Paul W. Leasure, Sr., 84, of Dorencamp Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday April 1, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in New Castle on September 8, 1920, he was a son of the late James Earl and the late Grace E. Clark Leasure.
Mr. Leasure was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Chuch. He served in the U.S. Army in New Guinea during World War II and was active in the reserves, earning the rank of colonel before retiring on September 8, 1980. He was an engineer for Bell Telephone in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and retired in 1981 after 41 years. Mr. Leasure was a member of the Joseph T. Black Post 249 and American Legion Post 117.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Parish Leasure, whom he marriage January 15, 1942; two sons, Paul W. Leasure, Jr. and Lawrence R. Leasure, both of Butler; Pennsylvania three daughters, Mrs. David (Kathleen) Haunty and Sandra Burke, both of Butler, Pennsylvania and Mrs. John (Joanne) Sullivan of Salisbury, North Carolina; three brothers, Albert Leasure and Donald Leasure, both of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Russell Leasure of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Anna Gregor and Grace Thompson, both of Florida; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers, a sister, a son, two granddaughters and a great-grandson preceded him in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, April 3, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, April 4, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Dennis Molnar, his church pastor, officiating.
Clyde E. Graham
Passed away on May 27, 2005
Clyde E. Graham, age 79 of Red Dog Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, May 27, 2005 at 9:00 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born in Unionville, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Merle Graham and the late Myra Belle Stewart.
Mr. Graham was an operating engineer for Union 66 in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He liked fishing, hunting, gardening, he was a lover of the environment and environment advocate, and he also served actively in fighting in Germany.
Mr. Graham is survived by his wife, Neva M. Young Graham whom is was marriage to for 56 years, by two daughters, Donna Daniels of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Barbara Graham of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; by one son, Gerald and his wife Karen Graham of Butler, Pennsylvania; a grandson, Philip Daniels; two grand-daughters, Rachel Graham and Jennifer Graham of all of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Graham was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Dwight E. Greer officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

John T. Sholes
March 20, 1927 - May 24, 2005
John T. Sholes, age 78 of East Parkwood, Friendswood, Texas, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Webster, Texas.
Born March 20, 1927 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Eber Sholes and the late Alice Weiding.
Mr. Sholes was Human Relations and Safety Director for Witco Chemical Corporation in Petrolia, Pennsylvania, retiring in 1992. He attended the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Sholes is survived by one son, John Thomas Sholes, II of Roanoke, Virginia; three daughters, Gaile Stiteler of Houston, Texas, Victoria Szelewski of Fairport, New York, April Graber of Bangor, Pennsylvania; by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, David Sholes of Albany, Kentucky and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sholes was preceded in death by his wife, E. Louise (Osmer) Sholes who passed away on February 21, 2002 and by one son.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 28, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Sholes officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Graveside Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #249 of Butler.
Margaret (Peg) Kurtz Smith
January 26, 1913 - May 21, 2005
Margaret (Peg) Kurtz Smith, age 92 of Cherokee Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 7:10 p.m. in Sunnyview Home.
Born January 26, 1913 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Albert C. Kurtz and the late Edna Barnhart Kurtz.
Mrs. Smith was a member of First United Methodist Church in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Butler Reading Club, the Butler Garden Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 383 of Scottdale, Pennsylvania. She was very active in her church, and was a graduate of Indiana University. Mrs. Smith was retired as elementary school teacher, holding positions in the South Moreland, New Kensington, and Kittanning School Districts.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Lester V. Smith whom she marriage on June 23, 1937, by two sons, Lester V. Smith, Jr. of Portland, Oregon, and Douglas K. Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by one sister.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend J. David Panther officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion at Butler County Memorial Park.

Margaret K. Younkins, age 95, formerly of East Brady Street and Terrance Apartments, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 4:35 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Care in Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Born July 25, 1909 in Glasgow Scotland, she was the daughter of Thomas Kerr and Elizabeth White Kerr.
Mrs. Younkins was a homemaker and she worked for Calvary Day Care, Natili's North Restaurant and for Dr. Potter. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge #463 of Queen Elizabeth Lodge, where she was Past Grand Matron.
Mrs. Younkins is survived by four sons, Clifford L. Younkins and Raymond A. Younkins both of Butler, Pennsylvania, Lester A. Younkins of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Gerald L. Younkins of Kenilworth, New Jersey; a daughter, Patricia J. Younkins of Westfield, New Jersey; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford D. Younkins, who was deceased December 1, 1969, and by her four sisters and three brothers.

Lela McCandless Hutchison

Lela McCandless Hutchison, age 79, formerly of Brookstone Court, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 11:45 p.m. at the Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania.
Born August 29, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John McCandless and Cora Lawrence McCandless.
Mrs. Hutchison was an elementary school teacher in the Butler Area School District, retiring in 1984 after thirty years of teaching. She was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Hutchison is survived by three sons, Donald A. Hutchison of Butler, Pennsylvania, Larry W. Hutchison of Riverview, Florida, and Randall L. Hutchison of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Parsons of Meadville, Pennsylvania and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Hutchison, who was deceased August 10, 1983, three brothers and six sisters.
