Florence E. Markle, age 91 of Sunnyview Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 4:35 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born October 6, 1916 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late David S. Markle and the late Wilhelmina Voland Markle.
Miss Markle worked for American Standard Glass Industries in Ellwood City and then for the Estey Organ Co. in Harmony, retiring in 1981. She was a member of North Street Christian Church. Miss Markle was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Miss Markle is survived by two nieces, Mary L. Hoffman of Butler, Pennsylvania, Sharon D. Oesterling of Portersville, Pennsylvania; two nephews, George Tweed, Jr. of Harmony, Pennsylvania, Roger B. Tweed of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by several cousins.
Miss Markle was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
There will be no public visitation or services. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Butler, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Helen S. Sheppeck
July 31, 1917 - February 14, 2008
Helen S. Sheppeck, age 90, formerly of Sunbury Fields Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 3:15 a.m. in Sunnyview Home.
Born July 31, 1917 in Oakland Township, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late George Lewis Davis and the late Nellie E. Brown.
Mrs. Sheppeck was a homemaker. She was a life member of the former St. Paul's United Church of Christ and a member of the women's fellowship. She was a founding member of the South Butler Women's Auxiliary and she was active on several bowling leagues.
Mrs. Sheppeck is survived by three sons, Robert S. Sheppeck and his wife, Sandy, of Butler, Pennsylvania, William P. Sheppeck and his wife, Linda, of Savannah, Georgia, and Charles R. Sheppeck and his wife, Gina, of Bolivar, Missouri; one daughter, Brenda Heider and Albert of Butler, Pennsylvania; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis Davis and John W. Davis both of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by one daughter-in-law, Cathy Sheppeck.
Mrs. Sheppeck was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Sheppeck, who was deceased on June 13, 1980, and by her son, James A. Sheppeck and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ralph Link, retired minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Meals on Wheels, 218 East Jefferson Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
William McKinnis
December 20, 1928 - February 13, 2008
William Charles (Bill) McKinnis, Sr. age 79 of Fontana Street, Meridian, Pennsylvania passed away after a lingering illness on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 9:40 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Born in Meridian, Pennsylvania on December 20, 1928 he was the son of the late Walter H. McKinnis and Catherine Elizabeth Datt McKinnis.
Mr. McKinnis was a 1946 graduate of Butler High School. He was a member of the Community Alliance Church. Mr. McKinnis belonged to the local 500 of the Carpenter's Union. He was employed by several contractors in the area including Kenneth McKinnis Contractor and C.T. Dumbaugh Contractor.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Y. Youkers McKinnis whom he marriage on August 12, 1949, three sons and their wives William C. and Sandra McKinnis, Jr. of Eagle River Alaska, James A. and Lisa McKinnis of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Douglas L. and Wendy McKinnis of Wasilla, Alaska, one daughter, Cindy J. McKinnis of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, 10 grandchildren: Scott and Brian of Eagle River, Alaska, Micah, Kenton, Psalm and Wynn of Wasilla, Alaska, Maggie, Rita, Michael, and Evangelene of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, one sister, Harriet Caldwell of Zelienople, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Russell McKinnis and two sisters, Alice Schwalm and Velma Mink.
Visitation and funeral services will be private and the interment will take place at Butler County Memorial Park

James Neal Weaver
April 19, 1938 - February 12, 2008
James Neal Weaver, age 69 of Westbrook Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:15 p.m. at his residence.
Born April 19, 1938 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Nealen Weaver and the late Ila Schizler Weaver.
Mr. Weaver was an area manager of electric repair for Armco, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, Bonnie Weaver whom he marriage on November 30, 1995, and by two sons, Ronald Weaver of Bethlehem, Georgia, Kurt Weaver of Butler, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Kimberley Judd of Dearborn, Michigan, and Lia Weiland of DuBois, Pennsylvania; by three step-sons, Jeffrey Michaels, Gregory Michaels, Jason Michaels all of Butler, Pennsylvania; one step-daughter, Shelley Michaels of Butler, Pennsylvania; eighteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren, one brother, Donald Weaver of Winter Garden, Florida; one sister, Karen Pryor of Apollo, Pennsylvania and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by an infant son.
Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Winifred L. Cunningham

Winifred L. Cunningham, age 81, of Butler, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot, Pennsylvania
Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on October 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Edgar L. Cunningham and Ida L. Dittman Cunningham.
Miss Cunningham was a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church, which is now known as Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church. She was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post # 249, a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Meals on Wheels program. Miss Cunningham was active in her church, a member of the church choir, WELCA of her church, council secretary for many years. She was a 1944 graduate of Butler High School. Miss Cunningham retired as a secretary for Nationwide Insurance Company.
Miss Cunningham is survived by one sister in-law Elizabeth Cunningham, one niece Kathleen Cunningham Salsgiver of Butler, Pennsylvania, one nephew Kevin E. Cunningham of Meadville, Pennsylvania, three great nieces and two great nephews.
Miss Cunningham was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one great niece.
A memorial services will be announced at a later date. Interment will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler, Pennsylvania.
William R. Pressler, Jr.
August 17, 1937 - February 11, 2008
William R. Pressler, Jr., age 70 of Moore Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at 4:20 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 17, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late William R. Pressler, Sr. and the late Marion Stone Pressler.
Mr. Pressler retired in 1980 following 20 years with the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer earning the rank of commander. In 1982 he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he became a casino floorman for 10 years. He attended St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Pressler is survived by his wife, Karen Turk Pressler whom he marriage on June 20, 1981, by one son, Thomas W. Pressler of Richmond, Virginia; two grandchildren, Britanni Pressler, Kyle Pressler, both of Richmond, Virginia; and by a number of cousins.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Merry H. Meloy of St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Letitia Ann (Tish) Miller

Letitia Ann (Tish) Miller, age 59, of McLafferty Road, Fenelton, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 1:24 p.m. in the emergency room of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born September 8, 1948 in Adrian, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Robert M. Hooks and Clara Blanche (Peg) Davis Hooks.
Mrs. Miller was employed by Hills and Ames Department Stores at the Clearview Mall until their closing. Currently, she worked for Friedman's Grocery Store in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania.
She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and known to her grandchildren as Na Na.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, Clarence Miller whom she marriage on November 18, 1966. Her mother, Clara Blanche (Peg) Davis Hooks of Adrian, Pennsylvania; two sons, Michael Miller and his wife, Laura, of Cabot, Pennsylvania and Marc Miller and his wife, Heather, of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Hunter Miller and Carter Miller. One granddaughter, Marleigh Miller; two brothers, Elmer Hooks and his wife, Bonnie, of Adrian, Pennsylvania and James Hooks and his wife, Sue, of Worthington, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Patricia Frick and her husband, Harry, of Adrian, Pennsylvania and Sandy Whitling and her husband, Scott, of Bumpass, Virginia and by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by two brothers Andy Paul Hooks and Dennis Hooks and by one niece.
