Thomas D. "Del" Osborne, age 77 of Partell Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 5:59 a.m. in the Emergency Room of the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 19, 1930 in Franklin, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Delbert George Osborne and the late Alice Isabelle Whitten Osborne.
Mr. Osborne was a senior electrical engineer for Armco retiring in 1990 after thirty-one years of service. He was a member of North Main St. Church of God and was very active in his church, He was a former member of the board of trustees of the church and a member of the Keenagers Sunday School Class. Mr. Osborne was an avid hunter and a member of The National Rifle Association. In his later years he enjoyed playing golf and was member of the former Armco Country club and various golf leagues. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and he was also part of a group of senior walkers at the Clearview Mall.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Beach Osborne, whom he marriage on October 6, 1950, by three daughters Linda Weigle Baird Osborne of Butler, Pennsylvania, Patricia Stoops and her husband John of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Barbara Roth and her husband Brian formerly of Prospect, Pennsylvania and currently of Youngsville, North Carolina, by six grandchildren, Justin Weigle, DuWayne Baird and his fiancée Caitlin, Jennifer Kirwald and her husband Shawn, John Stoops and his wife Beth, Brendan Roth and Megan Roth, by six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Eric, Tyler, Anthony, Lauren, and Carson, by one step-brother, Ross Crist of Naples, Florida and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the North Main Street Church Of God on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenneth C. Hall and Reverend David Brown of North Main Street Church Of God officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Kenneth B. Palmer
February 19, 1930 - March 7, 2008
Kenneth B. "Ken" Palmer, age 78 of Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 9:40 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born February 19, 1930 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Ralph Palmer and the late Otho Wonderly Palmer.
Mr. Palmer worked at Armco, Pullman-Standard and retired in 1990 from Snyder's Associates in Kittanning as forman and heavy equipment operator. Mr. Palmer was an active member of Christ Outreach Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and a graduate of Butler High School.
Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Donna Heichel Palmer whom he marriage on April 14, 1950, one son and his wife, Reverend Ken and Vicki Palmer of Butler, Pennsylvania; four daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Edward Fink of Livingston, Texas, Dottie and Greg Perry of Valencia, Pennsylvania, Diane and David Migliorini of Butler, Pennsylvania, Lisa and Rick Sharp of Stephens City, Virginia; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister and her husband, Peggy and Dean Allison of Butler, Pennsylvania and by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by one grandchild, one great-grandchild and one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with his son, the Reverend Ken Palmer of Christ Outreach Church officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Has passed away on March 5, 2008
Laura B. "Dolly" Somerville, age 102 of Shelbourne Assisted Living, formerly of Miller Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 4:41 a.m. in the Shelbourne Assisted Living.
Born March 28, 1905 in Sligo, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late William Waite and the late Katherine Hartman Waite.
Mrs. Somerville was a sales clerk for The Vogue Dress Shop for many years. She was a member of North Street Christian Church.
Mrs. Somerville is survived by her son, Robert D. Somerville of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Somerville was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle R. Somerville and also by four brothers and three sisters.

Alicia Dawn English, age 59, of Bredin Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at 8:30 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born January 10, 1949 in Morganstown, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Milo Messenger and Barbara Ringer, surviving.
Mrs. English was a member of the New Beginnings Free Methodist Church.
She worked as a home visiting nurse in Ohio and Arizona. She was a member of Tanglewood Senior Center. She loved racing and sports.
Mrs. English is survived by her husband, Donald E. English whom she marriage on August 21, 1987; her mother, Barbara Messenger of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; two sons, Terry Pugh of Brookfield, Ohio and Kenneth Moy, Jr. of Kinsman, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. John (Cassaundra) Speelman of Brookfield, Ohio, Mrs. Michael (Brenda) McNamara of Brookfield, Ohio and Mrs. Lawrence (Cinthia) Haines of McClellandtown, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren, one great grandson; five brothers, Randell "Randy" Messenger of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Frederick "Ricky" Messenger of Holtwood, Pennsylvania, Milo "Bobby" Messenger of Salem, Ohio, Byron "Barry" Messenger of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and Jeffrey Messenger of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; number of nieces and nephews, and by a step-son, Justin English of Niles, Ohio and one step granddaughter.
Mrs. English was preceded in death by one son, Terry Raymond Pugh, Jr.

James H. Blackburn
August 30, 1936 - March 21, 2008
James H. Blackburn, age 71, of Herman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, March 21, 2008 in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 30, 1936 in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Henry G. and Alice A. Deere Blackburn.
Mr. Blackburn worked as a self-employed upholsterer at Ambassador House Upholstery. He was a volunteer for the VA Medical Center. He was a member of the American Legion in Worthington, Pennsylvania and the Harlendale Masonic Lodge in San Antonio, Texas. He enjoyed NASCAR, Lernerville Speedway, woodworking, traveling, gardening and telling corny jokes.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during peacetime in the United States, England, Germany, Finland and Crete.
Mr. Blackburn is survived by his wife Marjorie D. Blackburn of Luton Bedfordshire England, whom he met while stationed at Chicksands Air force base and marriage on April 26, 1958; one son, Keith R. Blackburn and his wife, Lisa, of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Karina L. Minteer and her husband, Gary, of Mesa, Arizona; two granddaughters, Jocelyn R. Blackburn of Valencia, Pennsylvania and Kendall T. Minteer of Mesa, Arizona ; one grandson, Colin J. Blackburn of Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother, Timothy Blackburn and his wife Andrea of Valencia, Pennsylvania; one sister, Patricia Porter and her husband, Kenneth, of Valencia, Pennsylvania; his stepmother Ruth Large, and by a number nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and one great, great nephew.
Mr. Blackburn was preceded in death by a grandson and a brother-in-law.
Mr. Blackburn donated his body for research, education and for scientific purposes.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Peter Nordby, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Florence E. "Dolly" Duncan

Florence E. "Dolly "Duncan, age 58 of Harris Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday March 21, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on May 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late David Clinton Duncan and the late Florence Henrietta Hoak Duncan.
Mrs. Duncan was a homemaker and a devoted mother and loving grandmother. She loved Karaoke singing and was an extremely generous and kind woman.
Mrs. Duncan is survived by three daughters, Sherri Jurysta and her husband Ron of Butler, Pennsylvania, Tina Swanton and her companion Brian Mock, and Kayla Duncan both of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, by three grandchildren, Alison Roberts, Ron Jurysta, III, and Michael Turk, by four brothers: Bill Duncan, Pat Duncan, Clint Duncan all of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Bob Duncan of Connecticut, by one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Barbara) Friend of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by one son David Edward Yock and one brother David Duncan.
There will be no public visitation and private graveside services will be held at South Cemetery.
