Dorothy M. Abels, 82 of Old Plank Road, Butler, died Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 1:10 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 8, 1921 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Paul L. Fennell and Stella Caldwell.
Mrs. Abels was a homemaker. She was a member of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, Cooperstown, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Jefferson Grange and Women of the Moose Lodge #260.
Mrs. Abels is survived by her husband Thomas J. Abels, four sons, Robert W. Abels of Churchville, New York, T. William Abels of Meridian, Pennsylvania, Daniel W. Abels of Columbia, Tennessee, Larry P. Abels of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, Nine Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Alberta Graham of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Alice Hughes of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Nancy Klein of Chicora, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Abels was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Monday, May 17, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with the Reverend Gregory Wiest officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.

Marian C. Twerdok, age 61 of North Bluff Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at 5:45 P.M. at the home of her son.
Born in Butler, Pennsylvania on March 10, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Carl E. Anderson and Mary M. Graham.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved to play cards and was a member of several card clubs. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking and took great pleasure in her grandchildren.
Marian was employed as a teller for the past fifteen years up until the time that her illness forced her to stop at Pittsburgh Home Savings.
She is survived by her son and daughter in-law Mark and Beth Twerdok of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Mrs. Steven (Jill) Molbach of St. Louis, Missouri, five grandchildren, Lauren and Allison Molbach of St. Louis, Missouri, Zachary, Luke and Jacob Twerdok of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Mrs. William (Eleanor) Smith of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Dale (Carol) Wenzelburger of Clearwater, Florida, two brothers, Donald Anderson and his wife Sharon of Horsehead, New York and James Anderson of Brooklyn, New York and by eight nieces and nephews.
Friends and Family of Marian C. Twerdok will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001 on Sunday, May 16, 2004 from 7 to 9 P.M. and on Monday, May 17, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. from Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Thomas Pierotti of Trinity Lutheran Church and Reverend Blair Morgan of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glenshaw officiating. Interment will follow in The Butler County Memorial Park.

Janice R. Matlick, 66 formerly of Sunbury Estates, Butler, died Friday, May 14, 2004 at 11:25 a.m. in St. John's Specialty Care Center.
Born May 8, 1938 in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Clifford Cress and Olive G. Greenawalt.
She worked as a clerk of medical records for Butler Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She was protestant by faith.
She is survived by her husband Jack Matlick, one son, Charles Loughner of Prospect, Pennsylvania, one brother, Gail Cress of Evans City, Pennsylvania, and one daughter, Mary Frances Sullivan of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Helen Christine Shivers, 96 formerly of Trinidad Street, Penn Township, Butler, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 4:25 a.m. at her daughter's residence.
Born April 28, 1908 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James M. Kunkle and Winifred Lally.
Mrs. Shivers was a homemaker and crossing guard in Wilkinsburg and Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. She was a member of Nixon United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #0550, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Shivers is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ronald A. (Diane) Marsico, Sr. of Butler, Pennsylvania, two sons, William Thomas Zimmerman of White Plains, Maryland, Wallace A. Shiver, Jr. of Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, sixteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one brother, Lloyd William Kunkle of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shivers is preceded in death by her husband Wallace A. Shiver, Sr., who passed away on July 19, 1988, by one daughter, one son, three grandchildren, four sisters, and one brother.

Theresa R. Miller, 80 of Hidden Meadow Circle, Renfrew, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 11:40 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 28, 1924 in West Consohocken, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Jerimiah Pasquarello and Carmella Pasquarello.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Fidelis Catholic Church. She was a part time clerk at Roxy Drug Store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She moved to Butler in November of 2002 to be closer to her son and his family.
Mrs. Miller is survived by one son, Gerald F. Miller of Butler, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Sharyn Scheib, and Mrs. Gerald (Shelley) Knapp both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her husband Leroy Miller, who passed away in 1988, by two brothers and three sisters.

Bernard J. Gallagher, age 57 of Chicora, Pennsylvania passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 3:40 P.M. at the Butler Memorial Hospital after a three year courageous battle with colon cancer.
Born July 16, 1946 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Bernard J. Gallagher, Sr. and Loretta J. Gardner.
He was a retired steamfitter working out of local union # 47. He was an avid hunter and devoted husband, father and son. He also enjoyed time at the river with close friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Sandra L. Bachman Gallagher whom he marriage in Butler 36 years ago May 18, 1968, by one daughter Tammy Jo Gallagher, one son Joseph B. Gallagher both of Chicora, Pennsylvania. His father Bernard J. Gallagher Sr. of Butler, Pennsylvania, a grand-dog Abby of Chicora, Pennsylvania, two nephews Robert S. Isaacs, Jr and Scott J. Isaacs of Butler, Pennsylvania, two nieces Kristin Bachman and Sarah Bachman of Butler, Pennsylvania, his mother in-law Irma Bachman, two brother and sister in-laws Terry and Dee Bachman and Daryl and Robin Bachman all of Butler, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister Roberta Gallagher Isaacs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Wendelin Catholic Church with Reverend Father Michael Maranowski officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chicora.
Nancy Helen Cumblidge

Nancy Helen Cumblidge, 69 formerly of Heather Drive, Butler, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 9:10 p.m. in Sunnyview Home.
Born April 14, 1935 in Versailles, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Frank Lewis Lesko and Helen Nagy.
Mrs. Cumblidge was a medical technologist.
Mrs. Cumblidge is survived by her husband Kenneth E. Cumblidge, whom she marriage on September 28, 1957, by one son, Kevin Cumblidge, and by one daughter, Susan Bonn.
There will be no public visitation or service.
