; three daughters, Pamela L. Tait of Butler, Pennsylvania, Sue Lancaster and her husband, Hayden, of Vienna, West Virginia, and Sallie Benjamin and her husband, Tom, of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, David, Elise, Adam and Ashley Gale; a great-grandson, Ian and by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice A. Sweeney Tait, who died August. 22, 1991; and by one brother, Robert Tait.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, December 28, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ralph Link, retired pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Phyllis Suzanne Kovach
October 24, 1931 - December 24, 2007
Phyllis Suzanne Kovach, age 76, of McKinley Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, December 24, 2007 at 3:06 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born October 24, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Leonard E. Turner and the late Grayce V. Stanton.
Mrs. Kovach worked in the claims department for Nationwide Insurance for over thirty years. She was a member of North Street Christian Church.
She was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, the Moose, the Highfield Community Center and Tanglewood Senior Center. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking, housekeeping and traveling.
Mrs. Kovach is survived by her husband, Peter Kovach whom she marriage on June 6, 1952, her son, Dennis L. Kovach and her daughter, Lynne A. Kovach both of Butler; Pennsylvania and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kovach was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Eugene Turner and by her aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, December 28, 2007 one hour prior to the service.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert C. Huber officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
June Marie Haney

June Marie Haney, age 41 of Cooper Road, Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, died Monday, December 24, 2007 at her residence.
Born August 18, 1966 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the Catherine Dolores Hasychak and the late Steve Hasychak.
Mrs. Haney was a sales representative for Earth Sun Moon Trading Co. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Haney was interested in craft shows and baking.
Mrs. Haney is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Haney whom she marriage on September 24, 1988, one daughter, Lauren Haney; three sons, Tyler Haney, Tanner Haney, Spencer Haney, all at home; two brothers, Steven Hasychak and Michael Hasychak; both of Butler, Pennsylvania, one sister, Karen Casey of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania and by five nieces and two Nephews.
Mrs. Haney was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be held at the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Marianne Smith Pacoe
August 23, 1947 - December 22, 2007
Marianne Smith Pacoe, age 60, of Vista Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 5:00 a.m. at her residence.
Born August 23, 1947 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph Smith and the late Mary Stanko Smith.
Mrs. Pacoe was a member of the Christ Community United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Pacoe was a homemaker and worked in the Clerk of Courts office in the Butler County Courthouse. She was a member of the Scleroderma Foundation of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter, the Mother's of Twins Club and her card club. She very much enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flower garden, bird watching and traveling and meeting people in the concession business.
Mrs. Pacoe is survived by her husband, David George Pacoe, whom she marriage on August 15, 1964; her four sons, David Andrew Pacoe and his wife, Stacey of Abingdon, Maryland, Michael John Pacoe and his wife, Tracy of White Hall, West Viginia, Mark Raymond Pacoe of Hackensack, New Jersey, and Darrell Richard Pacoe and his wife, Dorrie of Butler, Pennsylvania; three brothers, John Arthur Smith, Thomas Paul Smith and his wife, Nancy, and Mark Smith and his wife, Debbie; four sisters, Christine Smith Robic and her husband, John, Helen Smith Christy and her husband, Terry, and Phylis Smith Logan and her husband, Douglas, and Roxanne Lackey and her husband, Jeff; eight grandchildren, Madison, Brent, Breanna, Alex, Samantha, Alexandra, DJ, Tyler; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Christ Community United Methodist Church on Monday, December 24, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Lisa Grant, her church pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Sheldine Young Link
October 1, 1919 - December 21, 2007
Sheldine Young Link, age 88, of Butler received her wings and went home to be with her Lord, Friday Morning December 21, 2007. During a lengthy illness, she had been cared for in her home by her family and the support of a loving hospice staff.
Born October 1, 1919 in Clay Township, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon Smyley Young and the late Anna McAnallen Young.
She was a life-long member of North Main Street Church of God where she had taught Sunday school classes and had been an active member of the Women's Missionary Society. (Now referred to as Women of the Church of God "WCG") She was also a member of the Nurses alumni of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Link was a graduate of Butler High School and attended Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana, for two years. She was a graduated from Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1943.and worked at the hospital doing private duty nursing. She had also worked at Baptist Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina and was the nurse at Pullman Standard Car Company in the 1950's and early 1960's.
Mrs. Link enjoyed writing short stories and had been encouraged by teachers to pursue this talent. She also enjoyed baking cookies and hosting picnics and parties at her home. Mrs. Link was loved deeply by both her immediate family and extended family and friends.
Mrs. Link is survived by two sons, John Randal Link and his fiancé, Paula Lazano of Kississimee, Florida and Timothy Lowell Link and his wife, Laura of Butler, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter Shelly Joylyn Link of Butler, Pennsylvania, one sister Ruth Lepley and her husband Robert of Butler, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Link was preceded in death by her husband, John Kenneth Link who passed away in August of 1980 and her son David Sheldon Link in April 22, 1962 and a daughter in- law Cindi Trancik Link, as well as, one brother and four sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the North Main Street Church Of God on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Kenneth Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
