George W. Maxwell, age 74 of Evans City Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 1:35 a.m. at his residence.
Born August 15, 1930 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Sherwood Y. Maxwell and the late Ruth Thompson Maxwell.
Mr. Maxwell was a civil servant for the Social Security Administration, Boyers retiring in 1985. There after he was employed at Star Security of Butler for 15 years. Mr. Maxwell was a member of Community Alliance Church. He attended Butler Area High School and Slippery Rock College. He was in the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Mr. Maxwell was a life member and past commander of the V.F.W., Post 249, a member of the American Legion, Post #117, and NARFE. He enjoyed softball, small game hunting, reading, swimming and his wife and children.
Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife, Gisela Maxwell whom he marriage on February 22, 1969, by one son, Ernest M. Raible and his wife Kathy of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Gerry (Kathy) Galloway of Osan, Korea; a grandson, Klaus Raible at home whom they raised; seven additional grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy M. Burnside and Barbara E. McCracken both of Butler, Pennsylvania and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Maxwell was preceded in death by one daughter, Conny Raible, one brother, Sherwood Maxwell and one sister, Shirley Ann Maxwell.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates. The V.F.W. Post #249 will also conduct graveside military services.

Anna Heloise "Ann" Bashline
October 20, 1917 - July 7, 2005
Anna Heloise "Ann" Bashline, age 87 of Westview Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 5:00 a.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born October 20, 1917 in DuBois, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Clarence R. and Aryl Parrish LaBorde.
She was an alumna of Butler High School and The Butler Business College and retired in 1979 as a clerk at the Butler County Court House. Mrs. Bashline was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Bashline is survived by her husband, James W. Bashline, whom she marriage on November 27, 1943; her daughter, Ms. Aryl Ann Bashline of Butler, Pennsylvania; and several cousins.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, July 8, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Saturday, July 9, 2005 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday July 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James W. Dollhopf, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Fred E. Michael
January 17, 1933 - July 2, 2005
Fred E. Michael, age 72 of Oakland Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at his residence.
Born January 17, 1933 in North Washington, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Charles R. Michael and Frances M. Sinz Michael.
Mr. Michael was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of the church council, and former church treasurer.
Mr. Michael was a 1952 graduate of Robert Morris College. He was a certified public accountant and retired as a partner in the firm, Carbis Walker and Associates, which he had been employed for over 30 years.
He was a member of The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The National Association of Accountants, and The National Federation of Independent Businesses. He was also a member and past president of Rotary International, The Butler Elks Lodge, and Brady Paul Lodge F.O.P.
He was a former member and past president of The Moraine Trails Council of The Boy Scouts of America and was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award in 1983. He was a former member of the legislative committee of The Butler Chamber of Commerce, former member of The Salvation Army Advisory Board, former member and past president of The Butler County Easter Seal Society, former member of The Butler County Law Enforcement Association, and a former member of United Way Campaign volunteer. He was a member of the White House Conference for Small Business in 1986 and Mr. Michael was a former member of The Butler Country Club.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany during the Korean War.
Mr. Michael is survived by his wife, Rose M. Field Michael, who he marriage on July 27, 1957; two brothers, Robert C. Michael and his wife, Judy and David L. Michael and his wife, Frances both of Butler, Pennsylvania; a sister, Mrs. Paul J. (Florence J.) Thompson of Franklin, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Michael of England and by several nieces and nephews.
One brother and one niece preceded Mr. Michael in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from 7 to 9 and Wednesday, July 6, 2005 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9.
Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Thomas Pierotti, his church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Members of V.F.W. Post # 249 will perform Military Honors at the Cemetery.

Laura Marie (Laurie) Behrens
December 24, 1935 - July 2, 2005
Laura Marie (Laurie) Behrens, age 69 of Country Club Road, Penn Township, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 3:15 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 24, 1935 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Loyal C. Walker and Hazel Camille Pangborn Walker.
Mrs. Behrens was a graduate of Penn Township High School and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church, a former member of Penn Township Women's Club, a member of Lovely Ladies Luncheon Club, and a past member of the Penn Township Fireman's Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Behrens enjoyed estate sales, antiques, collecting teapots, and loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Behrens is survived by her husband, Eugene (Gene) Behrens, who she marriage on November 28, 1953; two sons, Steven Behrens and his wife, Susan, of Gramby, Connecticut and Scott Behrens and his wife, Theresa, of Chicora, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Teresa) Bauder of Harrisville, Pennsylvania and Mrs. George (Susan) Spiridonakos of Sewickley, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, Kevin, Matthew, Joseph and Joshua Behrens, Ryan and Nicholas Bauder, Michael and Sophia Spiridonakos, Michelle Foran and Nicole Geibel; four great grandchildren, Marcus Lantz, Kaitlin Behrens, Chloe Geibel and Madalyn Geibel; two sisters, Mrs. Maxine Brooks of Butler, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Harold T. (Cheryl) Hilliard of Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania and by many nieces and nephews.
One brother and one sister preceded Mrs. Behrens in death.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with both Reverend Bruce Merritt, of Nixon United Methodist Church and Reverend Keith Dunn, of Oakmont United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.

Mary E. Stamm

Mary E. Stamm, age 91 of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 11:30 p.m. in Slippery Rock Personal Care Home.
Born October 9, 1913 in Franklin Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Frank H. McCall and the late Amanda Etta Brown.
Mrs. Stamm was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a member of Truth Seekers Sunday School Class and Berean Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Stamm is survived by her husband, Earl McClain Stamm who she marriage on November 21, 1934, by two sons, Leroy E. Stamm of Butler, Pennsylvania, and William H. Stamm of Boyers, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stamm was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandchild, a brother and three sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 2, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
