Janet C. Smith, age 93 of East Brady Street Ext., Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 10:15 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born September 6, 1914 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Fred Cochran and the late Ida Pearl Cubbin.
Mrs. Smith was a domestic worker. She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Nancy S. Berry, and Judith A. Gray both of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Wayne M. Shuler, Brian T. Shuler, Robert J. Gray, Janice K. Horstman; three great-grandchildren, Justin C. Shuler, Danielle E. Shuler, Kathleen S. Horstman; one sister, Mrs. George (Ida G.) Troost, Florida; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Smith who passed away on May 13, 1963 and also by three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
There will be no public visitation and a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
Sarah Sexton

Sarah Sexton, age 86 of Sunnyview Nursing Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Derry, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 8:30 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born January 28, 1922 in Derry, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Emil Reed and the late Leah Isabell.
Mrs. Sexton was a cook for several restaurants in the Butler Area. She was protestant by faith.
Mrs. Sexton is survived by two sons, Barry L. Sexton of Butler, Pennsylvania, David T. Sexton, of Florida; two daughters, Tana Lindsey of Prospect, Pennsylvania, Janice Tempalski of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, number of great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Clark of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; one brother, Daryl Reed of Washington, D.C. and by a number of Nieces and Nephews.
Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry T. Sexton who passed away on April 14, 1982 and also by two sons, two sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Connie Dunn of VNA Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Betty J. Fennell Oesterling, age 85 Chicora Medical Center formerly of Portman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 4:30 a.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born July 28, 1922 in Kaylor, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Lank Fennell and the late Frieda Myers Fennell.
Mrs. Oesterling was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Oesterling was a former 4-H leader and a former member of the TOPS Club.
Mrs. Oesterling is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Larry (Lois) McCall of Chicora, Pennsylvania; two sons and their wives, Donald W. and Gayle Oesterling of Butler, Pennsylvania, Raymond G. and Judy Oesterling, Sr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Claire Fennell of Butler, Pennsylvania and Robert Fennell of Toledo, Ohio and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Oesterling was preceded in death by her husband, Gene R. Oesterling whom she marriage on October 5, 1940, and who passed away on February 14, 2004. She is also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Dorothy Mae Yough Kaufman, age 90 of Grove Manor, Grove City, Pennsylvania, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 1:35 a.m. in the Grove Manor Nursing Home.
Born May 27, 1917 in Brady's Bend, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Charles Yough and the late Lillian Smith Yough.
Mrs. Kaufman was a homemaker. She was a protestant by faith and a member of AARP.
Mrs. Kaufman is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Darlene Lehner of Grove City, Pennsylvania; her son and his wife, Ronald L. and Judith Bowser of Butler, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step-daughters, Mrs. Linda Rachuba of Unionville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Edward (Cathy) Spade, Mrs. Joni Pisor of Edgewater, Florida; three step-sons, Lawrence and Susan Kaufman of Beaver, Pennsylvania, William Kaufman, John and Kimberly Kaufman both of Freedom, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Rottman of Petrolia, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Greta John of Prospect, Pennsylvania, fourteen step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kaufman was preceded in death by her first husband, Nall Bowser who passed away in 1960 and by her second husband, Earl Kaufman whom she marriage on June 8, 1970 and who passed away on July 27, 2007. She was also preceded in death by four sisters four brothers, one grandson and one stepdaughter.

Ronald L. "Butch" Rasely
September 26, 1939 - February 23, 2008
Ronald L. "Butch " Rasely, age 68 of First Street, Butler, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 8:25 a.m. in the Butler Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on September 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Ralph Rasely and Stella Lang Rasely.
Mr. Rasely was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He had been the owner and operator of Ron's Exxon for thirty years and following that had been employed at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and St. Paul Catholic Schools in their maintenance department. He was a veteran of the United States Marines serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Rasely was also very active in the Butler Area Baseball Association for twenty plus years. He and his wife were also active in the Butler Family Bowlaway Couples League.
Mr. Rasely is survived by two sons, Mark A. Rasely and Darren Rasely and his wife Bernice both of Butler, Pennsylvania, one grandson Troy Rasely, one brother Wilbert Rasely and his wife Phyllis of Butler, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Eva Wilbert and Jean McCracken both of Butler, Pennsylvania, one sister-in-law, Linda Kestner Shook of York, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rasely was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie R. " Dutch" Rasely whom he marriage on March 3, 1961 and who passed away on March 9, 2000. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and one nephew.
Friends and family of Ronald L. Rasely will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with the Very Reverend Harry R. Bielewicz, his church pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
The family suggest memorial donations be made to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Deloris J. "Dolly" Simon

Deloris J. "Dolly" Simon, age 88 of Sunnyview Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Lumar Village died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 5:35 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born July 4, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Austin Stepp and the late Nora Doumont Stepp.
Mrs. Simon was a homemaker. She was also a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Simon is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Joy) Collins of Butler, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Mrs. Isabel Bowser of Mesa, Arizona, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Simon was preceded in death by her husband, David O. Simon who passed away on December 13, 1998 and also by one sister and one brother.
Private visitation and blessing services were held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery.
